- Ukraine Pushes 35km into Russia | Vantage with Palki Sharma
Ukraine's military has taken a bold step by establishing an administrative office in Russia's Kursk region, advancing 35km into Russian territory. Ukrainian forces now control over 1,150 square kilometres, including 82 settlements. Ukraine says over 100 Russian troops had also surrendered to the Ukrainian forces. However, Kyiv insists that the incursion is not an attempt to seize Russian land. Instead, the move aims to pressure Moscow into negotiating a just peace. Meanwhile, China held talks with the Vatican about its peace plan for Ukraine. Palki Sharma tells you more.

Ukraine should not surrender its land captured and annexed by Russia. Meanwhile, Ukraine should gives more rights to russian-decendent ppl living in those captured lands.
A major portion of Ukraine territory will be in control American big corporates and substantial portions will be taken by Russian. The rest will be taken by Ukraine people. The color revolution has given good results to big defense corporations at the cost of sabotaging the whole country.
It didn't surrender land it was taken. And if they wanted to give non ucranian speaking people, people they call invaders, people that had their land stolen by the USSR and given to Ukraine, they had since 1991 to do so. They have been going in a different direction, the chances they will change course is 0, this administration has seized power with foreign help and apparently the ucranian nationalist spirit is their justification. If they back out now their own people would eat them alive if the russians don't, their claims are tied to their legitimacy, no one voted these people in a free and fair election. If they wanted they could hold elections now. When these people held their elections, the country was already at civil war, not sure why it was acceptable then but it is not acceptable now.

It was the other way around. The US supported Russia with weapons and vehicles so that Russia (who was weeks away from falling to the Nazi regime) could keep their country. Ukraine should occupy Russian territory, so after a ceasefire, Ukraine has something to exchange with Russia. India did the same with Pakistan in the 1965 war. When Pakistan was gaining ground in Kashmir, India opened a front in Rajasthan and got close to Lahore.
In war, position matters, and it matters a lot. Being at the top of a mountain is not the same as being at the bottom. If Ukraine has to reclaim its land from Russia, where the Russians have already fortified positions, Ukraine will face heavy casualties. Similarly, every inch of land that Russia takes from Ukraine, if well fortified, will result in significant Russian casualties. However, even though Russia may suffer heavy losses, it is still gaining land. If Ukraine occupies Russian land that was not fortified and builds defenses similar to other parts of Ukraine, then Russia will face huge casualties. Even if Russia wins that land, it will not lose Ukrainian territory. Most importantly, when it comes to a ceasefire, Ukraine can exchange this land for its own, otherwise, Ukraine risks losing its land permanently."
