      Hampton Conway I’m only running 4 speakers with it! My mains are powered by another amp. Honestly since the Denon only uses 1 transformer, you lose sound quality if you drive 13 channels.

    I've the Denon S930H for about a week now and so far I'm impressed. This AVR replaced my Sony STR 840 from 2014 which still works and sound good. In terms of punch and dialog clarity the Denon is a step below my Sony STR 1070. Unlike the 1070 the Denon S930H supports Dolby Atmos which makes a difference, but still not enough to push the S930H above DTS MA audio on my 1070. Same with music, the Sony 1070 sound stage is wider, and the sound is fuller, but not by much. As it stand I'm going to keep my 1070 as my main receiver while my S930H will remain in my computer room. I'll probably upgrade my 1070 next year to Sony's 1090 it might be called if the price is right.

    Great Video.
    When you open that front door cover , someone might mistaken that for a garage and park their car in it ;o)
    I just picked up the DENON X6400H . More then plenty for my 19x16 Living Room.
    Most people won't need anything this big. Double the Price for Two more speakers add on and 10 more watts of power per channel, For Double the price? Nahhh I will pass. then their are those that have to have it all and top of the line, LOL. I am still passing on it ;o)

    • @Fluterra
      @Fluterra 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s not about more power. I only power 4 speakers with the Denon. I have a 6 channel system, that’s it. I bought the 8500H for the sound quality - it has better DACs and a better power supply. That’s worth a couple of thousand to me.

    And another thing I'm 38 years old and have been into audio and home theater surround sound systems since I was a child and Dolby Pro logic first came out, all I got to say is the stuff just keeps getting cheaper and cheaper, lighter and more plastic and smaller amplifiers what clean more and more power every year and find ways to manipulate and exaggerate power, personally the best deals are found on used not new of bands like Rotel, parasound and NAD, and even older Denon and Yamaha and even Onkyo, Pioneer can't go wrong with any of them brands for the price to preformance

    Love your videos. learning so much! I noticed you said the Marantz sounded soft compared to Denon. I am looking to upgrade my yamaha v681 to either a marantz 7012 or denon x4400h for 80 percent movie watching 5.1 plus atmos. I also have all 4ohm speakers all Martin logan in a 15x11 size room. I like detailed crisp sound. Which one would you go with the Marantz 7012 or Denon x4400h. I think the Marantz is around 200 bucks more just don't know if that difference is worth it but I would pay if Marantz is worth the premium. Thanks in advance.

  • @AGC828

    Terrific overview. If I were in the market for a new AVR this Denon would be the ONLY choice. As no one else has a 13.2 amp AVR yet. Which I find odd. Usually a few big names release theirs at around the same time. Marantz does have separates...wonder if this means they won't be putting out a similarly featured AVR.
    This AVR should be more than enough for the intended market. Usually for HT buffs who have enough money for above average quality equipment but can't also afford to build a dedicated sound treated HT room.
    Should have played a few segments of 4k Bluray with the Denon. Surprised it's already on the market.

    The Rotel 1580MKII is the best AV amplifier on the market. Compared to the Denon AVC 8500 and 110, it sounds much more detailed, more precise and it differentiates the action scenes much better. The Denon's are not good, just marketing. I had the opportunity to compare all amplifiers with each other.

      SpareChange What’s the biggest difference between the Denon AVR-8500h and the Denon AVR-X7200wa?

      Ask on the avsforums, but I believe the 8500 does HDR and the 7200 only has 9 channels wheras the 8500 has 13 channels. I have the 6300.

    How do these things not have touch screens yet? Especially, at $4k... An Ipad level touch screen with complete programming and ladder logic would be less than $100 to implement, replacing all more expensive analog controls. Most of the GUI is already installed, but directed to a tv.

    Nice presentation, totally ruined by the banal annoying background music, repetitive distracting and damned annoying!
