I have heaps upon heaps upon heaps of boards with components. If there's any valuable capacitors I desolder them right away to keep them from being damaged, but once in a while I need a capacitor or resistor of a certain value and they'll have them somewhere! I made friends with an engineer at Daikin, the AC/cooling company. They get rid of some chunky boards at times, and there's always some good stuff in there. "They didn't feel it was necessary to lift the legs off the board here, so I won't do it either". Well, figure, the cap failed. Perhaps they were wrong about this. 🫠

when you're handling capacitors make sure you discharge and before you touch them
I had actually filmed me discharging the high voltage caps, but ultimately decided to cut it out of the video just bc it didn't flow well
