100% PURE LOVE is the ultimate Crystal Waters hit. And believe me...from the start of the cowbell beat kicking in til the last faded notes of the chorus, Jay will get what he wants.
I hear that beat drop with the cowbell and I instantly forget where I am..ready to work it down!!!

I love 1990s house music. I grew up on it. "Gypsy Woman" is one of my favorite songs from this genre. The organ riff is iconic. I own a copy of the CD maxi-single, which includes a 7+ minute extended version, an a capella version, and a few other cool remixes. Another great track from Crystal Waters that was a big hit on the Dance/Club charts is "100% Pure Love." I have the CD maxi-single for that song as well.

    For more 90s dance:
Black Box - 'Everybody Everbody' and 'Strike It Up'
C+C Music Factory - 'Gonna Make You Sweat', 'Here We Go' and 'Do You Wanna Get Funky' (the last one is when they finally worked with Martha Wash AND put her on camera)
Also, please, PLEASE get into more 90s R&B (be it dance, New Jack Swing, slow jams, etc) with Tony Toni Toné with 'It Feels Good'

    • @Roundtablist
      @Roundtablist ปีที่แล้ว

@@user-dz6fy6qv2lThe one they listened to was the awesome 1993 song sung by Robyn S (short for Robyn Stone) - a black woman. There was another much more down tempo "Show me Love" by another Robyn (Carlsson, this time) released in 1997 (and produced at the incredible Cheiron Studios by Denniz Pop and Max Martin of Britney Spears, Ace of Base, Backstreet Boys, etc. fame). She was Swedish and later went on to do a bunch of work with Royksopp in the 2000s and 2010s among many other things. Both were great songs. I remember people coming up to request their favourite song "Show Me Love", I'd always have to make sure to check which version they meant or I'd have an irate punter seeking me out a few minutes later. Ironically, another song called Show Me Love was released in 2015 by a German DJ - Robin Schulz. I really came to hate it when people requested any of them.
BTW, I agree that Love for Love was another fantastic song by Robyn Stone from one of my favourite dance music eras.

Yes, very surprising they haven't covered Toni Braxton, Karyn White, Pebbles, and even more Sheena Easton. Sheena had 14 Top 40 hits from the early 80's to early 90's, and they've only covered her first hit. After Prince worked with Sheena and later, L.A. Reid and Babyface, she just had so many styles of music to dive into. She had a beautiful voice. Hopefully they'll get more into all these awesome women!

You’ve definitely done Paula Abdul and Janet Jackson from this time period. “Rush, Rush” was 1991 and while Janet’s Rhythm Nation album came out in 1989, I feel like the actual single “Rhythm Nation” didn’t drop until 1990.

She would be in front of McPherson Sq Metro stop. Used to see and hear her all the time. I could be mistaken but I think Crystal worked a federal job or an office job nearby and encountered her that way. I am sure she moved from spot to spot but I remember her at McP and I think over by Metro Center but am positive about McPherson. She was very nice, both the lady and CW. DC was super dangerous then but had one hell of a music scene with dj's like both Deep Dish Boys, Karl Matthews (rip), Mike Meachem, Scott Henry, Hutchy (the Eric Hilton...18th Street Lounge after Exodus in Down Under Club...crew were all dope.). Earic Patten, Lieven DeGeyndt, Reggie Love, Mandril...so many, so talented.

I love that Amber's figured out how to dance to Late 80's early 90's House music, which is to just Bob side to side while looking like you don't care. "I have better things to do, but I just choose to dance"

Of course you've already done some '90s dance. Off the top of my head: Corona with "The Rhythm of the Night", "Rhythm Is A Dancer" by SNAP and Robin S with "Show Me Love". Next suggestion: "Feel What You Want" by Kristine W from 1994. It's a powerful song with soulful vocals. A number-one club hit in both the UK and the US.

A few suggestions for more 90s dance songs I don't think you've done:
I Like To Move It Move It - Real 2 Real
Let Me Be Your Fantasy - Baby D
    Dreamer - Livin' Joy
The Key, The Secret - The Urban Cookie Collective
Ooh Way... Just A Little Bit - Gina G
It's My Life - Dr Alban
Don't Call Me Baby - Madison Avenue
Where Love Lives - Allison Limerick
(just thinking about it you'll know I Like To Move It Move It from the Madagascar movies)

The song is about Ms. Waters great aunt Ethel Waters who was one of the first black American vocalists to appear in mainstream Hollywood musicals. Chrystal was with her aunt and Ethel was making the sound that Chrystal put in the song. The Wayans did a parody of this video on their show (In Living Color). It's extremely funny and good.

Crystal Waters - 100% Pure Love
This takes me back to the clubs. And I agree with the others on Black Box, C+C Music
    KLF - 3 A.M. Eternal
Mark Morrison - Return of the Mack
ATC - Around the World (La La La La La)
Alice Deejay - Better Off Alone
    Darude - Sandstorm

This song really defines the late 80’s/early 90’s deep house movement and its transition from back-alley, underground, Chicago-based to an internationally recognized club genre. It’s the perfect example - perhaps, maybe even - the pinnacle of its period.

There is a thread here among the comments, about some viewers wanting Jay and Amber to react to more R & B music videos and songs.
I’ll go ahead and make some R & B music requests of my own. I believe that “Money (That’s What I Want)”, by Barrett Strong, has been reacted to, but Jay and Amber could also react to The Beatles’ 1963 cover of the song (their producer, George Martin, plays the piano on the song).
They should also react to the 1967 promotional film clip for “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough”, by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell.
Jay and Amber should react to The Supremes TV performance of their hit song, “Stone Love” on the dance music program, “Soul Train”.
I am not sure whether or not they have reacted to the Chaka Khan and Rufus song, “Tell Me Something Good”, but if they have not done so, that is another option. Any music video by George Benson would be a good choice to make. Music videos by Jody Watley or Cece Peniston are good choices as well. Sade has been reacted to a lot here, for very good reasons, as she and her group have a great body of music in their catalog. I would like to see more reactions to Anita Baker music videos. Years ago on MTV, I watched Babyface sing and play an acoustic guitar during a “Spring Break” week. Perhaps Jay and Amber could react to one of his music videos.
I hope that these R & B suggestions will help the both of you out.
