I think blynk doesn't have clear how to generate worth ... the app is really very interesting and useful but they not have the business model define ... the version 1.0 it was like freemium app but this last version is so confuse. ..i suppose they want to gain customers like companies not the common user like a person at home ... or maybe a theory could be they are looking for to be bought by another great company... it is quite different to others concepts like IFTTT cause I think it has much more users than blynk... we'll have to wait...

Blynk 2.0 beta given pro for testing so u can't differentiate the pro widgets, beta version is given free until June 25. And pervious blynk app will exist for few segment and this will be given as new app

Blynk sucks imo due to poor offline handling.. certain downtime andBlynk is stuck.. Been battling this issue since 3 months... Eventually was able to write code that reconnects but that also wasn't reliable. Also blynk uses Http/https which is not at all suitable protocol for iot. Switched to MQTT, wrote my own app which is far better looking than blynk or any other app in market and custom features.
Tldr : blynk is good for quick prototyping but for permanent /production grade projects its crap.. No internet : blynk freezes the device.. Not even able to interact physical buttons.

They are offering only 1 device for free, so the device here refers to 1 esp board or 1 relay board or it can be logged into only one phone??
I guess 1 device = 1 gpio
One device means you can use all the available pins on the board. Control as many devices you want.

This is a super cool platform. Question: can we use Blynk Server to get all services free?
Adding on that, Earlier, if we made our own local server, we get unlimited free energy which means we can use all cool widgets for FREE. Now, if we connect only one device ie free plan, over Local server and not over internet, do we get all the new pro widgets or only basic ones? Please say "More" about this aspect as that's what makes the app so much cool over other two competitors.

One question: why shouldn’t we use home assistance instead of paying 5$ for one device?
In this case we cannot control the devices out side LAN. And also we cannot set timers if i am not wrong. Port forwarding is all again a mess…
