The vibe thing kinda makes sense to me. In the movie “Fight Club” the Narrator talks about single serving friends. I feel like that all the time here in the US. It’s like, once the mutual activity is over, so is the friendship.

Most of the older western guys I met don't even think about integrating into the local culture in SE Asia. They are living there cheaply, most have an English speaking wife/girlfriend, hangout with other ex pats .They know very few locals let alone learn the local language and are integrated. I think it is really a stage of life thing. The younger you are the more you are concerned about integration, success and such.

8:20 Your absolutely right, when I was six years old (2006) on a Saturday morning Dora The Explorer aired on TV and I know this is a Nickelodeon show targeted towards girls but that’s not the point I’m making, it’s the Latin American Cultural Influence that spoke to me. Also the first Spy Kids movie gave me an Affinity for Latin American Culture at a young age.
This shows how powerful media can be to influence us at a young age and plants the seeds that develop overtime. It’s no coincidence for you either Saiyan. Good video!

I dated a Filipina from Cebu and she was nice and all however, when she learned I was Latino myself ahe would always try amd compare herself to a latina. Which after a while it started to get to me. I never told her anything about who i dated in the past or said things that would make her feel insecure.
I did say that i would prefer that she did NOT bleach her skin like hwr friends were doing. She was a little darker ( which I really liked ) and she seemed to not be happy with her skin. When we would go to the beach she would complain at getting darker. She would be obsessed with the size of her butt and what not. I told her that being a latina does not mean you would have a big butt, however, she was bring it up when we were being intimate which was a turn off.
So i was like fuk it guess i better date a latina then. The trip to Cebu was also a lot longer and was more expensive too. Than to Colombia. I will be going back down to Colombia in two mos.

In some Latin America countries half of the population has European ancestors. That's why their culture is more close to western culture.

A big problem with Columbia for a man with assests: their tax code. If you become a tax resident (183 days per year), they will clean you out. They tax global income, your social security pension, and have a wealth tax. Have a 401k? They will want a percentage of it each year.
I had my tax accountant run the numbers, and they'd hit me with more than 100k USD in taxes every year. That's 3x my US tax burden.
Most SE Asian hotspots like Thailand and the Philippines offer visas that will not tax you...

@@1879gym When looking into expat status google "countries that tax global income". This means if you become a tax resident (live there 183 days/year), all income is subject to taxation regardless of where it was earned. Depending on the country this may include your social security or private pension income.
Columbia specifically will tax up to 35% of ALL income. They do not have a tax reciprocation agreement with the US, so this may result in some degree of double taxation.
Plus Columbia has a 3% wealth tax. Bank savings, checking, CDs, 401k, IRA accounts etc. Are all fair game. AND the US government will provide them this information upon request...
Some places that do not tax global income have other money pits. Costa Rica will require you "contribute" to the national health insurance plan, for the low low rate of 19% of your income.
If you like the Latin culture/vibe, Mexico, Panama, Nicaragua, Bolivia and Uruguay can be good options. As always do your homework. Google search tax laws, visa options, etc.
Generally speaking, countries tend to tax global income as the rule not the exception. Hope this helps.

@@Lawrencerice As someone who resided in Costa Rica for YEARS, I have some facts to share. USA veterans, who receive disability from the VA and/or from SSI , they do not have to pay anything to Costa Rica in any way.
The amount required to pay to Costa Rica for health care (Casa de Seguro) is a standard amount but not a percentage of your disability. But, you can also get your medical care in approved CR medical care installations that cater to veterans and the VA in the USA will pay . You can present that to immigration to try to circumvent or down right void out your duty to Caja de Seguros
Also, if your earnings are in Crypto, you are safe and sound, since there is no standard legal statue on that yet in CR.

Hi Saiyan Chan, glad you made a whole video on my question, I really appreciate that and I agree most of your observation except weather , I am originally from Indian region and I can tell you that we have places where we have minus 40 and plus 40 degree temperature at the same time so somewhere in India it will be plus 40 and at the same time another place will be minus 40 , fortunately I have visited Malaysia Thailand Singapore Hong Kong and China so I have a little idea about all these places , my specific question was about the attitude of women towards men in general in these countries , In my observation they are not feminist as women in Europe and US/Canada , most of them are loyal , they accept men as head of family, need them and respect them and want to grow family and live with it and most of the times they even sacrifice their on carrier and personnel things for family , I was asking you to analyze these exact points , lastly I live in Canada and I believe living in America give you an edge because Spanish is the second official language in America but in Canada we have French and most of us have no idea about Spanish but in US you can find large number of Spanish speaking communities which make it easier to learn language. and lastly thanks for correction its Colombia not Columbia , we have a province in Canada named British Columbia and until then I don't even realize both have different spelling 🙂

USA has no real advantage for spanish learning. Today we can connect with anyone anywhere in the world online. I have been around spanish speaking communities all my life, have best friends and girlfriends that are bilingual but they all speak to me in english. Even when I tried to speak spanish when I was learning, most of them would automatically switch to english after hearing me speak. It wasn't until I decided to actively learn spanish and connect with other language enthusiasts online and outside my local community that I was able to practice. Being in close proximity to a community has no bearing unless we are fully immersed with no other language option.

If you move to a place where people only speak Spanish then of course it makes a difference. You're not going to be more immersed just by being in the USA because English is still the primary language. We don't learn languages by passively listening or reading. It requires active participation no matter where you live.

@@tanweerahmed6861 Lol, not really. M M is 100% right here. Where I live they offer Spanish in school once you start high school (around age 14 usually), but before then, no one bothers. It's also such a fast language that just randomly picking it up from people around you is nearly impossible since you have no clue what they are talking about. It's not like they are going to point to the library then make finger walking gestures when they tell their friend _"caminó a la biblioteca"_ and all the words come out in 1.3 seconds.
I'd say about half of the 450K people within a 35 mile radius of me speak Portuguese. About 25% speak Spanish, and I barely speak a word of either, and that's with a year of Spanish in High School after taking 2 years of French (go figure). My entire father's side of the family spoke Portuguese as they were either born their or Brazil. Again, they simply did not teach me, and since pretty much everyone speaks English, that's what they spoke around almost everyone.
Trust me, I sincerely wish that you were correct. I wish that schools here started teaching foreign languages at age 5 or 6 like most other semi/wealthy first world countries do (and a good portion of the less fortunate financially as well). I suppose if you grow up in an area that is 90% 1rst generation Hispanics it would be like you imagine it is since most would not speak English that well and their communities *first* language would be Spanish, but like I said, the majority of people are just going to switch to English as soon as they hear you fumbling with espaniol. They don't have the patience to deal with our sorry asses butchering their language when they typically speak English quite well.
Yeah, we are snooty as heck language-wise here, and if you don't learn it young from family, you are typically sol since our education system just isn't up to par and others don't want to deal with silly gringos garbling their language if they don't have to. So just like you, Babbel is our friend. If you already speak French then *YOU* actually have a leg up as it is much closer to Spanish than English. You've also already trained your brain to swap words in a _Romance_ language, which does make it objectively easier than someone learning a second language for the first time, especially if you learned to speak French before you were an adult (the earlier you learned French as a second language, the easier it _should_ be. Probably still a pain in the ass, but hey almost everything that's worth doing has at least a little bother along the way).
Good luck to ya my friend. Or Buena suerte ti amigo... err, something like that.

Apart from that, certainly latino culture is closer to western culture than the Asian cultures. Furthermore, Thai, Lao, Khmer or Vietnamese is much more difficult to learn than Spanish

OK, this is nuts. I've been thinking about traveling abroad, possibly to find a partner, possibly just for a vacation as I haven't taken a real one in over a decade. Yes, I took vacations when I was married but every fricken one, including my bloody honeymoon, was myself, my ex-wife, her sister (twin), my niece, and my ex-brother-in-law. That was at minimum, and I *ALWAYS* ended up being the one who was responsible for taking care of whatever kids were there since everyone was always trashed before the plane landed. Now, after a brutal divorce that took almost 5 years, I took a the last year and a half to get my life pieced back together, managed to pay off my house which had 23 years left on the mortgage when the divorce was finalized (She kept the paid off condo + 5 years of fees paid in advance of course) along with all my CC bills and other debts I was saddled with. Bleh, no need for a life story here.
Anyway, what's nuts? I just checked for direct flights out of Boston to Columbia and literally could not find 1 going into the middle of May. Every one had at least an hour and a half layover in Miami, with most being 9-*18 hour* layovers. Lol, ugh. At the same time, it's less expensive than a flight to LA, so that's a plus. I'd like to learn Spanish first as well as I'd rather not rely on an ap for everything. Kinda kills the mood on a date. ~speaks slowly..._"Can you please repeat that into the mic on my phone shug? I hav no clue what you said..."_ I doubt I'll be fluent by the time I'm ready to head out as I was planning on closing for the last two weeks of the month to give my guys some vacation time after the ridiculous amount of work they've had through the CV-19 issue (I run a home and small business networking LLC) so the time off is no big deal, and I could have one of my guys run the place for a couple of weeks since if I'm going to go I'd like to stay for at least a month to get a feel for it.
Why go all the way to Columbia? I've *never* had a problem with getting women. At the same time, after going through a divorce in the US, there is no way on God's green Earth I'd even entertain marrying someone from the US again. I'm still in decent shape for my age and make _just_ enough money to still get women in the US into bed, but again, there's no way I'm going on more than a few dates with them regardless. The risk is just way, way to high. I'd also rather not be a 60-year-old bachelor, so that puts me in quite the conundrum.
On the negative side, I don't think I could consider actually moving anywhere until my son was at least 18 (he's going to be 12 in a couple of weeks), and moving someone back to the US could very well just lead back to the same perils that seeing a woman in the US can. I'd looked at the Philippines, got my passport ready, then realized that even if I did meet someone fantastic in one of my trips, did I really want to move to Asia? Heh, I'm whining about a potential 14 hour trip, I'm all set with a 24 hour one if I have to get back for an emergency, and a private flight is a lot more than $2k and the cost of fuel from there. Then it's also about $10K to bring them back here, which again, isn't a deal breaker, but then there's the whole thing about having to deal with the US legal system if they decide they're all set with you (well me in this case) after a few years.
Ahh well, quite a bit to think about, but that advantage to being close to the US is pretty darn important. At least to me. Even if it means getting a hotel for the night in Miami. I know Columbia isn't next door, but I'd have thought finding a direct flight would be a bit easier...First things first though, time to sign up for Babbel.

I get where Saiyan is coming from with his preference! He’s Asian and finds Asian women boring and many Asian men are enthralled by Latinas. I’m a white Latino and don’t like Latinas very much. Asian babes get me more excited 😅
Colombia does have a lot of beautiful women in all shapes, sizes , and colors.
Colombia’s advantage to me is the short flight to the east coast of the USA and the climate.

Asian women in the Philippines are generally submissive due to Spanish band American colonial rule. It's sad in many ways but if they trust you they will be there for you though the worst of times. Latinos have too much drama.

Bro your so wrong on so many levels. In Colombia every time a foreigner leaves his house he has a target on his back in the Philippines it so much better so much different the woman are so much more attractive and kinder. Plus Colombias government made the visa process so difficult and expensive in the Philippines you can stay 3 years then border jump and stay another 3 years. Colombia has shit beaches Philippines has the most gorgeous beaches on the planet. The only thing that sucks is expensive flights and 24 hours or more is what’s brutal

Nope. I'm no fan of Salsa, but Cali has taken it away years ago from PR. I'm from San Antonio Texas and we actually listen to a lot of Cumbias compared to Colombia, Mexicans in the South have kinda taken Cumbias and have made it theirs. Cumbias came from Colombia, but I didn't hear it played that much in Colombia.

@@albertomelendez9848 someone is salty. Salsa started in NY. Got big in Peurto rico and Cuba and became massive in Colombia. Theres a reason why the big peurto rican salsa singers would dream of playing in colombia. Bigger market, bigger industry and more money. Cali is the capital of salsa. People come from all over the world to dance salsa in Cali and not San Juan
