that was great. I'm housebound due to chronic illness so I love watching your videos. I used to be a great walker and explorer but these days all I can do is watch other folks do it, and your vids are the best 🙂
So sorry to hear that! Must be so tough. If you can afford it or if it’s covered by benefits you should consider hiring an Occupational Therapist. They are trained experts specifically to help people like you get out and about. I know how inaccessible Scotland is.
"Looking back at Dundee in the sun, it's beautiful..." are words I can't imagine being said. I might go with: "Dundee is the Stockton on Tees (or Hartlepool) of Scotland". Now for the rest of the video and memories of St Andrews where father-in-law studied and played a LOT of golf, and Arbroath where my wife spent her summer holidays with Grannie + Grandpa...
Thank you so much for these videos - I am awe struck by your determination and energy. I am almost housebound so I would never experience these locations and views without your effort and expertise in producing such wonderful videos. "See you later!!"
While at junior school in NW London, in the 70's, a good friend of mine moved down from Broughty Ferry. I've followed Dundee's football results ever since (he was a fan) and it's great to finally see where he was raised 👍
...... superb. The scenery was incredibly beautiful. My armchair walk was tiring too, pausing twice to put the kettle on, I was knackered. Well done you two, great stuff.😎🍻☯️
I’m off for a long soak in the bath, a takeaway and a pint before a long sleep after watching that. I’m totally exhausted after just watching the two of you complete that punishing walk. Congratulations on a year in Montrose and completing the Angus 😅
Thanks Steve. An entire hour to enjoy the beauty of Scotland and your witty, and sometimes droll, commentary. Keep up the great work. Cheers from SF Bay Area.
Great seeing Steve and Alicia enjoying a "wee" walk together in beautiful Scotland! Those cliffs and inlets north of Arbroath are particularly glorious.
How can I explain how much I love this video? Thank you Steve and Alicja for making the hard part for us! I've really enjoyed the beautiful sceneries from my comfy home! Answering to your question: no, I don't think I'll ever do that, that's why I enjoyed it so much in this video, I only missed the smell of the sea and the wind, but it felt like to be with you both in this beautiful adventure (also the everlasting fear of missing open pubs or café ahahahha). cheers!!
You know how to improve my weekend ❤ my favourite TH-camrs doing what they do best sharing the beautiful Scotland I love. Thanks guys and keep em coming ❤
I've stayed in the hotel at Lunan, the beach and castle have a great history, thanks for doing the Angus coastal path, especially the view of the cliffs.
Just picked up this video today 16 Oct 24. Enjoyed it very much. You and Alicja are very entertaining to walk with from my sofa here in south London with a tartan rug on my knees. Thank you for being so fit and healthy. You live in a great country.
Wow you are quite the hikers!!😮 I rather envy you both. I'm not able to walk any distance due to two car accidents. I was paralyzed for a couple of months. Scary time so it is amazing to watch you both. Amazing trail.
During the sixties I would spend my summer holidays in Montrose as my mother was from Christies Lane, Montrose. As a youngster I always wanted to go to Scurdie Ness lighthouse but never managed to. 50 years later I finally made it to the lighthouse and seeing you both passing it brought back memories. Great video again, I was tired just watching you both!!
5:22 The old North Carr light ship. I remember seeing it every year when we went on holiday up at Anstruther in the 80's/early 90's. Was a museum and you could walk around it and had mannequines in various states of work etc. Very nostalgic seeing it :D
New Patreons/subs here, Steve- hubby found you. We're in Minnesota (US) and adore your channel. You have an excellent way of informing with humor, and giving us glimpses to cities, countries and continents that we won't get to in our lifetime! We had an enormous day of yardwork that left us spent, and as we watched last night, I felt myself having tired legs just from WATCHING you and Alicja walking 51.5 miles!!!!😂😂😂 We got a wee tear when you walked past Carnoustie- our eldest daughter is a collegiate golf coach, and in 2013 she was handpicked to play a Collegiate style Ryder Cup in Scotland representing 12 female college golfers from the US. She played Carnoustie, AND St. Andrews, and at SA, she shot an 82! (Collegiate players play from the men's tees, so this girl got game:-)) Thank you so much for your quality videos, your guided tours and commentary- we hope every episode that you find the best chippy in town!! God bless you both- Jack and Kitty (Catherine) Gray
Firstly thank you SO much for supporting the channel! We LOVE making these videos and it just blows my mind the support we get THANK YOU! And wow good on your daughter! She must be able to strike a golf ball! I remember Carnoustie being the first course I played with my plastic clubs as a 4 year old, and that was my game at its best :D Thanks again guys!
Sorry if this message comes through twice. I was saying how much I look forward to a new video from you...makes my day. I'm off to Egypt on monday, so we'll see how that Adventure goes...for sure i wont be doing as much walking as you guys (least i hope not)😵💫
Auchmithie was a playground my family used starting back in the early 60's my fathers younger sister was married to Gordon Mitchell who was head master of the Arbirlot school in the hills just outside of Arbroath! Wow Lunan bay another great place! So many happy memories! Thank you so much steve! I will have to go up again before 'I pop me clogs ;0)

What a stunning coastline. Alicia really did well with navigating. Shame that you couldn't find a way out from the beach at Auchmithie. We enjoyed every minute of your adventure. Well done to you and Alicia, you both deserve a medal for that one.

@@steve-marshHi.... wonderful videos! How can I purchase your book as a Christmas present for my wife please? Anywhere local? We live in Aberdeen. Thankyou.
So good to find this. I've been in and out of hospital in Czech Republic over the last 2 months and I missed it. Great to see you on the Arbroath Cliffs, been there more than a few times, best part of the journey. You definitely missed the low tide in Aucmithie for walking round the bottom of the cliffs, it looks completely different with the tide out.
Well done you two! I really appreciate the way you let us see the exhausting parts as well as the fun. It makes the videos so relatable! Thanks for sharing your amazing walks!
Always look forward to your videos, some I’ve watched more than once. Great work both of you, you do all the hard work, while we sit with our feet up & enjoy the journey 😊
What a phenomenal adventure! You really carried the team on your back for this one! Huge props for the days of walking (and up those cliffs!!) 😮 The scenery and stops along the way were so enjoyable. Many thanks for giving us this video. 🤗
Great to see thanks. I’ve visited several spots along it many times but never taken the whole path. Some of the stretches of path further north, in Aberdeenshire/Kincardine are favourite stretches of ours. Notably Dunnotar/Foulsheugh, around Inverbervie and particularly around Johnshaven. Usually followed by dinner at either the Anchor in Johnshaven or the Marine in Stonehaven to round off a lovely walk.
Lovely walks and caves .The bakery we use to go to pick roles up for breakfast lovely very smell and when i smell it in a bakery it takes me back to that bakery in Arbroath .
Another great video. I think your best videos are when you go two go exploring together. Your different personalities work together really well. Hugh respect to whoever does your editing. A one hour long video makes for a lot of work. Keep it up guys, I look forward to your videos each Saturday.
I just love Saturday mornings, lol! Thank you for another fantastic vlog showcasing this beautiful country!!! That's a lot of miles for the two of you to cover so again thank you as I would never ever see any of this without you. My very favorite part was definitely Auchmithie, the cliffs and the caves. Spectacular!!! Have a wonderful week!!!
Steve, you're inspiring me now! I couldn't manage to walk even a fraction of the whole thing, but the area round the City Dock in Dundee looks interesting and might be within my capability, if I gave my self plenty of time! The bit between Broughty Ferry and Balmossie is probably just about do-able too, or between there and Monifeith, whose beach is a real walk down memory lane...! (I can't do the whole distance from Broughty, unfortunately - as I didn't have much energy left just walking from the town to the castle, there...). The railways stations at Balmossie, Barry Links and Golf Street are served by just two trains a day in each direction - a frequency that doubled after many years of just one a day, a few years ago... As I expect you'll know, such minimal services are usually provided at wayside stations the railway would ideally like to close, but doesn't want the expense of going through the lengthy legal procedures of doing so, and so they're known as "parliamentary" trains - intended solely to meet a minimum legal requirement in order that a station remains technically open. They did have at least a 2-hourly service running most of the working day until 1992, when most of the Dundee - Arbroath local trains were withdrawn to facilitate faster Aberdeen services in the run-up to the privatisation of British Rail - and for a dozen or so years, even the very centrally-placed Broughty Ferry station had only three or four trains a day. (Originally running from Dundee East (closed 1952, along with Easthaven, Elliott Junction, St Vigean's, Inverkeilour, Lunan & Usan stations), most of the trains originated in St Andrews thereafter, running via Tayport and Dundee until those lines were closed in the 1960s, thanks to both Dr Beeching and the construction of the Tay Road Bridge). I take it you're also aware that the latter is also built upon infilled docks where it lands in Dundee? Dock Street was previously right at the water's edge, hosting both road and rail traffic - as a single line ran along its' quayside, providing a physical connection for goods traffic between Dundee's East and West (terminal) Stations. Thanks also for the Auchmithie detour - I've also not been there but heard is is very picturesque - and now I know why! Oooh, those dunes at Montrose! (Apologies - it was a particularly memorable school trip, the best part of 50 years ago...!)
Absolutely love you videos and learning a lot about the Scotland I have yet to see. Did a motorcycle ride in 2019 pre COVID. Tried to get to my grans old home town Kirkintuloc . Sorry for the spelling . Missed it unfortunately. Good excuse to return.
what a beautiful hike. Surprisingly ‘unscottish’ with the fields and more flat parts with the sea view. Cosy villages, a real marble. Thx to both of you !
I know you might not have been feeling emotional after that one but I think we both were at the end haha! It never fails to amaze me how many little beautiful spots are literally on our door steps if you just go out looking for them, I've discovered so many little things to see even here in Dundee thanks to your videos and obviously out with as well. A fantastic route and so many stunning sights to go out and see!
My mum’s originally from Forfar (about as far away from the coast as you can get in Angus) but we did go to a lot of these places with my granny when I was a child! Especially Dundee and Broughty Ferry. Thanks for sharing, Steve.
Oh, my goodness that was wonderful. You know when you are both hungry so am I? I am getting a bit chunky eating with you every week! I love the time we spend together. Bless you for making every Saturday so special. I love the area you chose to build your dreams and start your lives. Sending ravens, light, and love. Merry Ann Mac from Minnesota
Great vid . Really bonnie coastline , surprising how many wee hamlets there is to visit . Ive actually done a bit of rock climbing on the elephant which was brilliant fun .
Wow guys! That's a heck of a lot of steps in 3 days. My feet were aching watching this. LOL. Alicja, you are right. That little blue and white cottage at Ethie Haven IS perfect. What a view. What a location. We love your walking videos. Well, we love all your videos really. Have a great week. Looking forward to "joining you" for the next adventure. - Sandi & Greg H

Superb comment mate, thanks! And we were so glad to finally get to Auchmithie!
Amazing effort guys, what a walk that was👍Another cracking video Steve, Scotland at its best👌
Cheers Rab! Great to get to know our own wee stretch of coastline!
I'd feel emotional after watching a one hour video, well done :D

My mum’s originally from Forfar (about as far away from the coast as you can get in Angus) but we did go to a lot of these places with my granny when I was a child! Especially Dundee and Broughty Ferry. Thanks for sharing, Steve.
Great video, I loved cycling from Arbroath back to Fife on a lot of the route you have covered.🏴
Omg! Unbelievable! You both are so ambious to do all that! 🎉 beyond my comprehension let alone do an 1/100 th of that!
