In comparison to select stages and their respective mini-bosses throughout, "Dragon Bat" was a walk in the park. Actually thought that final screen sequence was more like a Galaga or Gyruss "bonus stage", in fact. Arcade games and console ports of some of said titles in a simpler video game era were just such good of a time to be alive for their pick-up-and-go playability and challenge. I'm thankful they survive in emulation nowadays after the favor of classic arcade rooms experienced their slow yet steady demise. Preservation is so pivotal for that reason!
The difficulty curve is all over the place - there are lots of easy sections (or even stretches of "dead air" where no enemies spawn), but occasionally the game *really* wants you dead.
