Funy how when you're a bit familiar with this subject, the first glance into a cockpit can tell you from what nation it is (in the ww2 era), they are all very typical. Especially german, from russian from together british and US, then with a few more look into detail you can tell US from british (which are the most alike) with for exemple the typical left/right slip indicator typical of the brits and so on ( the compass, temperature gages etc). ps: Sorry if my could be bad english blured what I was meaning (french here).
Fully agree! You can definitely tell from which country each of the aircrafts are. I agree, the compass and temperature gauges are uniquely British, but I think so is the flight instruments sixpack, it is almost identical in every British WWII aircraft. Don't worry, your English is very good!
This might not be relevant, but I have the Virtavia Hampden for X -Plane, and I love it! A challenge to fly properly (i.e. not crash) but very rewarding when you get it right.
Since there isn't a classic flyby view preset that's sadly a weak point of many MSFS aircraft. It'll be interesting to see if that changes in MSFS 2024!
Another excellent vid. and a huge surprise as you say! I hoping that someone will do an Anson and the Mosquito is long overdue :) It's good to see the more less well known types modelled in the sim.
Thank you very much! I'm glad you like it =) A big yes to both of those! I also wouldn't mind having both, the fighter and the bomber version of the Mosquito =) Fully agree, I'm always happy to see unusual/ relatively unknown types in the sim.
Went out and bought this one after watching your video yesterday then took it out on a warbird group flight last night. Had a blast flying it in VR, going flat out at low level through the mountains near Yellowstone. Feels a bit like flying the P-38 with the big yoke in a single seat cockpit. Definitely a large step up in quality for Virtavia, if only they had done some of their other releases to this level.
I'm glad to hear you enjoy it too =) That sounds like a great flight! I agree it does, like the older brother of a P-38...slower and a bit sluggish but still a lot of fun. Yeah, especially the Tigercat which is one of my favorite aircraft, I really hope Virtavia will update their version or someone else will bring a good one to the sim.
Very interesting, thank you! Is there any campaigns available for this plane? Can I get historically accurate bombing missions of 1940-1942 for Hampden?
I'm glad you like it =) Thank you! No, at the moment there are no campaigns available for it and the bombs are also purely static. Maybe someone on flightsim.to will create missions for it. But even then, you'll only be able to recreate the routes without using weapons.
Have you changed the colour palette, or the map, for these videos? Just curious because they always appear slightly more saturated than what I see with default. Maybe I'm imagining it? (I also have BB's Old Warden)
I'm not sure if Rex AccuSeason has anything to do with it, but I don't think so. You can choose between warm, neutral and cold colors and I've set it to neutral. My prefered setting for sunset flights is to set the weather to scattered clouds and then move the lowest cloud layer up by a 2000-3000 feet and lower the density of each layer. Then I set the time to around 8pm or in the case of this video I set the date to September and set the time to around 6pm-ish to still have a few people standing around Old Warden. It really makes the colors pop =)
Yeah, they aren't perfect but already much, much better than on Virtavia's Tigercat. I agree, I'm always happy to see unusual or rare planes in the sim =)
The flight model is great =) I agree the sounds could use some more tweaking, but they are already much, much better then the sounds of previous Virtavia releases.
MSFS2024 is just around the corner. I asked for a MSFS2020 Combat Flight Simulator edition and was shot down on takeoff. I wonder if maybe some wise soul will make this happen with 2024 edition.
I think it's sadly not likely. Since you're not even allowed to display non-functional guns or dummy-bombs on Marketplace-releases. But I would also love to see a a Combat Flight Simulator edition.

Same, absolutely love the XP11 module. Such a cool airplane and very fun to land it fully loaded.
Great to hear that the X-Plane version is good too! It would be interesting to see how the flight models of the MSFS and X-Plane versions compare.
OOOhh not sure on that flyby sound package !!!

An Anson, yes please! I think we may be waiting a while. I did never expect to see a Hampdon though.

@@robertormes2178 yeah probably. But as you said the Hampden also came as a surprise. So let's hope 🤞

Throw in the Avro Lancaster, the DeHavillan Mosquito and...hmmm perhaps the Blenheim as well, and I'd be dancing the jig standing on my head!! 😅😂😅
I would love to see all three of them! At least a Lancaster is in development for MSFS =)
well done!
Thank you very much! I'm glad you like it =)
I love aircraft from this era (1930s through to early War).
Me too! It's one of my favorite aviation eras. When I was still in kindergarten the Lufthansa Ju-52 was the airplane that got me hooked to aviation =)
Wow, must get this.
It's a fun plane and one I didn't expect to see in the sim =)

@@vintagesimulations Thanks for the info. Interesting. That formula certainly works 👍
@@woodyw9798 my pleasure! Glad to hear it works for you too =)
Sound may need a bit of work, but grat that such a less popular aircraft is available

Bizzare engine sound
They are a bit unusual, but for some reason I quite like them.
The flight model looks fantastic! But the sound files need attention especially the engine start up.

No sabía que fueron los Hampdens los que atacaron Berlín en 1940. Gracias por la información.
They would have lost the BoB anyway tbh. They weren't making much headway.
