    Dang man. This was my Simulator dream, as a kid. Back when Janes F-18 and Falcon 4.0 were a thing. Though, the ultimate dream would be a cockpit this realistic for a Tomcat.
    Seriously, incredible work. If I had this thing, I'm not sure I'd get much else in my life, done.

    Your cable management is amazing; WOW!!!
    Unless it's your profession; not that many people can produce that quality of work .

      That’s a compliment coming from you. Thank you! I certainly spared no expense in just doing the wiring. I’m pretty sure I spent over 4000 just wiring it.

    The YT algorithm did us both a solid by suggesting this video...I got to see an amazing cockpit build that I'm totally not envious of🤥...yeah...let's go with that😉🤣...and you gained a new sub!
    It's been dream of mine to build a fully realistic F-16 simpit ever since I got my hands on the binder version of Falcon 4.0 back in 1999. Unfortunately because of work/life/financial prioritization issues, I have always been lagging way behind in having/upgrading my PC to keep up with the current technology/graphics quality upgrades. But now thing$ are looking better, so I will be looking to build a new PC that can handle BMS and DCS in the next year. Gotta get back into F4 and put some warheads through virtual foreheads!😎👍

      @RainmanHST  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ha ha excellent. It sounds like we are from the same generation of simming my friend. If you look in that binder you will see my name in the back as one of the beta testers back in the day. lol. So like you it’s always been a dream of mine as well. 23 years later and I am still flying Falcon so it only made sense to embark on this journey and built this cockpit.

    Hello, I really like your throttle that came with the cockpit and I was wondering if the rdr slew cursor is a force transducer axis or if it is a normal, movable axis that has free movement and some throw to it, similar to an xbox controller.

    • @RainmanHST
      @RainmanHST  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No the radar cursor moves like the Thrustmaster Cougar radar cursor. It is not force transducer.

    Its fantastic cockpit design . Really really I like it. But i think there is so many pcbs and cables. Was it necessary? I made a cockpit ( its not like yours. Your cockpit number one) , fully functional . It works bms and dcs. But i didnt use so many pcbs and so many cables. My cockpit is very conservative.

    • @RainmanHST
      @RainmanHST  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well it’s necessary when you are using all real parts like I am. Further more my cockpit is designed for modular reasons and change. If I need to change or overhaul everything I just have to re-wire the avionics box that each panel is routed to.

  • @neok23

    could you iterate on how the boards are run? what is pokes aic from beta inovations? How does it interface with the pc? is it sending key presses or is it normal usb hid?

    • @RainmanHST
      @RainmanHST  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Unfortunately AIC and BI are no longer in development. They were developed by community members, and are mostly specific to Falcon/BMS. They mostly are running my gauges and indicator lights. All my switches etc are controlled via Pokeys 57U boards. These are very powerful little input/output boards that can do almost anything.

    • @neok23
      @neok23 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RainmanHST thanks I will check those out. You are using dvi monitor connectors with your cableing? All those white wires you are using, what kind are those?

    • @RainmanHST
      @RainmanHST  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@neok23 the connectors are just DB9, 15, 25, and 37 connectors. They are cheap and can be purchased almost anywhere. The wire is good quality wiring either 22 AWG or 20 AWG depending on the application. I went with a little heavier wire than I needed to make sure they didn’t heat up. I went with stranded wire as it’s easier for bending etc.
