I found that it's fairly easy with stick, just let go of it to return to neutral, then down and *rotate* to either straight up or up-left/right. After a few minutes in training, I could do Hyde's hjc combo consistently.
5b Counterhit. Basically if you hit the opponent in the startup of their move or after the invulnerability of their reversal. It leaves the opponent in slightly more hit stun and does more damage
