    Wow! Just heard back from Green Chef! Their chicken is always ABF in all meals and so is their pork! The rep said no need to upgrade. Their beef is grass fed and only therapeutic use of antibiotics is allowed. So that is good news. All fish (they sent a list) are farm raised, except for scallops which are wild caught. I don't know why it is not on the site.

      Wow that’s really cool to hear! Thank you for sharing that info

    Looked sooo good! You cook very well. The onions were perfectly caramelized and the meats were perfect too. I looked into it on the site and it turns out the meats are not ABF. They promise their produce and eggs are organic but the meat is conventional, just like Factor. That is a problem for me! I just looked around at many and actually most of the home delivered meals and it looks, in fact, like NONE of them even have antibiotic free chicken. I'm shocked now. Because you eat it every day, not just once in a while. I think some used to be but now none of them are anymore.

      Thanks Shari! Regarding the ABF, Green Chef* does have an option to swap your protein out for organic protein (both beef and chicken were options I saw!). It does cost a bit extra

      @@laurynfromtheLAB Oh! That is great news! I just emailed them to ask about that. Or I guess if it is more cost effective, you could use your own organic meat. Getting complicated... Lol!

    Your review made me look around at boxed meal deliveries but I agreed with your comment that it may be better to go with Factor because it is the same price after all without all the work cooking. I found one service that looked like a cross of the two and it was Gobble. They have already prepared sauces that you only have to pour in as you prepare and prepared flavored butters, etc., so it is almost like prepared meals. But it is about $15 a person. Then again, they use ABF meats (maybe) and to me, that is worth the extra I guess but they are very vague about which meats. They say chicken is ABF but about pork they say only "hormone free" and hormones are illegal in pork in the US anyway. So I think it is only the chicken. Then they have a couple of "Premium" meals each week that look good. They are things like duck or halibut or snapper or scallops or sliced steak. Not THAT fancy. But they don't tell you anywhere how much more they cost so I had to call and found out why. They charge $50 and change for the two "premium" meals! That is $25 each meal! For that you could go out to one of the better restaurants in your city. Factor is "only" $20 (additional $6.99 for white fish) and $9.99 for a so called whole fillet mignon). IDK They don't have a lot of selections either. But it is easier and like a cross between prepared and a box service.

      Ooh thanks for bringing that up! I should try gobble next

    Sorry, one more comment/question. You said its the same per person $12 as Factor but don't you have to buy TWO with the box services, so $24 for each selection? So not as good for one person...

      I have it set for 4 meals for 4 people and it’s $11.99 per meal! They just accidentally sent me 2 boxes instead of 1 for week 1!

    Lol.......Fuzziness......Nope..... Not going cut fuzz off my meals, staying with the Factor 🙂 meals. The portions do look big and the meals look pretty good. How's the per meal cost and how's the chicken quality?

    • @laurynfromtheLAB
      @laurynfromtheLAB  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      At the moment it’s about $11 per meal, the same as factor! Not worth it for cost, but I do love trying new recipes so far. It’s been giving me ideas… I’ve had GreenChef before too, almost 2 years ago now. Back then, I’d get spoiled veggies/herbs more often

    • @laurynfromtheLAB

      The chicken quality is the same as hello fresh, it’s not free range but it’s better than frozen/prepackaged cheap chicken

      @@laurynfromtheLAB I love the Factor chicken Breast and Salmon Quality....the Beef patty and steaks are also good so far ........Can you tell us how the Quality of the Green meals meats compare to Factors meats when your doing your next Green reviews. It's all about the quality for me. I would be willing to sacrifice 20 - 30 minutes of prep time if ingredients and meat qualities were better than Factor but, F_ seems to have every food box beat In my opinion. Thanks for reviewing like a real foodie. 👍
