Just a small point... In radial artery filling can occur by itself because of high positive pressure of 120 mmhg... Pull the piston beforehand and the syringe will fill it by itself... If it doesn't it represents a venous blood.
Any air left in the syringe may alter the blood gas composition of the sample, hence make sure no air in the syringe only heparin, also while heparinising the syringe avoid shaking it, which is commonly done in routine practice.
Thank you so much sir for this video. These videos are really helping me in my Internship in doing these procedures. This channel content is excellent !!! Please continue to make such videos sir! 👌👌 🙏
Superb sir, but I have suffered the risk of ABG when I have admitted in the Narayana Hospital in Barasat....It is a great video for knowledge sharing to people....Thanks a lot
its great to see such a small needle for an arterial puncture which I think is best, most people don't.. for people who don't know 2 small veins accompany the radial artery so be careful when you puncture, it can be venous blood.
thinking about having an artery puncture was always scary to me. when i had leukemia last year, i had to have one due to infection.... i didn't feel anything, i didn't even feel the puncture. i wonder how that was possible. the respiratory therapist was just .... excellent
Excellent explanation....Thank you so much sir....Teach us about bedside ultrasound, echocardiogram , lung scan,......Teach us about modes of mechanical ventilation , ICU MONITOR MACHINES, ...😊😊😊
Thank you so much for your awesome video it's very easy to understand and through your all videos I got so many information about medical studies and very helpful for practical side also .... actually i want to take oet exam but I am in very primary level ,I want to take bank score in first attempt . kindly i need help from you for learning the things in easy manner
oh it's so hard & painful to a patient extracting blood sample from artery, I've been a witness to this many times to my mother & sister during their hospital's confinement that even a doctor couldn't easily extract blood from their wrist artery that they have to repeat procedure many times so hurting to watch😮😮😮 so sad they were now in heaven few years ago...
He is such an excellent teacher. He makes everything sound so interesting and so quick to the point.
Excellent video sir! I'm glad I watched this yesterday as I was asked to perform one in the morning today. Thank you!

Not 100 percent accurate
No. Make sure there is no air, only Heparin in the syringe before starting.
What if by mistake air enters into the artery?
Any air left in the syringe may alter the blood gas composition of the sample, hence make sure no air in the syringe only heparin, also while heparinising the syringe avoid shaking it, which is commonly done in routine practice.
