If you increase the speed by gear, it will reduce the output torque. We need to measure the actual torque needed by the generator and match with the torque of turbine and then calculate the gear ratio needed. That would definitely increase the output to maximum level possible. Or increase the size of generator, low RPM machines have lesser maintenance hassle.
Bro you don't need to submerge the motor it could of been fixed to the top big issues with waterproofing after 1 day even tho what you going to use it for that probably take a week to charge a 12v battery
A guy in bihar was fed up with power cuts so he used jugaad with a generator and made his own power station at nearby river. Now he sells electricity to 20 houses in his village. Perhaps now govt will ask him to pay tax on it.
@@davey2k12 Unfortunately i do not live near river where i work, nor there is any river in my native place. There is a lake 2 km from my house. The water from that lake flows with good force under a cement bridge but it belongs to the govt. They dont even allow fishing there.

With the risk that you will incur huge costs for land acquisition for dam construction, heavy equipment rental, planning, etc
