This might be my one chance to reach out to someone I thought was so cool in the day, I'm 56 y.o. on 8/2, so please tell Gregg He still has fans. Tell him God Bless for me, please. Toughest dude from that era, man.😊
:😅
Was this taped at Marriott in Maui? Looks familiar?!
Greg Valentine is so interesting to listen to. He's been in the business forever and knows just about every story, every angle and every wrestler that has ever been. Just an extremely knowledgeable ambassador of professional wrestling.
The Hammer seems to me to be the most well adjusted former superstar wrestler I've ever seen. He is not jaded, being a 2nd generation wrestler, he knew the business. He doesn't like to talk bad about his contemporaries, just a Solid guy.
Duggans the same.
What a fantastic interview. So many great stories. Greg seems like a good man.
Yep, I loved the inside elbow to the knee. Peace ✌️ to the Hammer Valentine. Thanks for the memories they were the best years of wrestling.
Love the honesty vibe here. Respect to Mr. Valentine.
Mr Hammer, you give a Great interview. Love your stuff throughout the years.Thankyou.❤
This was fantastic!
First Valentine match I saw was the dog collar match vs Roddy Piper from Starrcade 83, and my god...
Watch his matches from 1978 into the early 80s
I love Greg the hammer, he's actually my 1st WWF toy the LJN brand
I Love these stories awesome interviews.
Greg The Hammer Valentine, hello the young lad I used to set up the ring in the fort Lauderdale armory on Friday nights, and it's in your whistle there quite a few times and, you and your dad were icon in, it was a pleasure watching you perform.
If said this before, but I love watching your interviews on here. Whenever you come to Indy, I'm coming to meet you in person. You were a huge part of my childhood "Hammer". I come back here at least once a month to see if they've downloaded another interview with you.
One of the best!
I love Greg Valentine back in the mid Atlantic nwa days
Never forget the Dog collar match😢,Back then,I knew no script.You won,but wow😮.
Chain dog collar hammer Greg valentine/rowdy Roddy piper legendary match
Vince taking the WWF national was anathema to other promoters, hard-core fans, and some wrestlers. But if he didn't do it, someone else eventually would have.
Legend⚡
Rick Rude was looks like Don Frye
There is definite similarities
Foreman was 38 not in his 50's .
Hi bre Hello
I think Valentine has - tinnitus , cuz he keeps digging in his ear during the interview. That fn SUX btw, i hear that it's like " someone yelling in your ear all the time. Makes life miserable. He probably got it from all the bumps he took for 25 years. Kicks in the head, pile drivers gone wrong, countless chops etc
Ghb is not nice and you need to measure bery carefully...still big on the gay scene...
I understand what Valentine is saying about hitting someone and not necessarily meaning to.
I had a friend heckling me for hours one time, and it got old after a bit. He eventually said something that triggered me to knock him in the dirt.... he was shocked and so was I
Greg is one of the most down to earth superstars ever, very believable guy..
I spoke to Greg's wife before she's a super sweetheart and I share the same birthday with Greg
you don't get to that 'wrestling heaven' being a good guy, you get there be being covered in Jesus sacrifice on the cross.
I hated The Hammer as a kid, but now that I'm an old head who loves the heels and the psychology of wrestling, I'm a big fan of Greg and his work.
Greg still has the best hair in the business 💯
I watched Greg jump off the ropes and break his wrist during a tag team match in the early eighties. This happened early in the match, and this tough son of a gun didn't miss a beat. I mean you could see Greg land on his wrist and it folded back to his arm. Sure he babied it the rest of the match, but my God. I became a Hammer fan at that moment. He always gave 100%.
(I think we use Vincent Kennedy for junior nowadays when we mean to distinguish between he and Sr, who we do still call Senior) 5:35
If Greg would loose weight he would look just like he did 25 years ago. He has kept his health. I'm glad to see he still.looks like he did.
When guys of his age lose weight, it doesn't look good. He's doing very well compared to most
Great heel. Knew about him through Apter mags. When I finally saw him on WWWF tv wearing an "I broke Wahoo's leg" t-shirt, threatening Jay Strongbow, that was an "Oh s#! t" moment for me for sure.
I just watched the Wahoo feud recently and it was intense to say the least. Late 70’s, early 80’s Greg was a machine
Greg "the nut buster" Valentine - doesnt have the same ring to it. Its amazing how much Greg looks like his dad at this age. Seems like he is well adjusted guy.
Gregg, I want you to know my favorite tag- team was "Hammer" and (Jim ) "The Anvil " Nidhardt. (Oakland Raiders, man!).
Gregg, you are as real as it gets. 👍💪💪💪
Oh snap I forget Rotunda an Spivey team........trash
Valentine vs Piper . Classic
Ultimate form of respect. In 1991, Valentine, whose peak years were behind him, recently turned face and fought on TV the IC Champ Curt Hennig, in his WWF Prime, befire his back injury. Valentine controlled the whole pace of the match.
Chief Jay Strongbow was Not Native American He was an Italian named Joe Scarpa, now Wahoo McDaniel was the REAL DEAL!
Vince McMahon jr. Was one of the greatest announcers
With Jesse was the greatest, nobody else was so good at being a heel announcer, those that grew up listening to Jerry lawler suffered terribly, horrible voice, horrible stupid jokes, garbage… Jesse had a voice that demanded attention.
He came across as an equal, he never came across as an employee or someone afraid of losing his job, he knew what worked and played it perfectly.
@@dachronicalalittlebitofeve6630 Jesse was awesome too so was macho man when he was on the broadcast table with vince

This is about Greg Valentine not Vince McMahon. Greg's greatest matches were not in The WWF but for The NWA and Mid Atlantic.
The Hammer was one of the greatest of all time
The angle with Tito was one of my all time favorite feuds.
go trump! he knows. hammer pays attention and doesnt fall groomed by the state media like the brainwashed trump haters
Valentine vs. Piper Dog Collar Match
Love Greg Valentine but he looks too much like Mama Fertelli from the Goonies
One of the best wrestling historians from the good days!
The real hammer .my friends father took us to see him at the Olympic .Los Angeles
Met Valentine at a con one time. Very nice dude.
LOL! When there is a legendary punk rock band called GHB it should be a clue that stuff will mess you up!
GBH my dude
Jack Tunny?
Greg valentine
Greg was my all-time favorite wrestler!!!!
Why the hell wouldn’t Studd work it out with Andre beforehand? It had to be well known how to deal with Andre. “I’m gonna challenge your status as the biggest of the big, I’m gonna try to steal your thunder. You’re gonna put me in my place and win. Great story. Sound good?”
Needs to put the shin guard on during the interview
I think Andre was wrong about the Studd thing. When they got in the ring Andre was clearly far bigger and would go over every time. He needed Studd out there acting like an equal just to maintain fan interest.
WrestleMania 1 was free on showtime because my grandma had cable tv and i stayed with her that night and we watched it together but after that it was for a cost
Ivan putski was one of the early musle bond guys
Greg Thanks for So many Years of entertainment I'm 60 so I follower Ya Whole Career Loved the 4Arm Upper cut
As a kid, when he came to WWWF and was breaking legs, I feared for Bob Backlund. Real menacing promos, too. He was leaving comic con with Brutus in NYC 10,12 years ago and I was with my kids and I yelled something fannish to him that he probably didn’t understand from the street noise, but he gave me a quick glare that made me feel like an intimidated ten year old for a split second. Then he smirked and kept walking.
Some of the bloodiest matches ever are valentine verses flair in 70s and 80s
The dog collar match with Piper was vicious.
The dream team look like two angry lesbians
Vince mcmhon Jr. WWE now.
Mr Hammer I have watched you I'm 61years old I from the beginning You are a massive dude
