I think that as much as Italy played terribly, we should congratulate North Macedonia for beating a team over 60 rankings ahead of them.
Our team had the passion to try and reach the world cup for the first time in our life and our team has been the best we ever seen we many talents aswell having one of the top goalkeepers of Laliga. We won against Germany the same way by playing passively and hitting them on the counter i will admit that our team has done one of the best counterattacking football i have seen from such a small team country and team that were are.

Reasons Italy are out of the world cup:
1. No deecent striker, Immobile can't cut it with the national team.
2. Injuries to key players: Chiesa, Chiellini, Bonucci, Spinazolla
3. Roberto Mancini should've changed tactics and have an alternative to 4-3-3. Amount of shots on target and possession don't win games, goals do.
4. Not enough italians playing in UCL or Europa league. Few italian clubs make it past the group stages and even fewer Italians play for those clubs.
5. After the Euros win new faces should've been introduced since Italy was always lacking the clinical finishing.

Number 2 is the key reason, they won the euro with the help of donnarumma, verratti, jorginho, barella and locatelli, but 4 of them are definitely the key

@@Lmafaoooo Oh wow! This is my first time speaking with an Italian. Anyways bro, as you assumed we are Italy supporters as well. I thought Euro 2020 victory was beginning of a new hope. But it's so disastrous for me to see them miss the World Cup 2x in a row, while being former World Champions.
The problem is that in Italy we complain a lot when something like this happens but then we don't take actions to prevent such disappointments from happening again. We are not doing much to grow local, young talents in big teams so very few of them get the chance to compete for important objectives. Players like Chiesa or Barella playing constantly in the first team of a big team are rare examples. In the past we had top italian players leading the big teams but this is not happening anymore. Emerging teams like Atalanta are doing a better job at launching young italians, but it's not yet enough. We need to do more and better than this.

It's the injuries and cockiness of Manccini's decisions. He saved his better players for Portugal thinking there was no way they could loose to North Macedonia, but unfortunately Italy's luck ran out and all the pieces fell into place for Macedonia. Honestly, even if they beat North Macedonia, I doubt they would've beaten Portugal since they weren't close to being at 100% strength and the old guys now being a year older.
They need to learn from their mistakes and build their team around the World Cup schedule now that they finally won a Euro.

Cutrone of Milan really had a nose for goals but was banked because of Higuaín or Piątek with all he knows, he never has anything to show for his clubs. Successful is a bit of a stretch. Historically they are one of the best but they haven’t won a World Cup since 2006. Before that they hadn’t won since 1982, and before that they hadn’t won since 1938. They have these stretches of mediocrity quite a lot, it’s super weird.
