    Getting more and more used to parks cheaping out when it comes to the stations, but man, this is a whole other level. Even the shade tarps are limited. Forget how bad that is for the guests, the poor employees who have to work on it, in the direct sunlight, all day. It's just really sad.

      California moment. Luckily the park is right on the water and San Diego doesn't really get super hot to begin with. But yeah, it should have a real station. I think this was a victim of pandemic cost-cutting. Let's just be glad it got built at all!

    I agree on all counts. They just need theming now. I wish they had worked in a splash, to more closely fit their penguin theme, but that would have sacrificed an inversion.

    When I saw the first renders of the layout I thought that this was a design to be cloned on parks around the world. A great compact full-package layout for a dive coaster. And hearing from you that this is a better version of the european layouts, wich I also found very complete (specially Oblivion Black Hole and Valkirya) makes me think that the Dive Coaster may come back again to the markets, this time for small to medium parks.

      Magic Mountain needs a dive coaster. But it will have four drops.
      The first drop at 90°, will go straight out of the station.
      The second drop at 96°, will be followed by a Immelmann and a Zero-G roll.
      The third drop at 85°, will be followed by a 360° Loop and a Dive Loop.
      And the final drop at 75°, will be followed by a Flat Spin, a Norwegian Loop or Vice Versa, a Splash Down and an Inline Twist.

    I would tend to agree. Haven't been overseas, but been on all North American dives and this was my favorite. Your comment about MCBR is spot on. It's kind of like how Goliath feels so much quicker than some of the other hypers without the MCBR.

      It's funny how Goliath at Six Flags Over Georgia is well-known for its great pacing and the lack of a mid-course break run, but Goliath at Magic Mountain is notorious for its mid-course break run which almost brings the ride to a complete stop every time.

    Im a huge fan of this ride. its the only b&m dive I have ridden so i'm kinda worried I will be disappointed when I eventually ride the others, but emperor is a blast! I still think I prefer Hangtime but its not by much. I think it just comes down to the fact that Hangtime has better and more airtime. But I love Emperor definitely an awesome coaster!!1

      @JBMetalProductions ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Silver Bullet at Knotts is a B&M if you've ridden on that one. Hang Time is not a B&M, its made by Gerslauer.

    • @jakebulmer8698
      @jakebulmer8698 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@VECTOR_Coasters Yukon up until the brake run is basically the same distance as the entirety of Emperor. Yukon has the way bigger drop , tunnnel, greater speed, and 4 inversions with fast pacing back to back that take up 80% of the ride. The brake run and what's after it is only there so the ride can have a third train and increased capacity. Yukon is better then Emperor hands down.

    • @OklahomaCoasterFan
      @OklahomaCoasterFan 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@VECTOR_Coasters It seems strange to me to see a ride as better by removing elements that aren't uncomfortable or painful. You could just pretend that nothing happened after the 5/6-course brake run on Yukon Striker. I like the airtime on the small drop and the hill that follows, and the helix has decent visuals. Those 3 elements may not do much, but it adds a little to the ride for me.

    Not sure if it's just a tall person thing, but the B&M over shoulder restraints always staple me to the seat and actually hurt pretty bad before the ride even starts. During the ride it's usually all I can focus on. With the new vest restraints, I'm able to actually enjoy and focus on the ride experience. I wasn't getting airtime anyway.

    Emperor is like a mini Yukon Striker. Yukon striker all the way up until the brake run is bigger faster and has element after element just like emperor. Haven't ridden emperor, and my only dive coasters are Yukon and Valravn. I can tell that Emperor is better then Valravn by the pov and pacing, but I'd still say Yukon is a good sized step above Emperor. Can't wait to ride Shiekra at BGT this January. As well as compare Steel Vengeance to Iron Gwazi.

    EDIT: Yeah I guess i spoke too soon you just said its way better than shiekra lmao Ill have to use my sea world platinum pass and check this ride out. From the POV of Emporor though it looks slower than Electric Eal

      @OklahomaCoasterFan 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I always get good airtime with vest restraints too. It's actually not hard. If coaster youtubers would stop stapling themselves with the vests, they'd get the airtime.
      It would seem that a vast majority of people prefer vest restraints. Most people who watch coaster youtubers will prefer the headbanging restraints, but that's because the more experienced coaster riders will know how to manage those restraints (and they also think they way they're told to think). The general public, who truly bring in the money for the parks, don't ride coasters enough to know how to avoid headbanging, so they love the vests.
