    Man brother took me to Biloxi during Thanksgiving and mind you we were drunk too 😅 I never heard of the game until I played it with him and he explained the rules of the bonus. I bought in $200 and ended up winning 5k that night. I made it to 1.5k, took a break and came back and played some more. On my last hand I made a $50 bet on trips, and $50 ante/bet and did a blind 4x so $200 on a risky hand of 5/8 off suit. Flop came out one 5, and luckily two more 5's came out for me to hit quads....man that payout was good as hell 😁

      @@CEGDealerSchool Hi, I really like your videos. Was thinking if it is better for grinding not to play trips at all or not (also Prime for Three Card Poker)?; And Is it a good idea to use Martingale on every lose and getting back to the start after win? Was interested if you have ever tried to use Martingale in Ultimate or TCP. Thanks

      @@montyblunt Wizard of Odds recommends to stay away from Trips since it’s still a side sucker bet that nearly doubles the house advantage. I’ve had better long term success not betting Trips, but some enjoy it since it can be quite lucrative if you hit a lot of hot hands. My casino has the $1 progressive which I do play because Heaven help me if I hit a Royal and didn’t bet that.

    If you can’t bet the flop after raising pre flop. Why not just raise pairs 66-AA or AJ or better ?? Raise to 3-4x and anything else just check and raise 2x on flop and turn when you hit a pair. That’s the better strategy

    @ 8:19 in the video you had a Q high vs a board of K,10,8,5,3. Dealer only had 19 outs, 3 of each board card and 4xA's. You should have played per basic strategy. Anything under 21 is a play.

    • @ronalddump4061
      @ronalddump4061 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was only a Q6, so technically one could say that if the dealer might have a Q hi, that could give 2 more outs giving her 21 outs instead of 19. (This "21 simple outs" thing is a good general rule, it is admittedly not perfect)
      But if i play this game and have any Q hi, i generally go by my general rule that if there is an A, K, or any pair on the board it is a call, except for the instance where there is also any 4 to a straight, or 4 to a flush on the board.
      So, good general rules: If you have an A, or K hi always call
      If you have a Q hi, call if there is at least one overcard, or any pair on the board
      If you have a jack hi, call if there are any 2 overcards, or a smaller pair, plus one overcard.
      If you have a 10 hi, call if there are at least 3 overcards, or 2 overs and a pair, or 2 pairs one being an overpair. Etc
      If you have a 9 hi, just generally, if there are at least any 4 overs on the board it is a call, but if 4 of those overs are an open ender straight draw, and there is no straight on the board, it isnt a call
      One must get these general rules in mind, because we are not going to sit there and figure outs each time.
      The vast majority of folks playing this game do not process the 21 outs thing, and also do not raise preflop when they should. I even know people who dont raise an AK preflop. In heads up poker, an AK is a HUGE hand.
      All these people are doing is playing for the trips bet, and other bonus bets, which makes for a game with a HUGE house edge. But it is a decent carnival game if you avoid the trips and other bonus bets, and bet prefop accordingly. That is, if you desire to play carnival games. I personally avoid games where there is zero chance to have a player edge, so i try to stick to real poker, an card counting BJ -- but that usually eventually gets one barred from BJ, no matter how much they may like you
      Btw, once in WA state, a cute Vietnamese girl came to my table, sat down beside me, eyed my large stack of chips, started stroking my inner thigh, and asked me if i wanted to go out in the parking lot and play some BJ in my pu. I did, but it ended up losing me a bit of money. The dealer was leering when i came back in and resumed playing

    If you can check before the flop, why would you not always check unless you have something crazy like a pocket pair or Ace King suited. It seems like seeing a free flop is almost always the smart play.

    • @jakekoons3035
      @jakekoons3035 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because the sooner the bet, the more you can bet. If you have pocket aces and don’t bet pre flop, you can only bet 2x ur original bet. Where as if you bet pre flop you can bet 4x

    • @ronalddump4061
      @ronalddump4061 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Because this is heads up poker where your preflop hands are worth more than if you were sitting at a table with 8 other players.
      For instance, at UTH, that K5 is going to win a tiny bit over 1/2 the time, so over the long haul if you always raise it you are going to be a little ahead for doing that
      whereas at real poker i am probably going the throw that hand away every time preflop
      If you have a hand that is going to win over 50% of the time, your "free flop" is not really free, because you could have won more money on it most of the time if you had raised preflop

  • @jimmyjunk2337
    @jimmyjunk2337 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    the only thing you are doing wrong here is NOT paying your PLAY when you have a 9 high or higher. You also have to remember that dealer is basically a blind and has no control of what two cards they have. The house has a advantage if you automatically give up your money and fold. If you already have about 20 dollars total and just give it up because you have 9 high is a mistake. For example in this video you would have won 2 or 3 times just with 9 high which is my point. The house can easily have 23 off

  • @eggshan86

    This game is extremely frustrating. I sat at a table for three hours and only had one straight and a low pair. Meanwhile everyone around me was hitting trips,Straits ,flushes Etc. I think the trip bet is a stupid waste of money. You're only going to hit that 80% of the time if that. Like I said I sat at a table for three hours and only had one straight and a low pair.

    I made 4 k tonight and this is the absolute worst strategy betting 4x on off suited jack somethings lol
    I play 25 on trips and 75-150 on bet. At least when you win, your winning and not pushing when you checking to the end. I find my self going 4x on queens, kings aces and a/K only. 2 x on anything middle pair or higher or if my pocket pair is better then middle cars on the flop. I fold any hands with a pair of 2s and BAD kicker like a 3-5. I don’t even 2x on open needed straights, flush’s. If you pair a high card on flop, go 2x. When you have nothing and 9 and lower, fold. If you have high cards and the board has a pair I still play. And when the board has 2 pairs I play with 10 or higher to out kick the fifth card from the dealer

    Technically you have to play to get payed on the trips. Because in a casino if you fold you’re basically admitting that you don’t have anything in you hand to get payed on the trips bet. Even if it’s in the board.

    • @DickBurnsTFM
      @DickBurnsTFM 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I never do side bets so I don’t know exactly, but on my casinos website where it says how to play it says folding forfeits the ante and blind and it later says the trips wager is paid regardless of winning or losing the hand. Sounds ambiguous. Worst case scenario if you’re a rated player they will probably let it go once and tell you in the future you have to stay in the hand.

    • @BlakeSmith-jh1hj
      @BlakeSmith-jh1hj 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DickBurnsTFM As I've been to more casinos now, what I originally said isn't true. My hometown casinos makes you play to get paid on the trips, but in other casinos in my area you can tuck your cards under the trips and still get paid. Very stupid rule to make someone play a losing hand in my opinion.
