I love the vicar hurrying the young people from the authorities outside 😂 And it is sad the way it touches on dementia (well, lands and leads on) but the end does show them to be real so that’s how I view it.

I think that the village is a composite.the gate onto the lane looks familiar to one of the villages near me now around Dorchester, but plenty of country houses and old vicarages looked like that around Somerset when I was living there in the 80's&90's. Have you tried googling for the location? Sometimes you can find something listed?
The breakdown is my favourite and I am discusted that they have taken it off without any explanation West Country tales please who ever is responsible for taking the missing tales off could you at least have the decency to explain why you have done this very angry about this situation
No, the ghosts were only meant to be visible to Miss Constipation and the Nosey Neighbour .. the Vicar just went along with it all to keep the peace and to go along with the Auld Battleaxe, to settle her nerves .. But when the Nosey Neighbour said he had seen them too .. the Vicar about crapped his black frock !
She was the complete opposite of 'an old battle-axe '!. She was a sweet, rather fragile, quiet, gentle, frightened and lonely old lady. A battle-axe is a loud, domineering bossy sort of woman. The vicar had no such disgusting response,he was merely baffled and concerned. You obviously have no experience of English vicars especially the old fashioned sort who did practice pastoral care for the village and saw all sorts of human life.
Why have you taken the breakdown off the screen I would very much like to know not happy as this was my favourite in West Country tales please have the decency to deploy thank you
All of these West Country Tales are supposedly based upon true accounts that people reported or heard about, so basically myths really.. Now I hate to be a killjoy but has anyone tried to de-bunk this one with a rational explanation to how the neighbour at the end of the tale could have scared the vicar enough with the knowledge he had about the young people with white faces ?.. I can explain easily, but I need to know if anyone else has thought the same as me . . Anyone ?
