Haneul Park is the most popular of the five parks situated in World Cup Park which was built to commemorate the 17th FIFA World Cup. Like its name Haneul, which means "sky" in Korean, the park is situated on the highest part of World Cup Park and offers breathtaking views of Seoul. Once a landfill, Haneul Park is an incredible example of ecological and urban regeneration. The annual Silver Grass Festival at Haneul Park is one of the city's most popular events. It is held each October when the silver grass is in bloom. Silver grass is also known as eulalia or pampas grass. The park can be reached by climbing up a wooden stairway that boasts 291 steps or by taking a ride on the park's electric tram.

This was a GREAT video! Someone mentioned in the chat the beginning looked like a movie trailer...they are right. Your presentations these days are really off the charts!
This walk was so beautiful and appealing. The views ascending the stairs are so pleasant it seems to make the climb worth the effort.
Once you got to the top Nature just took over and it was hard to know where to look first. Is it weird to describe the grass as elegant??....ok maybe, but you can't deny it provokes a feeling of leisure walking on the paths through it (geez, this virus better end soon, I gotta get out more...LOL!)
Anyway, I enjoyed the lookout spot, the structure was interesting and it provided some really great views of the river and the city.

(What a beautiful park, very green and very peaceful, and the view from the hill is also very beautiful to see.👋👋👋👋).
This place was part of a public park development in Seoul a few years back. The idea was to redevelop unused or abandoned government facilities and return them to nature. Each park has a theme - this one the sky, one up in the northern part of Seoul - water, etc (this park was a garbage landfill, one up in the north was an abandoned sewage treating facility).
The black bars on the Korean flag around the pepsi(?) mark represents earth, water, sky and fire and the pepsi mark represents harmony (yin and yang). These developments are placed around Seoul to represent the elements, with Seoul city itself representing harmony. Quite magnificent if you know the backstory.

This is my favorite place. I enjoyed camping here last summer. This was originally a garbage island called Nanjido. Even now, the effluent and gas are ejected.

조회수는 생각보다 적지만 그래도 이런 여유로운 자연 풍경이 힐링되고 좋은 거 같음.
여덟살때 이후로 서울에서만 쭉 살았는데 이런 풍경 보면 서울이 아닌 딴 세상 같고
뭔가 어릴 시절로 돌아간 듯 한 꿈을 꾸는 느낌임. 당시 남산 밑 보광동에 잠깐 살았는데
동네 형이랑 지금의 강남인 당시 온통 논밭이였던 말죽거리까지 가서 딱 한 번 개구리
잡던 기억도 나고, 어쨌든 당시엔 서울 어디든 지금처럼 건물이 많지는 않던 시절이였음

That's the chimney of a building that disposes of waste.
To add note, this park used to be a landfill. The city decided to redevelop the area in to a park, after Seoul had been selected to host the 2002 Worldcup.
