Theres nothing better than an Enduro Bike...
    Works fine for:
    - Motocross
    - Enduro
    - Stuntriding
    - Supermoto
    - Cruising on the Streets

Lots of vibrations for the street, especially without a cushion drive hub. WR aren't as bad as other enduros, though. 2-strokes are a bit less not that they're easy to find for street these days.

Any modern 450 trail bike will be fun on the track. They all have strong power and adjustable suspension, plus the trail bike chassis are designed to protect the rider from fatigue (soft mounts for engine and handlebars, etc). The wide ratio gearboxes (compared to track bikes) will not be an issue since the powerbands are very broad, plus you won't actually be racing on a trail bike so we are only about having fun. I just bought a very clean used 2016 WR450F and can't wait to get it out there. Thanks for another good video.

Great video! I used to ride the vet track on my wr250f and felt like it did fine. My current bike , 2017 KTM 500excf, is very similar in purpose to that WR 450f. And I've had a blast riding it on that vet track. The only thing better than passing a motocross bike on a bike with a headlight, is passing him with a headlight, blinkers, and a license plate!

I have a 2019 WR 450F and I do use my WR 450F on my local MX track, recreationally, with no real compromises. Most MX tracks, even my local MX track, still frowns upon on having a headlight and fixed kickstands on their MX tracks. But, I mainly bought my WR for hare scrambles and single tracks. The WR 450F matches my riding style quite well. When buying my new bike, I knew that I wanted a WR 450F or the recently discontinued RMX-450Z. I could of bought a new carry-over RMX-450Z for half the price of the WR 450F, for anyone looking to buy this type of bike.

    • @wilska8835

@@wilska8835 I believe the no headlight rule was made back when headlights were still incased in glass, and they didn't want broken glass on the track. And, I was told that people had a fear that kickstands could cause a wreck if it came down during a race. These are archaic MX rules from yesteryears and still in pratice today. It's why all MX bikes don't come with no headlights or a fixed kickstand.

    • @dreadfog

Daniel C So you’re saying MX bikes don’t have lights because of a rule. Don’t think the rule was made to keep play and trail riders from clogging up the stating gates in the 60’s and early 70’s. I’m hoping they scrap the rule ,we need motocross bikes with lights.

The bike is way more capable than most non professionals will be able to push it. Dirt is dirt. Whether you are riding aggressively on a trail or the track. For us senior members, it is a great bike to consider. Anyone who says different is kidding themselves. @@dirtniron the first thing I did was remove all the wr stuff making the same as the yz. My bike is a 2015 wr250f. I went with the 250 because I feel it will improve my race speed and keep me from being lazy like I would be on a 450. I obviously changed the ecu and maps along with any emissions. So the airbox was plugged up with the mission stuff, the throttle stop removed, the exhaust was insanely restricted, I didn't want to spend $1000 for a exhaust, so I actually gutted it myself and I had to make a little modification. The biggest problem is the gearing 1st and 2nd little bit too much Gap to 3rd. So far I haven't been able to get the gearing where I want it, but I think I can get it right still without messing with the transmission. I don't think people would have this issue with the 450, but the 250 just doesn't have the power to pull 3rd and 1st and 2nd are seriously too low. Not positive which direction to go I can either go way higher on the gearing to make 1st and 2nd usable or go way lower to use only 3rd gear and higher.i would Love to hear some opinions on which direction to go with the gearing.
So basically the 250 is taking a bit to get right for Motocross, it's definitely good but to be at the same level as the yz is work. I don't think the 450 will be any problem converting into the Motocross bike

You can tell even with the at home mods it's not set for racing. Yeah if you prefer to ride abit of everything like trails street an a little bit of track it's probably the perfect bike. The gears are set different to the Yz450f they have 6 gears instead of 5 an the sprockets would be different witch will make a big difference on an off the track that's why it's not pulling the best in 3rd out those corners. these days with the computer they are tuned for low end torque to get you up those steep hills

I just bought a brand new 2018 wr450f it only had 4 hours on it, and I’m wondering if doing those free mods it won’t make it run lean, it won’t ruin the motor or anything like that?

    • @dirtniron
      @dirtniron  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

it will make it little leaner but not too much there was no popping and backfiring, I would highly recommend to get new mapping.. look into it, not that difficult.. for 2018 you can probably get new ECU for around $130 .. check my 2019 wr450f playlist.. I did all those changes and testing there

Wrf 250 or 450 for forest and sometimes streets? I like 250's better in forest because it is light and some other benefits, but I think it'll be slow on the road... 450 is good too, but I'm worried that it's too much power in the forest and can't use it at it's limits... I'm riding rmz250 set up for trials and want to buy wrf, thoughts?
