@neocult26 Sue, I was severe. Inwas breathing through one side of my nose for 39 years. Surgeon said my nose was complicated. But now, all I can say is Wow.
This is a great video and very helpful in explaining what FESS surgery does. I had this surgery just two days ago and can already feel relief in my temples and forehead even though my nose is completely blocked. I’m looking forward to a huge increase in quality of life!
I had a complicated surgery last week on my sinuses and at the moment I can breathe much better than before and I'm glad I made this choice even if I'm still bleeding, it was worth it
my god... do what your doctor says. you *dont* want to do this surgery twice. take your medicine even after surgery. they will and can come back, even worse.
I am going to have this surgery in a few months. I have eosinophilic asthma and I'm told that there is a high probability the polyps will return. I'm not worried about the surgery, even with the risks but the most depressing part of it is that the problem will probably return. The ENT Doctor who will be doing my surgery mentioned that he would like to be able to prescribe biologics (injections) but they're not yet available for my kind of case in the health authority area where I live.
@@MarcoMadridista - As I went through our National Health Service, I got delayed. Good timing for you to ask because I had the FESS procedure on Monday - 11 March. It seems to have gone very well I think. I was told it was a long operation as there was a lot to do. I also lost a lot of blood. Despite all that, I don't have any facial bruising or swelling, which I am pleasantly surprised about. The main thing that was stressed to me is doing nasal washes with saline water three times a day - to get any blood and blood clots out. I quickly found out that the small ampules of saline water the hospital provided along with a syringe were not going to be sufficient... I already had a rechargeable nasal washer gismo so just had to buy 5 litres of sterile water and suitable salt off Amazon, next day delivery. That did the trick in terms of getting some quite big blood clots out. Each day sees less and less blood and blood clots being removed. The surgeon told me that it's really important because any blood clots left behind will scab over and be a blockage. Looking forward, the only concern is if and when the polyps return. However, even if they do return at some point, there is a relatively minor surgery that will remove them - minor because the major work only needs to be done once. Or... our NHS in my area will start funding biologics injections, which would be great.
I’m having this but. I suffer with bad nose bleeds and will be having cautery on my nose ontop of the surgery so think I’m more nervous watching this now
@@bujari6364 first couple weeks were painful till they pulled out the prosthesis inside, now 2 months later I am breathing really well! One problem tho, is about the part above nose, which needs to be cleaned once in a while from the moist

I’m considering this, considering that sinus congestion runs in my family.
I suggest you to look up for balloon sinuplasty.
It was minor surgery
