This album effected what my sense is of what I do in our 'open' music group called BMY. It confirmed a certain worldview as valid. It shows a rightness in leaving behind certain performance orthodoxies/traditional demands. AA breaks away from the massive influence of Miles and Coltrane is how I would put it, paralleling O Coleman breaking from song form, Armstrong from New Orleans collectivity, Parker from Swing phrasing. As well, I hear conveyance of friendship rather than pleasantness, whole-body sourcing rather than 'head', the urge to Burn over to just Flow. More obviously, Akinmusire sounds like he can do literally anything on the trumpet, which I would also claim for our BMY trumpet master, Mr Patrick Boyle, by the way. If anyone wants to discuss this, I can impart more specifics. This is just a broad outline about what a find this CD is!
Probably in reference to the idea that Jesus is interpreted as a white man by the general populus. And his imagined figure is so much easier for everybody to make statues of or paintings of or drawings. Because most people have that preconceived notion that he was a white man with brown hair.
@@jeffersongrigg893 even not really in the light of race but i guess the title indicates the idea of grasping the true nature of the Savior knowing him or representing him on a different level then the seen but through the unseen, like music.
He is for sure to become one the greaest musicians of our time!
Masterpiece!!

Am I crazy for thinking a collaboration with Eugene Robinson and Oxbow and Ambrose would be awesome and totally different?

What does that mean “the imagined savior is far easier to paint” any interpretations?

AA's titling, using words, expresses his having discovered his own personal music.
