17:00 she is unfortunately lying, Gwyneth's first credit is in 1989 it was the TV film "High" it was written/produced and directed by her father Bruce Paltrow. 2nd credit was with her Mother Blythe Danner at Williamstown Theatre on stage. Her 3rd credit was Hook, her Godfather is Director Steven Spielberg and he called her up personally and offered the role to her she didn't have to audition for it. Gwyneth's 4th credit in the industry is the movie "Cruel Doubt" also starring with her mother Blythe Danner.. Then she began breaking out on her own in completely unknown films 1993 "Deadly Relations" and 1994 "Flesh and Bone" then in 1995 Gwyneth starred in 7even with Brad Pitt and her career and private life took off. She was never really on her own.. She has had help from her family "network" and she has done well.
Interesting. I wanted the interviewer to follow up by asking her how she supported herself after college as I was curious how she survived if she didn't have any parental support. But now we know.
She is successful, talented, intelligent, beautiful and confident. So here comes the haters. Stephen Sackur on the other hand, sucks. Doesn't write the questions, do the research or even dress himself. He is far from Gwyneth's equal even though he thinks he is.
She really is lovely, and very very bright. Having watched 4 or 5 distinct snippets on You tube, I think I get what caused the beak between her n Brad. Over here ( UK) we 'd call it a mix of " class" n intelligence. The engagement made her see that ,simoly, she had em, he didnt. Idguess that some of that great down she had After the break was largely guilt.. A guilt that nearly lost her and us, her brilliant Viola/ juliet.in the Wonderful " Shakespeare in Love". Bless you, Gwyneth, dont leave us just yet. MalcolmW.
Ps the ultimate evidence of my "class " theory..the younger Gwynnie s delight at the tale of seeing Johnny Depp rolling a tab. It goes with the big thing inthe cheaper rags afew years back , of the young upper crust discovering beer etc an finding life more "real" down among the plebs. Ioffer as a theory, no more. MW
I do believe she worked pretty hard. The resentment people have probably also comes from the exposure she had to people in high places. Her Godfather is Steven Spielberg.
I never heard of Goop. Typical aspirational and selling to fans. I’ve never been fascinated by actors. I occasionally enjoy a movie but don’t worship entertainers. I have my own life. Lots of sex toys….
I have always loved Gywneth. As for the equal pay debate: It's a real issue, but the examples often cited are not appropriate. Case in point: The Charlize Theron case here is in regard to the sequel "Snow White and the Huntsman." In that film, Charlize is in a total running time of about ten minutes, while the film's title and focus is on the Huntsman, played by Hemsworth. In this film, Charlize was not the lead, the focus, nor did she have near the same screen time. So it's not equal work. Use a different example.
Special edition of Hard Talk, more aptly named Soft Talk... apparently anyone can sell out for celebrities... But then again, she is so pretty that it's impossible to be mean to her :-)
It's easy for people to say they want to see successful, talented women go far. But when it actually happens, both men AND women don't seem to like it so much.
I love Gwyneth Paltrow. In this interview, her mother speak about not supporting her and that she'd have to pay her way. Starts @8:28: th-cam.com/video/9MG_evmHl1g/w-d-xo.html
I was waiting for him to press her on all the pseudoscience claims about her 'wellness' products, but it never even came up at all. Being hardtalk I thought they'd have gone there.
It's because she's an attractive blonde woman...and hes...well just look at him...perving...no hard talk here... the only hard thing here is in his pants...
I do admire what Goop sets out to do and Gwyneth's business savvy. But she seems to have some trouble defending the crazy expensive and luxury prices for the majority of Goop's products.
Oh el divorcio es un espanto el caso es que mas familias destruidas mas sociedad destruida a veces veo que esta chica lo vende todo como si fuera normal 😢😢😢
Just watched his latest interview with the international criminal court...clearly biased towards america and Israel...Stephen Sackur you are as dispicaple as these above mentioned country leaders

Where's the hard talk??? :/

She's a really underrated actress.
She has an Oscar and I´m pretty sure also a Golden Globe or 2. That´s not underrated

She looks way better than she did in her 20's. Good living.
Who knew I'd be watching a long-ass advert for Goop? Don't waste your time watching this video.

There's originality in her film's.
Goob isn't a story, it was a fluff piece, a corporate advertisment plain and simple.

I don’t get why everyone hates on her and goop so much.

@@calitrimshaad2044 I really do despise her. I don't see an attractive anything about her.
What makes you call it pseudoscience? Have you researched the solid science she bases her products on?
"Welcome to Hardtalk, now here are some softballs"
FUN FACT, Stephen Sackur has never been sick (never vomited or thrown up). He mentions that in his autobiography.
Fascinating!
So, a goop ad. Bbc used to be the pinnacle of television.
I do admire what Goop sets out to do and Gwyneth's business savvy. But she seems to have some trouble defending the crazy expensive and luxury prices for the majority of Goop's products.
Just don't buy or read if they don't like it. Don't understand these mockeries and putting her down 😀
Wonderful steve

Not really a hard talk this time. Disappointed.

BBC SOFTtalk - On tonight's show, we won't be asking why Gwyneth Paltrow scams people.
She doesn’t scam people. Can you give an example of a scam?
He's not very good. Her answers are better than his questions
But not sure why Gwyneth Paltrow is on this show
Too casual a chat I thought.
Almost like Desert Island Disks minus the music and desert island.
Very good
I just lost a little piece of respect for Steven Saker. I would like to listen to an interview in respect of the "personal" view.
those eyebrows tho
This attitude of me or u looks like an ♾️
Junk
He’s too formal, like being at a job interview.
why does she remind me of ivanka trump
Her mannerisms and rate of speech remind me of Elizabeth Smart
Doesn’t look like she’s very supportive of women in the industry ... shame, thought she’d be more educated rather than borderline diplomatic
Easy interview for ne of heir own.The far left BBC.
