In an uncharacteristic move, Indian troops have acted proactively by securing tactical heights on the Kailash Range crestline. In episode 563 of Cut The Clutter, Shekhar Gupta tells you why Kailash Range is critical to the stand-off and uses satellite images & expert views to explain why Spanggur Gap and Chushul Bowl are so critical geo-strategically

Seems like China India Foreign Minister talks too have failed.
Biggest surprise and concern for me was kind of language used in Joint Statement.
Dr Jaishankar is a seasoned Diplomat and why this happened is beyond understanding or else Indian side is under too much pressure
      * Selection and Use of words bear a huge significance in diplomacy. In joint statement there is Not a single use of word "LAC" instead use of "Border Areas" is a big cause of concern. Why we have accepted to refer LAC as "border areas".
      * There has been no commitment whatsoever by Chinese side to return to status quo. Means they will sit where they are. We have a very narrow window open before winter sets in.
*Whatever strategic gains Indian Army had got by occupying strategic points at pangong tso seems washed away by this Joint Statement released by Foreign ministers of both countries.
      * Press note released by China is in contradiction with Joint Statement. Why is Indian side still silent and not objecting to contradictory seperate press note by Chinese Foreign ministry.

Buffer zones have been achieved, propaganda from Chinese have come down on border issues to economic and foreign relations of India now. India meanwhile have prioritised economy and manufacturing. The fight is still on and India knows its not a fight for the army alone, it needs much more strength in other sectors too.

Very disappointed. Sg, you prove that you are from the same lot. There is no left and right just a bunch of goons on both sides who have no interest in taking the country forward. Shiv Sena gets offended by PoK tag to Mumbai but the fact that the city hosts Asia’s largest slum offends nobody. No haste in testing or nor any ambulances arrive on time but BMC has a lot of spare time for JCBs. Next time when Left shouts fascism, the Right will cite Kangna. Seriously the house demolition was as cringeworthy as the hounding of Rhea (Irrespective of whether someone is guilty or not). Congratulations, LEFT and RIGHT you’ve achieved a rare consensus - Both of you are equally useless and do not want development. Regimes will change but India won’t.

Most mobilized divisions can’t operate there and the few that can are a small factor in the balance. The major factors are Infantry and AirPower and currently India has the upper hand in both. It’s not a matter of matching numbers on paper but an interaction of units that operate in the environment.
