3:28 The best thing about pushing for a heisman is that the media & recruit rankers don't really believe BYU has many good players. Dax Milne was 2 stars. Many players were only 2 & 3 stars. Many heisman contenders are 5 star guys on 5 star teams playing 3 star competition. 3 star guys playing 3 star competition are standing out more than the others. Also, Sagarin had BYU's SOS the same as Clemson for a few weeks. Definitely a good look for getting a top 4 spot in the playoffs.
Whether Zach can win the Heisman or not almost doesn’t matter... the hype helps recruiting. Byu lives and dies off finding low rated gems...Dax Miln is an underrated beast
@@mikerowe3776 It matters. Especially, to the players. What almost doesn't matter is if any of these kids can play in the NFL. Mormon kids will always go to BYU. The program's success over the decades proves these kids are just as good as any other. If they get the perfect storm, the trophies come, & they live on as BYU legends. BYU QB hype over the decades is real. Young, Mcmahon, Boscoe, etc. etc.
A big factor in rating players that's hard to account for is the psychological aspect. I believe a player's mind it's at least 50% of what makes them great. Sometimes being hyped as a induvidual player distracts from the rest of the team. These guys seem very humble and have the right perspective.
Always love listening to Steve Young talk BYU! Also, apropos of nothing, anyone else ever notice that Jarom could be a dead ringer for Pete Buttigieg? (SORRY JAROM!)
Steve is like that fun uncle you love to hang out with.
Love ya Steve, great to see you on BYUSN! :)
I'd love one more year of Zach with Bushman. Let's hope everyone stays healthy
I hope the 49ers draft Wilson
Now that was an enjoyable session with Steve Young and the boys. 😊

@@fuzzytabby4304 mormons are well adjusted kids, & that gives them an edge in learning the game. They think clearly, & probably handle stress well.
Fun, insightful interview. Two thumbs up.
