In Ariège, in the French Pyrenees, the Garcia have been living off their goat farm since the 1970s.
Today, they have transformed a vast area of overgrown fallow land into an ecosystem that supports them and their animals. With their wealth of experience, they welcome young people from all walks of life who wish to practice their type of breeding, and who are searching for a way of life situated at a crossroads between utopia and reality.
Our young shepherds become autonomous, revive the tradition of taking their herds to summer pastures and set up a traditional dairy to make cheese. Their vision of pastoralism soon comes up against an insensitive nit-picking bureaucratic administration. In no way inspired by the technocratic criteria or the values they associate with agribusiness, the young shepherds adapt and fight to preserve, more than a cheese facility in the mountains, but their entire life project.
