Collaborating on this cover with the286 was exciting, at a time when the world was going through a lot of sadness due to the pandemic. We met from a distance and with music we managed to accompany each other in that difficult time. 😘
You hit the right feeling spot on. Gets the same shiver down my spine as when I hear this with ELO. Heard this when I was about 12-13 years old and get the same feeling now as i did back in the 70's
Where do i start, the grace of a hoffner bass melded into the the analog perfection of a synth, smooth voices pulling this classic into the 21st century. Thankyou for this beautiful mesmerizing version of the song, a time when music meant somthing other than a bottom line

@@The286TH-cam It took 4 Beatles and George Martin to accomplish what Jeff Lynne has done musically all by himself. Of course, by popularity, The Beatles are no 1 but musically Jeff Lynne rules. I am a huge Beatles fan but Jeff Lynne is so much better with Harmonies, Orchestration, as an incredible Producer, singer and songwriter. Long live Jeff Lynne's ELO!!! Please Tour in 2022!!!

I love how the third verse's vox start late, so it sounds like a shortened verse but it's not. It's an interesting phrasing choice there, always thought that part of the song was pretty neat. I have loved this tune since I was a small child, and you guys did an absolutely fantastic job!
Yes definitely!!! I.always assumed Jeff came in late when recprding his vocal but they liked it so much they kept it. But we'll never know I guess 😅
@The286TH-cam (I can't hit reply to you for some reason) I think it may have been intentional, especially considering the second line of the third verse which is different melodically and rhythmically than anything else in the song. But if it was an accident, it was a happy one.

What’s awesome cover of a one of ELO’s best hits , I like to look up song meanings my favorite tunes , the song is beautiful enough but once you know the meaning it makes it so much better, it’s about and average guy that’s a bank teller and he’s in love with a beautiful woman he knows he’ll never get and the song is about him dreaming about her
