  • In this episode I tackle the job of stripping down my triumph 2500 engine ready for a complete overhaul unfortunately my 2000 engine in the spitfire no longer turns, rather than fix it let’s make it bigger!

Absolutely BRILLIANT video mate, I enjoyed it so much and I can't wait for the next one! I too am a younger-than-normal triumph car enthusiast and I believe I have one of these engines... If it is the same one that would have been in a TR4, although mine is in a Spartan (factory, not kit). My name's also Tom and also name my cars! My Spit is Magenta and called Jerry/Geri (it's a ladyboy), borderline roadworthy.
May I ask where you're based?

Thank you I’m glad you enjoyed the video, hopefully I’ll get some more progress done soon with a update!
My spitfire was the car that thought me about about cars there a great introduction for younger enthusiasts!
If I remember correctly the tr4 was a 4 pot likely shares a lot of set similarities, the tr6 engine however will look identical to this.
Sounds like you’ve got a couple of cool projects Megenta is a lovely colour on the spits! Don’t worry mine is too 😂
      I am Essex based.

@@TRBirdCars I really hope you do get some progress done and get a video up, it is so cool to see a fellow enthusiast pulling this motor apart and learning all the idiosyncrasies! Exactly what I want to see on youtube!
Yeah, my Spit was certainly a learning experience, not the first car I worked on but the first one I was dead set on repairing after sliding it into a ditch! Opened a whole can of worms that turned into a years long journey that took me to realms of personal development that I never would have expected! Such lovely relatively simple machines compared to what we have now.
Ah, yes, I think you're right about the 4 pot, I must have meant tr6. I get confused with all the different number and letter combinations all over the car industry. I didn't actually build the Spartan, bought it with the 2.5l straight six already in it.
Oh, I've got projects coming out of my bleeding arse, one day one of them might even be finished!
Essex is a ways off from me, I'm in Northants, but if you're ever in a pinch and need another pair of hands or what have you, give me a try, I'd be delighted to help if I can. Even if you need a cameraman!
