Really like this pick. This draft was/is a defense heavy draft but a lot of forwards went early. Fitzy could have easily traded this for a guy they’d have to pay big money for or he could have reached to draft a player (forward) who fit the teams needs more, but instead, he played it safe and took arguably the best player available, who easily could have gone 3-5 picks earlier.
Time will tell what he does in the NHL in 2+ seasons and beyond but was hoping we’d trade this pick. Clearly he’s a long term project at his size and this team shouldn’t take their contention window and core players for granted in the process. Things can always change fast
as a russian fan i would like to say that anyone who is interested in hockey in our country, especially the nhl, knows a lot about the nhl teams and their rosters and systems. maybe your observation is not unfounded, but anton's answers seem general only because of the stress (and maybe the translator. he did not translate the questions into russian correctly imho).
@@KrisStark-zr8pp yea, i think it's weird to judge the rapid-fire answers of an 18-year old kid coming from a translator. i hope that he will have really good years in the KHL for the next couple years!
Why? the devils have 2 D men in Hughes and Nemec filling that role. Why add another? He adds size,,physicality and mobility and makes the devils more dynamic and harder to play against. He adds value and grit HELLLOOOO
@@brendanwoerner3352 did you read what i put? silayev isn’t an offensive minded defenseman he’s a defensive defenseman trust me i know we need those in our system

Anton Silayev’s KHL contract doesn’t expire until the end of the 2025-26 season.
So what, he will not be ready for the NHL by then.
He can terminate it
His KHL head coach is Igor Larionov so he is in good hands.
@@vladimirkofman6990 Holy shit really?? That is awesome
He's like 17 isn't he
Stop asking Quetion the baby is lost …….😂
I don't think he knows anything about new jersey or it's players lol. Even the coach for that matter. These answers sound generic
