josh finally found his feet in the band. the ending nearly blew me away
+Triều Dương i didnt like... it was not a solo.. it repeats repeats repeats repeats for ever.... it could be way better.... there was a huge "space" where he could construct something great but.. yeah.. he wasted it again
Repeats, huh? Just like the majority of the solo in Dani California, right? It sounds good. Music is about putting the right things in the right places.
Of course man... i mean, BSSM and Mothers Milk are fucking albuns, but Californication is a classic... i think californication is for RHCP like The Number of THE Beast are to Iron Maiden
Martijn Kemperman nah. Compare this song to Higher Ground. Compare the Beatles Love Me Do to Helter Skelter. These two examples are both songs by the same band but with very different feels. Now if we take Primus and compare Tommy the Cat and Is it Luck, they both have very similar feels, fast bass and so forth. That's why I say Primus is a one trick pony. But anyways I came to listen to a song so I'll be quiet now.
Was never a big RHCP fan, so never heard this song when it came out. One day it popped up on a satellite radio station and I was hooked, and was amazed that the song is so new as well!
Sitting in my car...never listen to the radio, prefer cd's, but this once I put on radio..intro inmediately caught my attention...Bass kicks in...Fuck me this is good! Only 1 person I know has this specific funky bass flow, Flea! Anthony's voice comes through the speakers to confirm the thought....man this is so good. The song just touches me..After all these years they still kickin it big time. .respect guys.
these guys are in their late 40's and early 50's (except josh) and they can still make a cool fucken music that kids can listen to today, even when they arent born yet when Californication was release. I started listening to these guys when i was 11 when my bestfiends dad played suck my kiss while fixing his car at their garage. got totally hooked up with the whole blood sugar sex magik album. and his dad gave me the cassette tape that i have until now.
I'm their age, 54, and they could run circles around me. I am inspired when I see them in videos because they look like they are in great shape. Glad the guys are still going strong, thanks Josh for getting on board with the band, and thanks Flea, Anthony, and Chad for having him on board. And thanks to all of you for this great album, I love this song ! Played it like 6 times in a row so far this afternoon ! :D
why do you thank a god? you need to give more credit to the musicians. everything about this band is about human talent. saying a god did this takes away from the hard work these musicians put in to get this talented
God created the human beings, and gave them the talent to perform this wonderful stuff!!!! What do you call life? It just happens?? I think not! God bless you!!!
+Franciny Rodrigues I'm not saying there's a problem. Just saying that it states that we have corrupt nature, while opinions on this topic are divided :)
+Tomek Samcik Like Rousseau and Hobbes? The next sentence is like "trying to explain those human issues that we all have". I think it's about to understand why exist dark human feelings. Not a statement.
i have been listening to the chillis for 27 years now and i think this is the best song yet they are like a fine wine that just gets better the older it gets!
Wouldn't say the greatest but they've absolutely been killing it since they started. I started listening to them 16 years ago and to this day they still are my favourite band.
can we all stop with the John comments because it's been 10 years since they did an album with him, he was incredible and made them a household name for sure, but you can't deny the talent of Josh, this song reminds of several albums and B sides of the Chillis and also sounds true to Josh's sound, it's a great song through and through, Can't wait for this album to drop
i really like how the bass and the guitar switch roles in the intro. The guitar keeps playing the same thing while the bass is responsible for the melody
Flea' s funky bass riffs have been an inspiration to me since I picked up my bass 20 years ago when I was 12 years old. Thanks for the years of the enjoyment in this style of music! From one bass player to another.
FUUUUUUCK this is amazing, it almost sounds like their very early stuff like before blood sugar sex magik in the fact that it's just dirty funk and it even has fucking piano... Amazing
LOL, what ? Its sounds like 1-2 last albums (SA/I'mWY) NOT like Freaky Styley, The Uplift Mofo Party Plan, Mother's Milk or BSSM or OHM. Where is rock rap funk power ? Crazy riffs, rampageous bass, where is funk, where is diversify Anthony singing, rapping, screaming ?!
One of the few bands, prolly the only one in my experience where the bass flows distinctly with the electric guitar, and its soooo damn beautiful. They pour their heart out into the instruments. Flea slaps that damn bass spot on... bless him.
Hi....I'm 49.....listen to the Peppers since 85......Survived Slovak Death.....Frusciante's Twice exits.....this band is all about evolution.....Anthony and Flea.....Enjoy the now.....this is amazing and make me feel young as when I was in my twenties.....Get over Frusciante....he won't be coming back.....and each one has different life's paths now.......biggest Peppers song since 2007..........LOVE and Peace.....
When I first heard the bass at the beginning I thought "hmm it sounds like RHCP" after that I heard Anthony's voice and I realised that I really love these guys! I've been listening their music for 10 years (sometimes very often, sometimes less) but when I hear them I feel that it's MY BAND. I have such a special place in my heart for RHCP!

John Frusciante is undoubtedly one of the most brilliant artists of history. He represented the soul of the band. His talent put the Peppers on the map from BSSM and took off the peak after he left the group. Please, bring Frusciante back!
people say "bring frusciante back" like the band should go kiss his ass and beg him to come back. For fucks sake he left, bands change and you can't make someone do something you like just because you're a fan, if you don't like Josh don't listen to RHCP, but I'm sure you will
+freakystyley why people hate so much i'm with you? i actually liked it, it was a good style change, i like this, but it's kind of flat. Also is just a single, you can't compare a whole album with a single
That intro is absolutely perfect; absolutely epitomises the feel of the album cover. Not sure which one accentuates which one, however... it would be interesting to investigate that
+Phil Lynch Yeah, man, have you ever gone back and listened to the difference between, for example, Uplift Mofo Party Plan and I'm With You? They've been active since the '80s and it's now 2016- of course their sound has evolved. No one ever said it was a bad thing. It's refined itself with their experiences.
+Phil Lynch Do you genuinely believe think Freaky Styley, Californication, Stadium Arcadium and I'm With You (all just a few examples) sound extremely similar? They're VERY different from each other since the band (like pretty much every band ever) evolved over time. So yeah, really, they changed drastically.
I don't think it's been that drastic at all to be honest. You're making them out to be bowie-like shapeshifters that constantly reinvent themselves when really they've been doing the same thing since the mid 90s
Coming on to the light of day we got Many moons that are deep at play so I Keep an eye on the shadow smile To see what it has to say You and I both know Everything must go away What do you say? Spinning knot that is on my heart is like a Bit of light and a touch of dark you got Sneak attack from the zodiac But I see your fire spark Eat the breeze and go Blow by blow and go away What do you say Yeah [Chorus] You don't know my mind You don't know my kind Dark necessities are part of my design and Tell the world that I'm Falling from the sky Dark necessities are part of my design [Verse 2] Stumble down to the parking lot you got No time for the afterthought they're like Ice Cream for an Astronaut Well that's me looking for we Turn the corner and Find the world at your command Playing the hand Yeah [Chorus] You don't know my mind You don't know my kind Dark necessities are part of my design Tell the world that I'm Falling from the sky Dark necessities are part of my design [Interlude] Do you want this love of mine? I'm With You has a lot of piano...
Flea is originally a pianist and trumpet player, they have alot of good stuff using both
i thought the same thing like wow those clean keys sounded great . gives it a marvin gaye inner city blues vibe a little , funk forever

To see what it has to say
You and I both know
Everything must go away

You got no time for the afterthought
They're like ice cream for an astronaut
Well that's me looking for weed
Turn the corner and...
Find the world at your command
Playing the hand
[Chorus]
Yeah, you don't know my mind
You don't know my kind
Dark necessities are part of my design
Tell the world that I'm falling from the sky
Dark necessities are part of my design

Do you want this love of mine?
The darkness helps to sort the shine
Do you want it, do you want it now?
Do you want it overtime?
The darkness helps to sort the shine
Do you want it, do you want it now?
[Verse 3]
Pick you up like a paperback
With the track record of a maniac
So I'm moving in and we unpack
It's the same as yesterday
Anyway we roll
Everything must go away

+Janos Strbik Im sure i saw that artwork on tumblr years ago!
+marcychildknight whats tumblir?? this is shit sounds like another song i heard befire
they always have great art work. and always in sync with their material.
without a doubt!!! awesome album cover!
At first I really didn't like this, but now I'm digging it a lot!
Same here man
I didn't really give it a chance at first because of the lack of frusciante
Me too!!
Same, I didn't like it at first but it started to grow on me.
This is what I call ART. At first you hate
it and than you can't get enough of it.
These guys can't stop! It's like they're addicted to the shindig.
eyyy
+TheCaptain Lembra um pouco!
no...no...NOOO!!!😂
Nice
someone knows how to traduce "shindig" to spanish? thanks :)
Great album. Having a cassette of it would be awesome.
Anthony and Flea are both 53, Chad is 54, Josh is 36? He's the youngest artist to be inducted into the HoF
I thank God for the Red Hot Chili Peppers
+GurrenNogart Edgy.
why do you thank a god? you need to give more credit to the musicians. everything about this band is about human talent. saying a god did this takes away from the hard work these musicians put in to get this talented
God created the human beings, and gave them the talent to perform this wonderful stuff!!!! What do you call life? It just happens?? I think not! God bless you!!!
you are crazy lady
favourite song by far
favourite song cause your new or sumthing
or hes a newbie.
edgy? ok.. idk i guess. maybe not tho.
we played this song at my dads funeral it was one of his favorite songs from red hot chilli peppers
Sorry for your loss chin up
nukacola97 im soryy for your loss
of course u did
sorry for your loss bro.......
Wow 💘
"Dark necessities are part of my design"
What a decadent lyrics.
no much really
+Tomek Samcik i didn't understand what is the problem with the sentence
+Franciny Rodrigues I'm not saying there's a problem. Just saying that it states that we have corrupt nature, while opinions on this topic are divided :)
+Tomek Samcik Like Rousseau and Hobbes? The next sentence is like "trying to explain those human issues that we all have". I think it's about to understand why exist dark human feelings. Not a statement.
+Franciny Rodrigues Yes, that's it,, then there's "The darkness helps to sort the shine", so
a gleam of hope :)
i have been listening to the chillis for 27 years now and i think this is the best song yet they are like a fine wine that just gets better the older it gets!
meh
Album SOLD at 0:41 !
same
Can't stop bass slap
for me - even earlier, but you are right. I thought I am too old for goosebumps, but this bass proved me wrong =)
NOTHING beats a good slap bass.. when it's Flea doin' it then.. heavenly!
Dat bass.
This is completely awesome.
this fucking funky !!
+valdi vall Rad.
I used to be a fan, now I'm an air conditioner
what? xd
Right on my Brotha.
I might have to use this, haha 😂
lol
That's cool.
one of the funkiest songs they've put out
Beautiful....sounds like an old RHCP tune. Josh killed it with the frusciante-esque riffs
OH YEAH I VE BEEN WAITING YEARS FOR THIS
+silverwater92 😀😀🙌🙌🙌
every fan of them have been waiting for this song! me too
Time to TH-cam MP3 convert
+William Varguez Hell yeah, they're back, they're fucking awesome
+William Varguez it's awesome I guess but I was waiting something more like fortune faded
RADIOHEAD AND RED HOT? IN GOD WE TRUST!
HALF LIFE 3 CONFIRMED
Of all the great guitarists through this band, Josh's melody on 03.00 is one of the best things ever.produced by RHCP.
He is such a great musician!
will be released on my birthday - o how I missed RHCP.
Happy Birthday! ( :
thank you !! (-: (-: (-:
+person human
Same bday
Word1012 Chicken HAPPY BIRTHDAYY!!!
happpy birthday
I love how that guitar solo starts by just spiralling down
It's fantastic, very much like a classic John Frusciante solo. Cool as.
+MattMexor você fez com que esse solo soe ainda melhor pra mim, tks man
just read your comment when it started and i really feel the same :D
+MattMexor i like your interpretation sir!
Me too
Has a very peppers 1999 feel in my opinion. So funking groovy!
have the same feeling. It sounds iin the way I like them, but still some way to go (it has a bit the pop sound, which disturbs...)
I love it man. the funk is alive and well
Flea' s funky bass riffs have been an inspiration to me since I picked up my bass 20 years ago when I was 12 years old. Thanks for the years of the enjoyment in this style of music! From one bass player to another.
Don't ever retire. We need this kind of music in our lives!
well said
FLEA IS BACK BABYYYYYYYYYYY
with or without john frusciante ... this band is a legend
one of best song from rhcp
Kola Kola i love rhcp too. please subscribe
i actually think "The Getaway" was a better song and more worthy of a music video than this, but dark necessities is still a damn good song
Jason Armstrong Yes
Under the bridge is my favorite
@@octoocto2543 The Best
My Walkman will be happy when this audio cassette is out.

+Shrawan Regmi (Shawn) HIPSTER ALERT WEE WOO WEE WOO WEE WOO

+Shrawan Regmi (Shawn) can't wait for the 8-track and the music video on BetaMax.
LOVE YOU RHCP, good to see you having fun at The Late Late Show with James Corden
I loved the wrestling part and when they took they tops off! Unforgettable and epic!!!
+Mariana Orozco Uribe then they just break out sing at randoms points, it was gold
Full album has finally leaked! Link here: twitter.com/FreeAppsDL/status/743126850944270336
FUUUUUUCK this is amazing, it almost sounds like their very early stuff like before blood sugar sex magik in the fact that it's just dirty funk and it even has fucking piano... Amazing
Couldn't agree more.
yaaaaaaaaa boy you smash it, piano is fucking amazing, it take you very hight
+Philip Jackson they're too old now.
+Philip Jackson agree, closer to by the way and im with you than early red hot (uplift mofo or freaky styley)
One of the few bands, prolly the only one in my experience where the bass flows distinctly with the electric guitar, and its soooo damn beautiful. They pour their heart out into the instruments.
Flea slaps that damn bass spot on... bless him.
This song is just a masterpiece. It is really well layered.
I don't know why but when I first heard this song on the radio, I completely fell in love with this song.
Because the Chili Peppers resonated with your soul.
Because Red Hot Chili Peppers created the song.
Cool.
I mean this in the nicest, way, but...lol 10 years. You must be young 'un.
John is my Favorite guitar player of All time. But Josh created this masterpiece. One of the Red hots best compositions
I'm the only one to hear can't stop in this ? :) Great song.. ! from a big fan :).
lol yeah
Not the only one. And it sounds great. :D
Dimas Tgor , hey. That's a hard choice, though. I think it's the second one.
Can't Stop all the way. I play bass and couldn't help but instantly think of the can't stop bassline.
+Grant "Funky" Frabe Yeah , I'm a bassist too..! and I play a lots of RHCP songs ;)
DARK NECESSITIES
Coming on to the light of day we got
Many moons that are deep at play so I
Keep an eye on the shadow smile
To see what it has to say
You and I both know
Everything must go away
What do you say
Spinning Knot that is on my heart is like a
Bit of light in a touch of dark you got
Sneak attack from the zodiac
But I see your fire spark
Eat the breeze and go
Blow by blow and go away
What do you say
Yeah
You don’t know my mind
You don’t know my kind
Dark necessities are part of my design and
Tell the world that I’m
Falling from the sky
Dark necessities are part of my design
Stumble down to the parking lot you got
No time for the after thought they’re like
Ice Cream for an Astronaut
Well that’s me looking for we
Turn the corner and
Find the world at your command
Playing the hand
Yeah
You don’t know my mind
You don’t know my kind
Dark necessities are part of my design
Tell the world that I’m
Falling from the sky
Dark necessities are part of my design
Do you want this love of mine
Darkness helps us all to shine
Do you want it, do you want it now
Do you want it all the time
But darkness helps us all to shine
Do you want it, do you want it now
Pick you up like a paper back with the
Track record of a maniac so I
Move it in and we unpack
It’s the same as yesterday
Any way we roll
Everything must go away, what do you say
Yeah
You don’t know my mind
You don’t know my kind
Dark necessities are part of my design
Tell the world that I’m
Falling from the sky and
Dark necessities are part of my design
Thaks bro 😊
Thanks!
You're welcome! :)

Truly one of the best and most talented bands ever
I LIVE FOR THE BASS LINE
John Frusciante is undoubtedly one of the most brilliant artists of history. He represented the soul of the band. His talent put the Peppers on the map from BSSM and took off the peak after he left the group. Please, bring Frusciante back!
+Pequeno Gafanhoto (sorry for possible bad english)
+Pequeno Gafanhoto shut the fuck up, frusciante is gone get over it.
RHCP has always been about the bass. ALWAYS!
Ramazan İbrahim DURAN i just wish i had the opportunity to see them when he was on the band. :/
people say "bring frusciante back" like the band should go kiss his ass and beg him to come back. For fucks sake he left, bands change and you can't make someone do something you like just because you're a fan, if you don't like Josh don't listen to RHCP, but I'm sure you will
needles is sooo good on the bass
xD
I don't get it! :(

Awesome album is comming soon!!!
Yaaaaaaas :)
+Anar Chti . Greetings from Poland Robercie ^^ :)
IKR god this is great!
+Anar Chti Makłowicz on your avatar :P
+Paweł Łukasz
jeden jedyny :))
I actually love this song’s solo, it’s so fluid and funky, and i think this is one of the best rhcp songs ever, even though there ain’t frusciante
Easily the best song of 2016.
and_drew_123 doubt that
wow this is a huge improvement upon Im with you
Definitely 😁 Seems more focused?
agreed
Finally I can hear the guitar… it's a nice change
+freakystyley what a forgettable album that was. Spun it several times and never went back. Hope this is a return to form.
+freakystyley why people hate so much i'm with you? i actually liked it, it was a good style change, i like this, but it's kind of flat.
Also is just a single, you can't compare a whole album with a single
That intro is absolutely perfect; absolutely epitomises the feel of the album cover. Not sure which one accentuates which one, however... it would be interesting to investigate that
Chad is the bear. Josh is the girl. Flea is the raccoon. Anthony is the raven.
Chad is the bear. Josh is the girl. Flea is the raccoon. Anthony is the raven.
Chad is the bear. Josh is the girl. Flea is the raccoon. Anthony is the raven.
wrong Anthony's the bear flea the girl Josh crow Chad raccoon I can tell u why too
I can tell you that what I put is correct because it came out of Anthony kiedis mouth
This song is magical! Between the bass line, lyrics, and piano, I'm hooked!🫶
Radiohead, Blink-182 and Red Hot Chilli Peppers rose from the grave after taking a look at the charts nowadays. Not bad.
And Weezer!
+Jesse Kuhn And Biffy Clyro!
+Jesse Kuhn And Billy Talent! Shit what a great year
+ostrichgoat97 Green Day, The Offspring and Sum 41 as well!!
And Avenged Sevenfold
This is so beautiful I'm crying
When the grungy bass hits, you KNOW you got another classic RHCP song.
Thanks, Klinghoffer.
FUCKIN AMAZING. CANT WAIT FOR THE ALBUM. THANK YOU RHCP

+ITA Aran mi dispiace .... So cosa vuol dire prendere un concerto simile...

This song is a masterpiece.
One of the few bands that can change drastically over time and still sound great.
+Matthew Flood change drastically? really?
Finally good music from RHCP and RadioHead! (Thanks sweet Lord) 💪👌😍🎤🎸🎶
+Erika Escalona IKR!!!!!!
Im fucking hyped
+Erika Escalona Gorillaz are set to release a new album this year toooooo!!!

It's "weed" not "we" by the way dude. ;) Great job otherwise man. :)
Josh's guitar work all through this track is amazing!
