I always felt a bit sad for Xiaoting because she doesn’t have another Chinese member in the group to talk to. I think she was also hoping to debut with another Chinese trainee but it’s really sweet of Yujin to learn Chinese to speak with Xiaoting!

aside from the things said being really basic phrases, i don’t think she learned mandarin bc of elkie. elkie is most likely more comfortable in cantonese than mandarin since she’s from hong kong. yujin is learning mandarin for xiaoting

@@sumspingZ although it might be a different situation, all Pentagon members know a bit of mandarin (they have had chinese interviews, what's different is that Pentagon has 2 fluent mandarin speakers), so I am spectating Cube might give Mandarin lessons

Just so you know elkie is from Hong Kong. In Hong Kong, we speak in Cantonese whereas as most parts of China speaks in mandarin like Xiaoting. Despite Mandarin and Cantonese are both Chinese language, they have totally different pronunciation and grammar. So Yujin definitely learned Chinese for xiaoting but didn’t pick it up from Elkie.

Having different people in a group is like able to learn different languages and break that language barrier, moreover it’s faster to absorbed since there’s always communication in-between themselves unlike learned & no one to communicate with😅😂
