Hi Jyoti I hope you are keeping well. Loved the intellectual conversation between you two. Actually the crust of this discussion for me is that the more you are in dark place, the more hope always is needed. The CS 14 and 15 are prime examples to feel connected more with my self and the world as well. Particularly in CS 15 I was unable to speak even I did not comment on single video because I was so emotional that I could not comprehend my thoughts. I remembered Jyoti I had seen videos much later time then messaged you regarding my feedback on CS 15. Through CS 14 I could be able to express my feelings openly to the right people. I found the people whom I can talk regarding music and art like you Jyoti and also widen my sensibilities to embrace other's culture and perspectives as well. We are the people of love Xulfi rightly said in Blockbaster Magical Journey and we (Pakistani) see the world like that and this is the message to the world from us. Keep growing Jyoti and Xulfi 😊.
What I deeply appreciate about Coke Studio Pk is how it has highlighted the talents from different parts of the country, a display of the richness of its culture.
Such a beautiful conversation. Xulfi bhai you have gone to that level no one can ever imagine. You have surpassed all the motivational speakers preachers teachers…and the lives we look upon is different than his vision .
Ask Xulfi why he decided to have an uncredited vocal part right at the end of the final song of Coke Studio Pakistan 15 on Mehmaan. That’s him singing at the end of that beautiful track…
*** This question stuck with me since CS S14; why Arsalan Hasan, and Rovalio never got exposure despite being on board in the production team? Why? Furthermore, where is Adnan Dhool? I have a question. Xulfi have this thought ever crossed your mind if Coke studio Pakistan and India should collaborate, or if there must be some collaborations between the artists in some songs who are not even part of the coke studios in both countries. Because you know you might end up making something that will bridge a lot of hearts. What better way to make a bridge than building it from both ends.

Question for Xulfi: What are the artists (Musicians, Producers, lyricists etc.), that he hasn’t worked with publicly, he looks forward to working in the future seasons
:) Yes, very humble indeed. And taking out time to post spiteful comments on multiple videos of an average TH-camr, is really classy for an average faceless cowardly TH-cam user.
I think Zulfis’ philosophy of innovation, collaboration ,creativity and team work can be applied to the business world. Thanks for bringing this Talk to us- congrats!
My Interpretation of this conversation ⬇️ If you deny Art, you’ll sever the lifeblood of your own soul, leaving it to wither in a desert of untapped potential. The colors once meant to paint your spirit will dull, the music meant to echo in your heart will fade, and the stories meant to shape your being will never be told. But Art, like a wildfire denied its path, will find a way. It will seep into the cracks of time, crawling through the veins of your bloodline. The silence you created will not end with you, it will grow louder in the hearts of your descendants, an echo of all that was left undone. Deny it today, and it will haunt your generations, seeking out those brave enough to embrace what you could not.
Delighted that you have Xulfi on again, and that, too, for an extended talk. We are all fans of Xulfi, especially me, from the days of Nescafe Basement. But being a fan does not stop me from posing questions, which I hope you will ask him: Why was the decision taken to erase all Islamic, Sufi, Kalam from Coke Studio? Why are real singers and musicians sidelined? (Look what’s been done to Shazia Manzoor in “Turri Jandi”. My hope is that Xulfi listens and is able to show me where I may be wrong. (Long-winded context below :) Before Xulfi took over, Coke Studio had soared to heights that reached every part of the world - and stunned every listener. Coke Studio countered and neutralized the narrative that had brainwashed the west. The western listener had never experienced anything like this. Every soul connected to this music. We saw them moved and emotionally connect to the spiritual connection to the songs, saw the tears they were unable to hold back. The political west and the islamophobes realized Coke Studio become a powerful soft power that showed the true beauty of Islam, and saw it enter the hearts of young and old, and how our songs showed them the spirituality of Oneness.. I have seen their reactions. There are no such emotions with Season 14 and 15. These songs are danceable, yes, and visually beautiful - but nothing connects spiritually. It looks to me that Coke Studio had to be stopped from becoming the beacon that opened this Spirituality to the west. So they found a way. Make it join the platforms of Spotify and TikTok where these compromises must be made. Real musicians, real instruments have been sidelined and our music traditions diluted in favor of thwacking plastic membranes and pushing buttons and ‘singers’ without roots in traditional training (not all, of course), fronted and enhanced with artificial visuals far removed from reality. Our identity, rooted in Sufism and Islam has been deliberately and completely erased from Coke Studio, and one of the most painful things is that Xulfi (who gave us Nescafe Basement) is heading this effort. I still cannot believe it. Coke Studio seems to have sold itself to the streaming services. The vehicle (streaming) should not control the driver (content) But apparently it does, as we see in seasons 14 and now 15. The best distracting visuals cannot hide that there is nothing under the surface.
@@breakthelegacy thank you for your thoughts - this is what I like to hear: the views of other people :) “Mehman” has some exceptional singers - Nizam Toewali and of course one of my absolute favorites, Zeb Bangash. But this is a perfect example of a song that is disjointed because the instrumentations don’t seem to ‘gel’ and sort of go off into electronic space. I feel the lyrics are more ’soulful’ rather than spiritual. Tu Jhoom is an exceptional song - the only one in Season 14 and 15 that has a sufbiana reference - but that’s only because of Abida Parveen. You cannot separate that from Abida Parveen. But exceptions do not make the rule
@@qawwalli I see, perhaps we see spirituality differently. To me Tu Jhoom was all about giving up to the raza of the divine, and leaving pleasures and pain of the world and entering the Trance of submission. Mehmaan is about loving the Creator by seeing divinity and thus loving it's creation and not forgetting that we are but mere Mehmaan of this world. I didn't see "nothing under the surface". I think we will just have to believe that divinity is within all of us and when it's not explicitly labeled and boxed, we keep ourselves open to deeper connections with essential truths.
@@breakthelegacy Thank you again for your thoughtful reply! First - I want to reiterate my original questions because that was the real issue: 1. Why was the decision taken to erase all Islamic, Sufi, Kalam from Coke Studio? 2. Why are real singers and musicians sidelined? I did not want us to lose track of this. To answer your comment I will say that there is nothing wrong in believing something. But believing something does not make it Truth. Belief is subjective, but Truth is objective. The belief that ‘divinity is within us’ comes from Hinduism, New Age-ism and even Christianity (New Testament). It is not an Islamic belief. The Quran is very clear in the distinction between the Creator and the created. Subjectivity is no position at all, it changes from person to person. The Quranic position is logically and objectively verifiable. I do hope you will look deeper into this, and I would humbly ask that you re-think your position and belief on this.

Thank you Jyoti for bringing this. Now our CS season actually ends after you do a real talk with XULFI. This is one podcast where hours do not matter. The longer the merrier I say. @Xulfi. I do sense a lot of frustration and I do feel hitting head on the wall. BUT, please do know that there are people who think like you and are on the same frequency. Fortunately or unfortunately, you are the chosen one to actually do something about it. Wear the crown, but it will be heavy. I used to sleep listening to Last temptation of Christ soundtrack as well.... Especially Sandstorm :) This during the days of gig nights watching Seth and Call and Entity and Paradigm. There will always be toxic people in this world. I have been one so I know one. There was a time when anything other than metal was bad music. I think it is because we want to put a label to everything and categorize everyone. Rock, classical, Muslim, Hindu, pakistani, indian etc. people really need to broaden their minds. Add to that, people have now started ranking each and everything. They just can't embrace difference or change. We have to live with it. Just know that there are people who do appreciate it. Laari chooti made me appreciate Bollywood and Bollywood music. Nothing is black and white. Everything is grey. There is good and bad in everything and that too, according to ones own opinion. What may be bad to you is treasure for another.
Really enjoying the podcast so far, but I couldn’t help but notice that it’s been over an hour (around 1:10), and although he’s talking about the universe, feelings, and communication through Art, there has been no mention of Allah or the guidance of the Quran. It’s sad and disheartening to see such a beautiful soul discuss these deep topics without bringing in Allah’s name. I truly hope xulfi find his way back to the path of Allah.
With all due respect, bringing religion into a conversation may be a thing for you but it isn't your place to expect or demand it from others. Moreover, the concepts being discussed are universal, and often times an unnecessary mention of religion causes others to disconnect or switch off. This isn't a khutbah, it's a conversation. Have a great day.
My point of view is simple cs corporate management wanted to replicate the success of pasoori and kanna yaari in season 15 . People who use to watch cs on tv since its season 1 mostly don't like it now not because it got commercialize but they generalize a certain dispora ke han you are our most important bunch here listen to the 70% songs of season 15 . It would have been great if they had just created a coke studio punjab just like how india did in coke studio tamil for their audience for that side. but no they really wanted to replicate another pasoori in the same language under coke studio pakistan tag . Zulfi is one of the greatest musician of our country people who saw him during ep, call nescafe basment and botb days know what he can do creatively. This is corporate zulfi who really want to sell this product calls season 15 coke studio pakistan.

Why are real singers and musicians sidelined? (Look what’s been done to Shazia Manzoor in “Turri Jandi”.

2:15 hours ki baat and no partitions of the topic. Damn. Though would love to watch but cant.

Please forgive me for this... Art has been used to propagate hate and division as well. So ultimately it depends on "Niyyat", as Xulfi bhai mentioned.
Please react on Hasan Raheem new ep song ( Fanaa) ft JJ47 ❤
Xulfi❤❤❤
