It very slightly moves him in the air yes, but more importantly it changes the properties of his midair UpB to give less height but able to snap to ledge and from a further distance than normal.

maybe its that fast falls are faster because otherwise the mega man seems to fall at a pretty normal speed to me

I swear the distance on recoveries feels inconsistent asf sometimes. Like that first clip, even with his jump, that's more vertical distance than I've ever seen an Incineroar get. I've noticed the same thing from a lot of characters, including my own I've been playing since release. I'll up special from way lower than I know I'd typically make it and somehow reach ledge lol

When they are under the stage, can someone explain to me what's happening.
It looks like charizard side b into something then bounces off, but I thought you couldn't change Pokémon if it was within the last 2 seconds of using them. How did they switch back to one they were just on so fast. Is there any type of canceling or something going on?
Or just well timed?
Using special moves overrides that 2-second timer. It’s why you see a lot of Squirtle switching, then Ivysaur Vine Whip, then immediate switch to Charizard Fly.
The technique.
The reason you have to wait to switch is because the Trainer's animation of recalling and sending out pokemon. Using a taunt or special move cancels that switch animation and lets you switch again a bit early. Because Ivysaur's up B stalls them in the air, you can switch from Squirtle, Ivy up B, switch, jump jump into Zard up b. That's how you recover low as PT.

That first clip is why it's SO IMPORTANT to says your jump. No more scrub double jumps!
Not every time, though. Mix up is just as important. If they know you're never double jumping they'll just early dair for the 2 frame
