I like to dedicate this beautiful song to my wife, who has stood by me through good and bad. She faithfully stood by my side and pull us through the difficult times when I loss my job during the recession and Covid. She supported me until I could pick myself up and find the decent job. Every time this song was played at a wedding we attended, I found my husband….or he found me….and we danced to this song. For so many years. Then….in 2014 he was diagnosed with Stage IV Lung Cancer….not a smoker…..and I find myself playing this song every few months….over 8 years and we’re still here…..our 45th Anniversary is in a few weeks…..this song is both of us….singing to each other…..I don’t know how much time we have left, but I’m grateful for every day……♥️

Update 9/21/23; My husband passed away in the hospital 6 months ago. A traumatic, horrific experience for both of us and I miss him more each day. We spent the last 20% of our marriage taking care of each other and I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat.
On our 45th Anniversary last Oct. 1, he danced with me in our family room, as I mentioned here.
This year? I can’t stay home alone on Oct. 1. I just can’t. So I’ve booked a room for one night in a motel in one of my Happy Places: the Jersey Shore! I don’t care if it rains or even snows(!), I am going there by myself so I can sit on the beach, bury my feet in the cold sand and remember all the wonderful years I had with this man. Perhaps (if the beach is empty) I’ll play Kenny on my phone and I’ll dance with my invisible partner under the umbrella. ❤️

I lost my girlfriend 4 years ago, this song makes it feel like just yesterday! She died from cancer and I took time off of work to take care of her until she passed away. I miss her so very much! I recently lost my dad, unexpectedly! My heart is shattered 💔 . I listened to this song today and had a good cry! I miss him so much already. My sister chose this song for the father - daughter dance at her wedding, (almost 30 years ago ). I still have the image of them dancing to it on such a joyous occasion. I remember both our family and the grooms family joined them on the dance floor 1/2 way through the dance. We were in one big circle crying. If we could only turn back time! It's so hard to believe that it"s been almost two years since Kenny Rogers passed away. I remember when I heard the news. I read about it online, and my heart just broke. I immediately thought of Bruce Boxleitner and Dolly Parton, since Kenny was good friends with both of these celebrities. Bruce Boxleitner posted a photo on both Instagram and Twitter of him and Kenny on the set of the first "Gambler" TV movie, along with a sweet comment about his friendship with Kenny. Dolly Parton posted an emotional video on Facebook and Twitter about her friendship with Kenny.

Lost both of my parents about 10 years ago, and the lyric "The sweetest days I found I found with you" is engraved on their headstone. They were both such fans of this song, and it definitely sums up the decades they were able to spend together. I put his arms around me, and laid my head on his chest wishing I could still hear his heartbeat once more.
But it was over no more heartbeat. When I got up the doctor and nurses were standing at the door crying, It was the first time they had ever seen
something like this. It has been now 27 months, still, sing it and cry.

My mom just passed away 4 months ago. This song helps me think of all the good times we shared together. I know she is in heaven and we will see each other again, but it helps to still shed the tears, because a mother's love is so precious to her children and vice versa. I am so glad i got 53 years with her, but i still miss her so much.❤
