As someone who has reached D1 playing mostly Thor, there is a tip I'd like to share. Regardless of whether you're trying to ult the entire team or a single support, always make sure that you have your Lightning Realm (E) up before you go in. Ideally you want to dash towards your target, pop E right next to them and THEN ult. Whoever you are ulting will obviously try to run away from you, but as they do, they will run out of your Lightning Realm, damaging and slowing them, making it more likely that they won't be able to escape your ult before you slam down. Edit: just noticed someone else already left this tip in the comments, oh well, point still stands, do this to have more successful ults on Thor :P
For Venom, I recommend after diving onto someone, popping your alt fire before ulting. Wait a couple of seconds underground (to be precise, wait until your dive ability's cooldown reaches 6 seconds) then chomp them. At the same time as your chomp does damage, your alt fire will explode, doing a quick burst of damage. From the dive doing a maximum of 65 damage, 80 damage from your alt fire, 50% of your target's hp from his ult (for this tips sake, let's say full 300hp) and his ult does 50 bonus damage, that 345 damage total to a target at 300hp. I do this all the time, people, especially supports, don't expect it.
For black widow, it’s hard to get value from her character, so one big tip while using her ult is to actually not even do it and just pick a better character with a good ult.
Additional tips about americas ult. 1. Can act as a pseudo defensive support ult. Used it to save squishys from psylocks ult a few times for example. 2. Super great to stall payloads in OT. Run around payload in a circle with shield up booping enemies off and making a circle of shielding n speed for ur teammates playing on the point =) 3. Use the boop mechanic to displace n create chaos in team fights or to dive behind tank n boop em into your team or boop a support far from their team to get a pick. 4. Disclaimer boop mechanic can be randomly inconsistent at times. Have fun - Tex
For Mr. Fantastic, you want to only ult when you're big. That way, you're tanky enough to live. The slow from the ult is also good if your team can capitalize on it.
For scarlet witch, I save the ult for when there is a friendly and an enemy support ult up, then I pop it in there to either force their team back, or pick up a few kills.
One thing I have learned from playing black panther is that you really want to use his ult while carrying momentum everytime you get the occasion. IF you don't you will stand still and so often get destroyed before the ult procs, cc'ed, or just take unnecessary damage. But if you can even just wall climb for a fraction of a second and ult while jumping off the wall that'll make you way less vulnerable and increase your rate of success with the ult significantly
100hp/sec heal is quite decent, but on a guy zipping around with Cap Sprint plus the Ult speed bonus, plus holding his shield up, can be pretty annoying haha
I was wondering if you had a matchups guide in the works. In your tips for every rank video you talked about respecting other players and their ability to out play you when you try to play risky. Not necessarily for grandmasters or that specific scenario, but I'm very interested in learning at least briefly what sort of matchups any given hero should prioritize/mark, and which ones should they be avoiding, requesting help with, or even counter swapping
It's a bit hard because there is matchup implications for every hero vs every hero so that means a TON of combinations and if I go into detail on every one it will be a legit 3 hour+ video haha. I can do a more generalized matchup guide but its not as in-depth as I would like. I'll see if I could come up with a way to combine the 2
The problem is depending on the character, some match ups you don't even interact with. Like a captain America or thor is not going to be dealing with an iron man for example. You just don't deal with them because it's not your job. General match-up's is more user friendly though.
@ I was definitely not asking for a 1:1 matchup guide for every character vs every character. Just an important/common matchups guide. I can definitely see the difficult in doing something like that for the whole roster as coach said, so I’m gonna keep thinking about an efficient method of putting that information into a video. It would also be nice to see this information included in the hero specific tutorials. We get tips and directions on what we’re supposed to do, but I’d like to see more info on what battles we should be picking
You missed a tip for moon knight. Throw your ahnk right into the middle of where you place your ultimate while he’s saying “the moon haunts you”. You’re ahnk will pop enemies up and drag them back into the middle of your ultimate circle while they are trying to escape
Imo Venom you should be targeting supports rather than tanks. It might seem like tanks are more value as you can do more dmg and get a ton of hp but their supports are likely to heal it back unless your team has another ult to follow up Targeting supports with dive + alt fire + ult will essentially 1 shot them which is huge to start a fight Obviously if you can then target as many as possible but if you have to choose support brings a ton of value compared to tanks unless you combining your ult with someone else
Sometimes when I use my ult as Hawkeye I have to pop it early before I get to the fight then after they get confused on where I’m actually at I start firing shots at my off angle at other times I usually purposely waste his ult when I know that they will dive me by popping ult nearby and letting their divers chase but I only do this when it’s a convoy map never on domination domination is where his ult thrives while convoy is where it’s inconsistent you either get the ace get a pick on a tank or simply die due to an iron fist, psylocke, black panther or spider man focus you
For venom it’s best to pop your alt fire to attach before you ult. It slows them down and will likely do damage as it’s on them longer and they can’t run away after you launch them in the air. So ideally you slam a group, alt fire, ult, then attack
I know people don’t like using mics but I found out when I play Luna or cloak I’ll announce I’m about to ult…and then after I start screaming let’s go charge em and start calling out targets. It works better with Luna cause she can move with us. But I swear it’s night and day when I coach the team vs not. People are actually listening and will respond to constructive guidance WAY more than hate!
For venom you want to hit the alt fire right when you land, then the ult so when you come up the tether also blows up at the same time making it instant kill
Venom has an ult combo you can do. Diving strike, cellular corrosion, ult. If you do the ult right before corrosion pops you get big damage all at once this kills 275 heros. Also any damage done by the ult converts into bonus health using it on tanks is a great way to stall in OT.
You know, I see a lot of these coaching vids from different creators on this game, and like 99.9% of it I agree with. All yall doin it. Good stuff. Got a question though: What do YOU do when you are just beating your head against a wall, trying your best, trying to make the best plays but either lose or keep getting killed whether you understand why or not, what do you do? When I want to win and I'm locked in but get defeated, over and over, it just completely ruins my mood with little to fix it other than just quit playing for the day, come back tomorrow. Is there any thing you engage in or have as a distraction/reset to help center you back when you start to tilt, if you do?
It's a video game end of the day. Take a break, 15mins go for a walk drink some water, play a bit of balatro or something then log back in if you're in the right mindset
For Moon Knight, i get my best results by sneaking around the team and ulting behind them (and ahnking) ONLY WHEN your team is pushing. That way they’re forced to step into the ult or push into your team.
Funny thing about the Squirrel Girl ultimate and the cart: I had and instance where on the Yggdrasil Convo map that the enemy tossed out a SG ult and that ultimately climbed up the payload and proceeded to kill 3 full health targets on it because it kept ricocheting all over the cart which resulted in a loss. As it was a 4v3 in OT that flipped to a 1v3. 😂😢
Thor you navigate to target, bubble, then ult. The bubble does damage and slows upon the enemy crossing its barrier which you know they're gonna try to run from underneath you.
Another cloak and dagger tip, if you get groot ulted you can use your own ult to get out of it, and save your team because they will get the super heals
Psylocke's ult can literally get nullified by Loki's lamps which isnt even an ultimate. So if you are playing Psylocke and they have a Loki, you might as well just swap.
Hey I hope someone sees this but I'm curious if Adam Warlock and Loki is a viable heal comp with or without the 3 heal comp. IK this depends on the match, but if anyone has experience with this. 😅
A bit too low mass heal with most front lines. You could potentially with something strange like solo tank Cap or something but realistically not a duo support combo I recommend. You will have to waste too many abilities just to try and keep the front line alive. I have a video coming soon going over building compositions
@@RaginRockyXL fantastic is underrated but not as much as Wolverine was imo. Blows my mind that the community didn’t simply read the character abilities to see he was a tank shredder lol

He does not need a nerf, he is arguably the most balanced character in the entire game. Do **NOT** be that guy.

For the thor tip. You want to pop your lighting realm before you ult. The enemies inside get slowed when they leave and a lil extra chip damage too.
Oh yeah Surefour (rank 1 Thor) does this every single time and if you can it's so good.
I once had a Black Panther KO himself after jumping in and out of my lightning realm too many times.
@@coach_mills Surefour's E -> Q tip, and the advice that it's good value to kill even just one or two enemy supports before a push is a game changer!
His ultimate is the best at specifically baiting out supp ultimate. It a win in my book.

with venom you dive smash, right click, then pop ult, massive damage
Spiderman ult is a real sleeper, like a psylocke ult but much less loud
For moon knight use ult if possible from higher ground and then immediately throw an ankh
You can also still revive people when you’re in your passive ghost mode as Adam Warlock if you float towards them
For Mr. Fantastic, you want to only ult when you're big. That way, you're tanky enough to live. The slow from the ult is also good if your team can capitalize on it.
I need to recheck but if I remember correctly when you ult he loses his bonus hp.
For scarlet witch, I save the ult for when there is a friendly and an enemy support ult up, then I pop it in there to either force their team back, or pick up a few kills.
