I'm getting Ford Fiesta sedan, but when I look into polo I'm interested as I'm living by my own. Your opinion may help me in choosing whether to buy polo or fiesta. Which one would be better?
I hear alot of bad things about the tsi 1.2 engine. About the belt or something? Can you tell me more about this? I dont know a lot of cars but i would like to purchase a second hand one of these in The Netherlands
They're 17" rims. The regular Polo before the Polo Sport came out had 15". The Golf TSI had 16" all the while till the limited edition Golf SE came out with 17" rims.
I will buy this car in 2020..is it still ok or the maintenance will kill me? Using honda jazz 2010 right now..big difference maintenance then Honda or just slightly more expensive
Hi Alex! Thanks fr this Full Vehicle Tour of VW- POLO Sport TSI video. Will you going to make a VW- POLO GTI Full Vehicle Tour ? I cant wait for that... Thanks fr ur sharing by the way :)
Hey this is probably an old video but may i ask something, is it okay to buy a second hand Polo TSi (2011-2012) despite its old age? (because now is 2017 already) I mean in the context of maintenance and spare parts, are the parts like so expensive that people always say "Dont buy a second hand continental car, price ok, maintenance cost is bad"
The Polo is actually not the Gol despite similar looks. The current Polo is based on the PQ25 platform, whereas the current Gol is based on the older PQ24 platform. VW are fairly reliable cars, so if you're thinking of one, I would say go for it!
It depends on the individual car really. I've had a Golf TSI before and despite all the negative issues regarding the DSG, I've never had problems with mine. If you're going for a Polo TSI, make sure you know the full history of the car and whether there is anything wrong with it. Unless, you go for the Polo MPI which has a less troublesome 6-speed automatic.
Ive owned both Volkswagens and Fords. Currently we have a 11yr old VW Lupo SDi that has been totally reliable throughout our ownership, it's still on it's original battery and exhaust. Ive had two Polos, a petrol and diesel, and yet again very reliable comfortable vehicles. The Ford Escort in a very nice metallic blue, even though it was not as well built as the Volkswagens, gave trouble free reliable motoring as did our 1990 Fiesta. When buying a new car, it's all about which car you personally like the look of, inside and out , and really which is the most cost effective purchase. Nowday's the reliability of both Volkswagen and Ford is pretty impressive, and i am sure both would give trouble free motoring. You have saved hard for your next set of wheels, either VW or Ford should provide trouble free motoring, and when it comes down to it, as long as the car is trouble free in every day driving a VW or Ford would do very nicely.
alexlovesmac That's right, the 1700cc non turbo charged diesel engine. It lacks power, but is virtually bulletproof and should really last forever if regularly serviced. Our Lupo is 11yrs old and has been trouble free from new. The only thing that's ever been replaced is a front wheel bearing and the timing belt, everything else on the car is original. Even the battery is the original one. Being a non turbo charged engine it's terribly underpowered, but who cares, it will probably outlast the car and gives trouble free motoring every time you turn the key .

Have you buy it? How was it?
Aren't those 16" rims? 17" seem a little bit big. For example the Golf TSI has 17" rims and are very big.

considering buying a second hand polo, is the gearbox as bad as the rumour?

Hmmm... SDI, that's the non-turbo diesel engine right?
