    Too much misinformation out there when it comes to fishing. Myths and rumors run rampant. I am glad you stand your ground and tell the nay-sayers and know-at-alls, how it is. 👍

    Good info bro. Last year was my first year to get to bed fish and there was a few I couldn't get. It helped my fishing more than I could've imagined to just see how in tune they with any movement at all near them. They have a good radius of senses to detect movement. And I was amazed how little rod movement I needed to get the baits to do what I wanted. I can say I overworked most baits for a long time. And it is definitely NOT LIKE SHORTING FISH IN A BARREL. I'm hooked!

    Awesome video as always sir!!! Thank you so much for spending your time to help us fisherman that don't get to the chance to fish as much as we would like to! One question though about your comment on boat flipping a bass onto the carpet. I was always told that the carpet can rub off the protective slime coat a fish has to protect themselves from disease (unlike a rubber coated net). And what about boat flipping a fish in the summer when your boat carpet feels like its a 1000 degrees? Just curious, thank you again sir!!!

    • @InformativeFisherman
      @InformativeFisherman  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      James marine grade carpet that comes on boats does very little harm unless you really try to grind them against it on purpose. With the heat you don't want to keep them on the floor any longer then you need to land them. When boat flipping you will also see me grab the line to support the head from impacts when they shake, thanks brother!

    You should really list links to the gear and baits that you use. That way fishermen can see how we can choose our own similar equipment or lures at a cheaper price or even buy the exact lures. I understand if there are some baits you wouldn't want to discuss that are your "secret" baits, but it would be really helpful to have links. Especially equipment like rod, reel, eye wear (brand of polarized glasses), and line size/ brand. Thank you for your awesome informative videos! Epic footage and perfect explanations. Thank you for all you do.

    So I've read that the main "conservation" issue with bed fishing Is, when you remove the fish from the bed other fish swoop in and eat all the eggs. What are your thoughts on this? I'm neither here nor there as I'm just getting back into fishing and quite frankly have very little idea about what I'm talking about, as i mentioned i just read that somewhere and figured I'd ask as I trust your opinion more than any so far in regards to fish.

  • @DOUBLEO_ObsessionOutdoors

    Ok so honest question if you catch the male and put him somewhere else in that last resort senario and she doesn't go up and protect the bed or even just takes half and hour to an hour to do so then what is to prevent other species from coming and eating the eggs?

    • @DOUBLEO_ObsessionOutdoors
      @DOUBLEO_ObsessionOutdoors 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Note I'm not against bed fishing I just don't want to be the reason a nest of eggs is destroyed lol so I'm looking for honest info

    • @InformativeFisherman
      @InformativeFisherman  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      DOUBLEO (obsession outdoors) if you have to pull the male to get her to move up it’s very rare that there’s eggs on the bed. Most of the time she’s gone or on when the eggs are on the bed. On top of that less than 20% of bass spawn in less than 8’ so very little harm either way

    • @DOUBLEO_ObsessionOutdoors
      @DOUBLEO_ObsessionOutdoors 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Let me tell you something, brother. In the Toyota Series on Dale Hollow in April of 2020, nearly 1/3 of the bass that were caught from the beds (mostly on Ned Rigs) died because of being hooked TOO DEEP. YES, bedding fish can EASILY be killed by careless anglers. Simply avoid Ned Rigs, and any other lures with a single, SMALL hook.

    Fully Agree with a lot of points! I can't stand people who livewell a limit of big bass just to try to get a picture. There's no need to shove them in a livewell all day when not fishing a tournament. Also, fully agree about boat flipping and maintaining tension. I can't stand people who immediately release all tension as soon as the fish is in the boat. Swindle did that during the Classic and then tried to look cool in front of the camera after the bass smashed down on the bottom of his boat from several feet in the air. That was idiotic and classless.

    • @InformativeFisherman
      @InformativeFisherman  6 ปีที่แล้ว

    i rented a boat a couple times last week and i tried to anchor before a cove. the rental anchor failed i get blown into the cove on top of some bushes and bam 8 huge hogs roll out the cove. i caught a few dinks there but the bigs never came back... the other day diff cove its murky where im at. though i wanted to sight fish but i anchor. bam two big hogs come look at anchor line then me and take back off into the murk. i catch a couple dinks there. both big hogs come chasing them to boat and back down.. i stay there for 2 hours. try everything.. one time i was doing roboworm its close to boat both hogs coming i relax it they both take off... argh. i got a couple decent ones from shore. though im thinking of renting a boat again tomorrow. the sad thing i lose my go pro and have no phone. but i borrow my roomates and got a couple stills of a few of the fish i got the spawn mostly dinks though. this only my 2nd spawn. you got some tanks.

    Catching a fish on top of a bed blows up the bed. Even if you don't hurt the bed fish or take them to a different part of the lake like in tournaments, , nobody is coming back with tweezers to pick up all the eggs and rebuild the nest. Example , the first catch at 2:56. Isn't that brood destroyed? It seems like hose little bass won't even grow up to be part of the food chain let alone be sport fished.

      Tim L it can be if you’re trying to do it to a non striking fish. I should of clarified that a bit better but that’s also another reason I placed it at the end. It’s not really even pulling the bait forward as much as it is turning the bait over.
