CORRECTION: In this video, I incorrectly identified Navantia as a FRENCH shipbuilder. Navantia is in fact a SPANISH shipbuilder.

Gracias por la corrección, Navantia es la heredera de grandes astilleros españoles

The concept is interesting and should be efficient and polyvalent if making use of adapted UAVs. Howether, even with its native equipment, it has rather good capacity given the VTL cells may carry either anti-air, anti-surface, dual purpose (anti-air+anti surface), or anti submarine missiles, provided missiles production. The single turret has become standard with even bigger frigates, wich should not handicap the platform: fast shooting and accuracy has become the norm over the number of artillery guns. If stealth is good, it should perform well in various situations.

Am I the only one who thinks those containers on the rear deack should have a stealthy shape?
For those who say such a ship can not be in a sustain heavy fight, that is probably true. In fact, that is likely true of any corvette/light frigate just because of the limits imposed by their size. However, there is a need for ships in light to medium intensity areas or missions. Having thes elower intensity vessels allows the high intensity ships to mass in high intensity areas.
For example, an Arlegh Burke destroyer is a massive over kill for anti-piracy operations. Enter the light frigate. Similarly, you may have the need for a convoy escort in areas a little removed from the conflict zone, but still in range of enemy subs. Do you use a destroyer or a light frigate?
And then tehr eare countries taht do not face a serious threat and can't afford a destroyer, or even a large frigate. Many people do not realize that in most countries, the largest combat vessel in their "navy" is an offshore patrol boat.

I should also talk about the destroyer SMART 8000, also about the Spanish NAVANTIA.

Interesting concept. I realize this is just a concept but is there any info on the dimensions of this light frigate concept?

The length is 120 meters according to Navy Recognition.

No sorry. This thing is the same as it's big brother, the Smart 8000. Seriously under armed. Not enough missiles to sustain a prolonged firefight with a top tier adversary. Even the 8000 only has a 36mm gun and a paltry 36 vls cells.

I agree that it is under armed for it's size. I think Navantia sacrificed armament for stealth.

Bloody awful looking ship, looks almost as bad as a zumwalt .
