1:47 Christ man holy sheesh. I know that's not one of his smartest decisions, but how did bro even that. Even at quarter repping it, I could never even pick it up
I can squat 80kg for 7 reps. My squat is plateauing due to me doing heavy physical labor this year. My legs get tired quickly in the gym and I'd rather not fail on the squat 😢
As this daniel dude mentioned, safeties are your friends. My first set on the bench is always me making sure that I configured the safeties correctly and can escape if I fail. If your focus is to get heavier weights, don't do so many reps. Follow the 3-5 rule: 3-5 days a week, pick 3-5 exercises, do 3-5 sets of 3-5 reps with 3-5 minutes rest in between them at >=90% of your one rep max. Don't ego lift, make sure the form is good. You should be able to increase the weight 3-5% every week for a good while until you start hitting crazy weights. If you do it this way you will get fatigued during the workout, but the recovery time is maybe 1 hour so it shouldn't affect your work at all. That is 100% optimized for strength only, so if your goal is strength and muscle or only muscle then don't follow it.
I agree with you, some “cheating”, or rather momentum reps are totally acceptable. Only retards keep “perfect form” on every single rep of every single exercise.

0:30 it looks like a variation of a barbell row. Arms are a little too close together but thats about the only problem. In fact, if my eyes serve me well, thats 245 for reps, which is heavy.
its supposed to be a yates row, but he shouldnt be extending his knees or driving his hips. just supposed to be a bit of torso movement to help move a bit more weight. way more weight than he looks like he can handle without leg/hip drive
I see a lot of kids doing rows like that now. I was next to some the other day and decided to add that into my routine hoping they pick up some tips. I think they do it like that as some cheat deadlift/high row exercise. Who knows, just hoping they dont muff up their shoulders and back.
