Your relationship with Christ is what is important, the closer you draw to him the more you will see who he is. I pray that you draw near to our lord and savior. And that you be healed from the hurt that you have experienced.
I go to church for many reasons, but one of them is that I am a sinner. I, too, have been hurt by Christians. Often times we do bump into others with our own luggage, and it can be very hurtful to the ones we bang into.

Hi Diana, I’m really excited that you are making your own videos now. I have been watching Dawn’s channel for the last 8 or so months and love your Sunday’s together. I also started the using Dwell and the bible Recap after hearing you talk about it. I’m up to about day 85 now and I’m so happy with that. I’ve wanted to read through the bible for a few years now but would often get frustrated with the Israelites through their time in the wilderness and not make it past exodus. So I’m really grateful to have pushed through to Joshua now and listening to TLC’s podcasts has definitely helped me to get this far. Thanks for starting me on this journey and I look forward to more of your videos.

I’m so excited to see your sharing of how you study the word! I feel that this is such an essential part of a believers life, and so many need that guidance and starting point. I love using the SOAP method for my personal devotions as well. It’s definitely the one that I have found the most productive for me. I feel that as I’m physically writing down every component, Gods word is being transcribed in my heart! I also enjoy looking back and seeing what the Lord has spoken to me in different seasons of my life. May the Lord continue to bless you 🤗

Thank you for this! I've always struggled with routines and being organized (why I ended up on Dawn channel😉) and even though I've been a christian all my life and now in leadership I've never found a way to be consistent in my devotional time. To be honest the last many years I've just given up. I've never realized it but the stress response is SO real!! I want to want it because I see how it affects the lives of thoses who do it. Many in my tradition/country talk about the importance of this but I think we forgot to teach it practically especially for grown ups. And I think my failures in this already started as a preteen with a one size fits all approach and has now become negative self talk and beliefs wich is reinforced every time the importance is reiterated. This has given me the motivation to try again. ❤ (Also wow.. my first comment on a TH-cam video ever 😂)

I often echo my friends words, ‘God presents you with people, ideas, or things in your life when you need them.’ Your channel and the way you present the Lord’s message is right on time! Thankfully, I come from a very religious family history but could do better connecting with the Lord personally and on a more regular basis. Minimalism has afforded me the time and energy to realize it IS doable and I am so excited to (re)start. Your Sunday videos with Dawn always made me cry, in a good way; I knew your prayer at the end was God allowing me to feel and release my emotions which I don’t do often. It wasn’t until I read in the Old Testament that people had to go to the tabernacle, and they needed representation. That they could not just talk to God whenever they wanted. I always think how grateful I am when Jesus died, tore the veil, and bridged the gap with us and God. I never take for granted now the ability to talk to God whenever I need to. It never occurred to me before that it wasn’t always like that. Jesus has literally saved me and I love Him. ❤

I enjoyed waking up to see you on Sunday morning’s with Dawn. I’m Catholic ( universal Christian) . When Jesus asked his disciples to stay awake with him 1 hr. In the Garden of gethsemane. Before he was going to be taken. That is our Holy Hour in the Blessed Sacrament. Everything I have gone through. I had two choices blame God ir get closer for strength. My faith has always been strong. No matter what I go/ gone through. The enemy hates it. I will say “Jesus I love you more than myself. “ Being faithful and trusting. God has a plan. Diana, I wanted to thank you for turning me on to the Bible Recap. For years I have been reading my NLT Chronological Bible but it turned into "an obligation, mark off a to do for the day". Maybe I just needed a "refresh/reset", but I have been doing TBR every day since Jan 1 and it has been so encouraging. I have learned so much. I read a hard bible following the reading plan and watching the wrap up video. Thanks Diana.
Excellent presentation outlining the preparation needed to form a daily Bible reading/study habit. Satan will try to sabotage our efforts but having a plan and making a commitment before hand will definitely help us be successful. Thank you for starting your own channel. I am enjoying these videos. I am retired, (as of Dec 2019,) so I have more time now. I have read through the Bible in a year several different times. The One Year Bible and blog are good resources. I have also read through a Chronological Study Bible, and Joyce Meyer's Battlefield of the Mind study bible. This year I am following the M'Cheyne Chart of Daily Bible readings as listed in D.A. Carson's two "For the Love of God" devotional commentaries, which have 365 daily readings. The M'Cheyne plan goes through the OT once, and the NT twice in a year. I am also doubling up on the daily readings, because I started late this year. I am going to start a revival prayer and bible study group soon. I also went to a Catholic college for my freshman year. I was in Catholic school for grades 2 - 8. Now I attend a Baptist church in NC. I call myself an eclectic Christian. 😊
Acts 26 is Paul retelling the story of his conversion publicly and is one of my favorite stories! He went from persecuting the new Christians to being one of the chief apostles of them! When he was knocked off his donkey, a voice from the sky said "Saul Saul why persecutest thou ME"? When he was persecuting the baby christians, he was persecuting Jesus! I got from this, be careful how you treat the people of God, that IS His body. And then Saul asked "who art thou LORD?" And the voice said "I am Jesus, whom thou persecutest" -- who is the Lord? The voice from heaven said Jesus. I love the clear notation of ONE God, manifested in flesh as Jesus.
I love the Key Word Study Bible. (Especially the NIV, but I also use it in the ESV and NKJV). They are different as they have lexical aids and such that helps me dig so much deeper. ❤️🙏🏻 Thank you, this is so good!

I can imagine that it will bring more insight and meaning into what I read. Prior to the lockdown, I attended structured Bible study classes, unfortunately they have not started up again. I even moderated some. The Bible version I have is NRSV. (NIV). I was wondering, if you were going to suggest a certain starting point, like Genesis, or Matthew. Recently I’ve been reading Revaluation. What are your thoughts? I am so happy for your enthusiasm and faith. I too am a practicing cradle Catholic, and hold my faith dear to me. I just found your channel. I have recently re-dedicated myself to the Lord. I am still watching my church service virtual on Sundays. Its a non denominational church. I was raised Catholic. I live in FL. Looking forward to watching your videos re: studying the bible which to be honest is all very new to me. The translations I have are the NIV and NIV Study Bible and the NLT.
Diana you're incredible! Thanks for sharing this - I struggle with actually comprehending what I've read and how to apply it. My only challenge with a guide is I get confused when it's multiple chapters in a day. Is there any chance you'd have time for a quick video on how to include multiple chapters as you develop your bible reading practice? Sometimes the second verse is similar sometimes it isn't and I feel stupid and quit. I don't want to quit any more, I long to draw closer to the Lord!
I printed out the Bible reading PDF. Confused if I should start with August 1st. Or start at the beginning with January 1st? Any guidance is appreciated. I have started and failed so many times. 😊

Good and solid suggestions to start! So good, Diana! I will say the thing that brought me a desire to read and study God's word more and more is to find God's heart and His true nature in His word. Once we perceive Him in the correct way, we can't wait to see and hear Him in everything we read from Genesis to Revelation. We see His goodness and His joy for us-- all throughout His word and it sets us free from discouragement and fear. It's truly life changing! Also... you had me at 'fresh ground coffee...'😂☕️

While I was not Roman Catholic I was with an ecumenical group that would meet at a women's monastery. I still belong to that ecumenical group have for the last 42 years. Lexio divina is a integral part of being with scripture and incorporated into personal life so anything that promotes that type of study is very life-sustaining and fruitful. Enjoy your video first time here I will be coming back.
Be cautious with commentaries. Some people ONLY study commentaries, and don't even read the Bible. The main reason that's not the best idea is because a commentary is basically a human beings' opinion. Especially where physical healing is concerned, most commentaries say God didn't actually mean He would heal us physically, but rather He would wait until you get to heaven to heal you. That is not accurate. Choose to believe God's Word rather than a commentary.
What would you recommend as a study bible for someone who is still trying to understand Christ? I have studied with church of christ, read book of mormons, studied with jehovah witnesses, i stopped everything in 2001 and just started back up going to church at Calvary in San Jose when i got laid of at work in December. I do my scriptures every day, there is a ladies bible group i am with, doing all i can to understand but i still question the Bible and the truth it has and where it really came from. I feel like such a skeptical when i am reading. How do i get over that
I absolutely love this. I was raised in the Christian church and still attend on a regular basis. But I never developed a habit of studying the Bible on my own. I know it’s so important. I want to get started and I think this video will help. Wish me luck! I have a 3 year old and a 9 month old! 😁
My favorite time of day is getting up an hour before the kids, grabbing a cup of hot tea, sitting down in front of a window that faces the sunrise, and digging in to the Word. Actually, I do wash my face and stretch first - because that helps me wake up. I really enjoyed the messages you shared on Dawn's channel, and look forward to hearing more here. Do you have any suggestions for a read through the Bible plan for children. My youngest daughter's eight and is beyond children's Bibles, but there are a good number of passages that she's not ready for yet. I've web searched, but haven't found anything yet.

I was so dismayed over losing your insights and prayer on Sundays, which I have looked forward to all week (I don't listen to podcasts). Yet, I realized while watching this video that this is my loving Father's plan for me; His course correction for me right now, a beautiful provision for this stage in my life. I need your channel. I’m so excited to see your sharing of how you study the word! I feel that this is such an essential part of a believers life, and so many need that guidance and starting point. I love using the SOAP method for my personal devotions as well. It’s definitely the one that I have found the most productive for me. I feel that as I’m physically writing down every component, Gods word is being transcribed in my heart! Thank you for this! I've always struggled with routines and being organized (why I ended up on Dawn channel😉) and even though I've been a christian all my life and now in leadership I've never found a way to be consistent in my devotional time. To be honest the last many years I've just given up. I've never realized it but the stress response is SO real!! I want to want it because I see how it affects the lives of thoses who do it. Many in my tradition/country talk about the importance of this but I think we forgot to teach it practically especially for grown ups. And I think my failures in this already started as a preteen with a one size fits all approach and has now become negative self talk and beliefs wich is reinforced every time the importance is reiterated. This has given me the motivation to try again. ❤

I often echo my friends words, ‘God presents you with people, ideas, or things in your life when you need them.’ Your channel and the way you present the Lord’s message is right on time! Thankfully, I come from a very religious family history but could do better connecting with the Lord personally and on a more regular basis. Minimalism has afforded me the time and energy to realize it IS doable and I am so excited to (re)start. Your Sunday videos with Dawn always made me cry, in a good way; I knew your prayer at the end was God allowing me to feel and release my emotions which I don’t do often. Thank you for your work and energy on your channel!
It wasn’t until I read in the Old Testament that people had to go to the tabernacle, and they needed representation. That they could not just talk to God whenever they wanted. I always think how grateful I am when Jesus died, tore the veil, and bridged the gap with us and God. I never take for granted now the ability to talk to God whenever I need to. It never occurred to me before that it wasn’t always like that. Jesus has literally saved me and I love Him. ❤
Having watched you with Dawn I’m so excited to hear you’ve chosen to create content on your personal YT channel now! Excellent job Diana! This really has the ability to reach both the new/inexperienced Bible reader to the seasoned Christian who has gotten out of practice or just someone who has trouble focusing on the Word.

Diana, I wanted to thank you for turning me on to the Bible Recap. For years I have been reading my NLT Chronological Bible but it turned into "an obligation, mark off a to do for the day". Maybe I just needed a "refresh/reset", but I have been doing TBR every day since Jan 1 and it has been so encouraging. I have learned so much. I read a hard bible following the reading plan and watching the wrap up video. Thanks Diana.
Excellent presentation outlining the preparation needed to form a daily Bible reading/study habit. Satan will try to sabotage our efforts but having a plan and making a commitment before hand will definitely help us be successful. With all of the distractions life throws at us, it will be so helpful sharing this journey with a "community of sisters in the LORD". Thank you!!

Thank you for starting your own channel. I am enjoying these videos. I am retired, (as of Dec 2019,) so I have more time now. I have read through the Bible in a year several different times. The One Year Bible and blog are good resources. I have also read through a Chronological Study Bible, and Joyce Meyer's Battlefield of the Mind study bible. This year I am following the M'Cheyne Chart of Daily Bible readings as listed in D.A. Carson's two "For the Love of God" devotional commentaries, which have 365 daily readings. The M'Cheyne plan goes through the OT once, and the NT twice in a year. I am also doubling up on the daily readings, because I started late this year. I am going to start a revival prayer and bible study group soon. I also went to a Catholic college for my freshman year. I was in Catholic school for grades 2 - 8. Now I attend a Baptist church in NC. I call myself an eclectic Christian. 😊
Acts 26 is Paul retelling the story of his conversion publicly and is one of my favorite stories! He went from persecuting the new Christians to being one of the chief apostles of them! When he was knocked off his donkey, a voice from the sky said "Saul Saul why persecutest thou ME"? When he was persecuting the baby christians, he was persecuting Jesus! I got from this, be careful how you treat the people of God, that IS His body. And then Saul asked "who art thou LORD?" And the voice said "I am Jesus, whom thou persecutest" -- who is the Lord? The voice from heaven said Jesus. I love the clear notation of ONE God, manifested in flesh as Jesus.
I love the Key Word Study Bible. (Especially the NIV, but I also use it in the ESV and NKJV). They are different as they have lexical aids and such that helps me dig so much deeper. ❤️🙏🏻

Prior to the lockdown, I attended structured Bible study classes, unfortunately they have not started up again. I even moderated some. The Bible version I have is NRSV. (NIV).
I was wondering, if you were going to suggest a certain starting point, like Genesis, or Matthew. Recently I’ve been reading Revaluation. What are your thoughts?

I live in FL. Looking forward to watching your videos re: studying the bible which to be honest is all very new to me. The translations I have are the NIV and NIV Study Bible and the NLT.
Diana you're incredible! Thanks for sharing this - I struggle with actually comprehending what I've read and how to apply it. My only challenge with a guide is I get confused when it's multiple chapters in a day. Is there any chance you'd have time for a quick video on how to include multiple chapters as you develop your bible reading practice? Sometimes the second verse is similar sometimes it isn't and I feel stupid and quit. I don't want to quit any more, I long to draw closer to the Lord!
I printed out the Bible reading PDF. Confused if I should start with August 1st. Or start at the beginning with January 1st? Any guidance is appreciated. I have started and failed so many times. 😊

Good and solid suggestions to start! So good, Diana! I will say the thing that brought me a desire to read and study God's word more and more is to find God's heart and His true nature in His word. Once we perceive Him in the correct way, we can't wait to see and hear Him in everything we read from Genesis to Revelation. We see His goodness and His joy for us-- all throughout His word and it sets us free from discouragement and fear. It's truly life changing! Also... you had me at 'fresh ground coffee...'😂☕️

While I was not Roman Catholic I was with an ecumenical group that would meet at a women's monastery. I still belong to that ecumenical group have for the last 42 years. Lexio divina is a integral part of being with scripture and incorporated into personal life so anything that promotes that type of study is very life-sustaining and fruitful. Be cautious with commentaries. Some people ONLY study commentaries, and don't even read the Bible. The main reason that's not the best idea is because a commentary is basically a human beings' opinion. Especially where physical healing is concerned, most commentaries say God didn't actually mean He would heal us physically, but rather He would wait until you get to heaven to heal you. That is not accurate. Choose to believe God's Word rather than a commentary.
What would you recommend as a study bible for someone who is still trying to understand Christ? I have studied with church of christ, read book of mormons, studied with jehovah witnesses, i stopped everything in 2001 and just started back up going to church at Calvary in San Jose when i got laid of at work in December. I do my scriptures every day, there is a ladies bible group i am with, doing all i can to understand but i still question the Bible and the truth it has and where it really came from. I feel like such a skeptical when i am reading. How do i get over that

I absolutely love this. I was raised in the Christian church and still attend on a regular basis. But I never developed a habit of studying the Bible on my own. I know it’s so important. I want to get started and I think this video will help. Wish me luck! I have a 3 year old and a 9 month old! 😁
My favorite time of day is getting up an hour before the kids, grabbing a cup of hot tea, sitting down in front of a window that faces the sunrise, and digging in to the Word. Actually, I do wash my face and stretch first - because that helps me wake up.

Do you have any suggestions for a read through the Bible plan for children. My youngest daughter's eight and is beyond children's Bibles, but there are a good number of passages that she's not ready for yet. I've web searched, but haven't found anything yet.
