you probably dont give a shit but if you are bored like me atm you can watch pretty much all the new movies on InstaFlixxer. Been binge watching with my girlfriend these days xD
Very useful video. One question: As a long limbed guy I have adopted the toe/knee out starting position which has improved my pulling a lot, however as it has also caused me to need to widen my clean grip significantly my front squat is suffering. The wider hand position makes it difficult to lock up the elbows like I would with a narrow grip. Any advice would be great...
do you have a technique video for hang cleans? I find it extremely hard to shoot my elbows out in front of me when catching it. I literally just catch it with my wrists and since I sprained my wrist during football, trying 225 for the first time since the sprain destroyed it yesterday. 6'5 athlete here, would love some help, you seem very knowledgeable.
I've found, along with pointing toes out a bit more, is a wide stance. That will make a big difference for taller lifters also. Makes the lifts a lot more comfortable, especially when receiving.
Interesting. I am not tall but do have long arms and find I often touch off on my mid tonlow thigh and have a hard time getting under the bar for a squat clean. Perhaps these cues will help me stay more upright
@Barbell Shrugged sir i have also Long limbs and short torso, when i doin any chest press exercises i hurt my left shoulders so much and for that reason my Chest is lagging for development. Which exercises should we do for Chest ?
this is pretty interesting how over time the assumption that short is better for running and weight lifting has been blown outta the wayer, now that the fastest man and strongest oly lifter are both 6,4
Thanks for the upload, I'm 6"3, fairly new to olympic lifting and have difficulty with my lifting mechanics. Just wondering about your recommendation for the clean. Won't the wider grip positions on the barbell make catching the clean awkward? And it also seems to me that positioning your legs wider and angling them outwards might slightly diminish power output.
I'm 5'9", not só tall😂, but i have the body structure of a tall person. MT femurs are long (i use this frog stance on the feet tô solve the leg angel problem). But ir not solves everthing, now i need to know How tô solve the problem with the arms, with the "right" position of the hands on the clean the bar is almost in the midle of the femur.
I’m a 6’2 guy with long limbs and learning to clean has been…interesting. In order to get the bar anywhere near my hip, I need to have my hands touching the collar lol
Little known fact: this applies to anyone with long arms (even short people) who are trying to improve their extension in the clean or snatch. As a short guy with long arms, if I try to hold a bar an inch or two outside my hips when I clean, that bar will make contact with my dick at full hip and shrug extensions. If you are like me and you want to lift heavy, you must widen your grip by a few inches or you'll never make any progress.
This could shred your knees in time. If you have long legs to torso ratio then take power lifting not Olympic. In a deadlift all you need to do is lift your but to get your knees out of the way of the bar.
I'm 6'9" this video was a god send. tyvm

@Lucca Aldo Yea, I have been using instaflixxer for years myself :)
@Lucca Aldo yup, been using instaflixxer for years myself :)
@Lucca Aldo yea, I've been watching on instaflixxer for since november myself :D
This helped a lot, I'm 6'0 and I've always made the bar go around my knees.
Yup, saving this video...only like 8 years after its creation
im 6'7 3/4 at 220 lb's 22 years old. How should i make adjustments with havling long legs, torso, and arms or is basketball my only niche lol?
Thank you for the video!! I’m not that tall but I have long limbs which my coach doesn’t get. Hopefully this will improve my lifts
Wow I can't believe how much this video helped me. The first time I tried angling my feet and knees out everything felt much easier in the clean

i have got exactly the same problem, more of an issue with clean thrusters
Thanks for this video, deadlift, snatch, clean and jerk, have always been an issue for me being that I'm 6"2
Great video.
A 2 Rep Snatch & Clean Demo with a Medium weight would be even greater

Thanks for this video. I'm a 5'8 crossfitter with long arms, long legs, and a short torso. I'm going to try this and see what happens 💪🏾👊🏽
I was talking to my coach about this. Has been helping me ever since! thanks

Very useful! we need a "tall techniques WoD" @6'4"
+Brian Hanrahan yeah we do
Thanks so much for this! I'm 6'5" and have had a tough time with floor lifts, hopefully this will get me going down a better path.
Omg this is exactly what I was looking for , my knees get in the way when lifting
Needed this! im only 5 "8 but i have longer limbs in proportion to my body which made these particular lifts feel weird this is gonna help alot
Great video! Do you recommend this with deadlifts as well? (My shins are usually cut pretty bad afterwards)
Wow this is extremely helpful. How did I not look this up before? Thanks!
Will try this next time. My forearms are awfully long

Great video!
gonna give that a go this thursday. definetly applicable for me long old frame.
Thanks legend ❤
But how do you rack with with that wide grip?
very good advice, thanks
Thank you for this. This is great stuff and has really helped me.

This is incredibly helpful, thank you so much!!
Very helpful

Great video. I cant believe how many weightlifting videos assume you have shorter legs and longer torso. Wasted a lot of time with the wrong technique

Great info but the camerman needs some training lol
