Good technique and imagination. I’m building one and had to check this one out. I live next to a shopping center and a high school. Mine will be larger and tagged “Cash only” for passer buyers. I think I’ll make a killing! Great motivation . Thanks.
Hope all works out for you. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. As I suggest with everyone else, use a higher quality wood for the shingles. The cheap pine has a tendency to warp in the hot sun. Have fun!
Hope all works out well for you and my video helps you out. If you have any questions just ask. I have a second video I uploaded that has my sketches with measurements. Only suggestion is don't go cheap on the wood for the shingles.
I used your idea to make one myself. Your plans are by far the simplest I’ve found that produce a good quality product. I also admire you for not getting angry with your son for interrupting your video shots. 😂. He’s just a typical boy. I have three sons and they are grown now and I’ve got two grandsons. Treasure every moment with them while they are little. Again thanks for sharing your ideas and for being a great Dad. 😂 💙❤️🇺🇸🙏🙏
Thank you for the comment. Glad my video was able to help you build one and wasn't to difficult. Yeah my boys are always up in my projects but hopefully one day they'll learn something from it.
I like this. The shape you used is different from others I have seen. I prefer yours and think I will build one like it. I wish you had attached plans or cut lengths in your video. Overall, nice project.
Thanks, I do however suggestion using a higher quality wood for the shingles than pine. I was trying to go cheap due to the price of wood at the time. Hope this video helps.
Thanks, I agree with the music. I had some issues with trying to speed the camera up and keep my voice. I should have done some voice over. Not to great with making videos yet. I built this wishing well for my mother-in-law, she loved it. Hope this video helps you with building yours or gives you some ideas.
Wishing well came out great! How did you determine where to drill the two holes in each board of the base? Any chance you have the plans with dimensions available?
After you cut all your boards, lay down the first base layer, then lay the second lay on top. This should allow you to see where to drill the holes to fasten the second layer to the base. The repeat with the third layer, but your holes will have to shift slightly to avoid screwing into the second layer holes. After you determine your 2nd & 3rd layer holes, you just repeat the process for the rest.
Wow this is amazing it looks really good. This is actually the size and style I want mine. I m trying to encourage my husband for us to make it. Nice video blessings👍🙏
Sorry for the late reply. I believe I used 8 - 2x4. I have a second video on my page that explains everything. It took roughly about a week and a half. I work on it a little at a time when I would get home from work.
No plans, I built it by looking at pictures of wishing wells until I found a design I liked and watching other people's videos. The base of the well is easy but the roof gets complicated. Alot of what I did was just putting it together the way I wanted to. I could send you some sketches of my design if you want them.
@@hansgrahek9627 If you don’t mind sending me your sketches as well. I plan to build one for my mother in law for Christmas. If you have a material list to that’d be perfect.
I found you're video while searching for a "Wishing Well" I could build to sell. I know you've probably heard the complaints of the use of Music which is overbearing in some parts. "All In All" I really like your design, but would have liked to find a version which wasn't so labor intensive. "IE" Drilling, screwing. every piece, adds serious amount of time / labor. My question is this. Is the finshed product sturdy enough and light enough to be loaded, by one person? "Love the interactions with you're children.. When my children were young like yours, I played a game in the swimming pool which I called "Bucking Bronco" my kids loved it and I bet yours would too... Simple get in bout 3 ft of water, :Kneel Down so u are submerged completely,,, have your child climb on your shoulders while wrapping their legs around your body, "No Using their Hands to Hold On" then start propelling your body up and down, Like a Bucking Bronc... Games over when they fall off.... I had hrs and hrs of blissful laughs,, my kids soon grew to big,, so I couldn't do this anymore...
BBruuse, It's extremely sturdy, my boys have climbed all over it. As for the weight it is manageable. I lifted it up into the back of my truck to take it to my mother-in-law's house. It probably wouldn't hurt to get help. Yes the predrilling holes did take some time but trust me you will crack the boards screwing to close to the edge without predrill. You could get some more experience screws with self drilling tips. If you find a better way I'm open ears. Sounds like your kids had a great childhood. My boys would love that game. They like to be thrown around in the pool which gets tiresome quick. I've tried putting them on my shoulders but we get yelled at by the lifeguards. Don't have a private pool. I thought about making more wishing wells to sell too but I just don't have that time. My other video labeled as Part #2 has my sketches in it with measurements. Good luck and hope my video helps.
One more thing. I do suggest getting better wood for the shingles. At the time I built this wood was extremely expensive and I had to use pine. I wanted to use cedar but now some of the shingles are wrapping and will have to be replaced. Just some advice.... Best of luck
Are you serious? He probably figured since you're watching a woodworking video, you can use his wishing well as an example and make up your own plans to make one. With your own measurements! 😊
I rewatched the video again since it was a year ago when I commented. Yes I'm serious. Then and now. Kids is a kid? 👎 I think you meant kids will be kids. But thanks for commenting.

Thank you,
It's not to hard to build this project. Plus on the bright side, lumber prices are coming down.
@ 14:22 the top boards. Do you cut them the same length and same 30* angle, the top boards now are laying flat. Thx
Yes, top boards are cut at the same angles and length.
you did know what you were doing lol. .very nice build
Not a clue!!! Lol. You should check out my treehouse build.
More labor than others, but a nicer look
Music so loud , that I couldn't hear the instructions. What the angle and length of pieces?
I have a second video uploaded with my drawings and measurements. Hope that helps. Any questions feel free to ask.
How many 2+4 did it take. & how long.
