- NEW LEGLOCK INSTRUCTIONAL: The Kani Basami movement is one of the most versatile and effective offensive movements we can utilize in order to entangle our opponent in one of the most deadly variations of Ashi Garami: the Cross Ashi Garami. The versatility of the Kani Basami lies in the fact that it can be utilized from top or bottom and against opponents who are standing or playing guard.
The system I have developed training under John Danaher in the blue basement of the Renzo Gracie Academy outlines solutions to all the various problems you will encounter as you go to perform the move in a systematic, organized and clear way.
My system also outlines the best way to use the Cross Ashi Garami position: highlighting that the position offers us the ability to create a dilemma situation between upper and lower body attacks. The Kani Basami is completely IBJJF legal. Gordon Ryan has used it successfully in IBJJF tournaments numerous times.

@@Soso-pg1wv Just make sure you don't 'reap' as in a diagonal ashi garami and you should be good.
