My answer to Paul's community question, Does the hobby ever feel like work?
Thank you for taking the time to respond brother, the balance is a challenge in being a creator and enjoying your actual build time!
Yes, it is a fine balance between the two. At the moment, I feel I'm trying to get more bench time in the hopes that it will provide more content.
Hi Larry! Another well answered question my friend! 😊
Thank you very much! Appreciate you my friend.
Well said Larry!! Couldn’t agree more. Good stuff.
Thanks Kyle! Appreciate you.
Great response. They is a great way to do videos. That sounds a lot less stressful.
As for building in winter. I know guys who will prep a few kits in summer, get all the parts painted and then box them up, so come winter time they have a hand full of fully painted kits ready for assembly.
Pre-painting is my plan, if it comes together and actually happens, well we'll see if that actually happens. Thanks Justin!
Great response Larry 100% agreed on what you have said 👍👍
Thanks Seamus! Of course, this question can get a variety of answers.
Great answer.👍
Thanks 👍
Very truthful and honest answer.
I feel the same way.
I also do not film everything that I build.
But I do putt pictures off the builds on my channel.
Thank you sir! The question was an awesome one and that helps people open up. I've seen so many great answers to this question. I've tried to figure out how to make build videos, but I like keep them short as those build videos can be pretty long.
Great answer Larry!
Thank you very much! I appreciate you stopping by and watching;
Couldn't agree more Larry, just enjoy the hobby
That is the bottom line! Enjoy the hobby while you can. Thanks for stopping in!
👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for stopping by and watching!
Awesome video Larry! Your model building is a bit more involved as far as planning months ahead of time and that could be a bit of work for some and not for others because of the weather for painting. For me that weather is not a issue and I don't plan anything... Lol
Is model building a job, NO. TH-cam is and not a job, I enjoy the process of the content creation but there are those days... Lol That slows down the building process a ton...
Glad you made it home ok... Take care!
LLAP 🖖
Thank you for stopping by! I'm going to try and get some painted before Winter sets in, but we'll see. That is the extent of my planning. Most of the time, I have ideas of what I want to do or the direction I want a kit to go, but it almost never goes that way. I agree, modeling is not a job, but TH-cam can seem like one at times. I think being retired and not having any other things that need to be done can really help. Have a great rest of your week sir!
Great answer. I enjoy the hobby too much to be work
Yes! Enjoyment and relaxation are the main reasons I came back to this hobby. It's also a sense of accomplishment when you finish a build.
Great answer larry. I build when i can an do videos when i can. I do my video and dont edit them. 1 reason is i just do the video and let it roll . The other reason is i don't know how LOL.
Yeah, I told myself when I first got back into building models and then into the TH-cam thing, I was not going to stress with my builds and would just put out my videos as they were. It works for me and others. Thanks for the visit!!
@@LarrysModelShop same here larry. i build for myself. I did the youtube thing for the same reason as you did. share my builds with others and make new friends.
Ditto Larry I couldnt have said the sam thing betta why I dont show anything either. Sometimes just saying something sets these guys off the deep end and then you have modelers who knowingly admit to cauzing violence to anyone who touches their prescious lil model 🤣😂🤣😂😂😂🤣😂🤣😂😂 its so fn funny cuz if they were really that great a builder youd think that they could rub out a smudgy finger print like meatloaf for instance🤣🤣😂
Haha! Yeah, I know how it is. I've learned to chill out, even when my 13 year old grandson picks up one of my builds. I cringe, but whatever, if he loves it he'll be careful with it. It's a hobby and it's not like they cost a million dollars right!? Take care my friend!
Great answer, Larry ✌️😊
Thank you so very much! I really appreciate that!
