Football in the USA is all about making money! And money only!! Working class kids with low earning parents are excluded from the game!…you don’t get to learn the skills required in the US unless you have the money to pay coaching staff! In the UK and rest of Europe youngsters are encourage to learn. With clubs more than happy to take on youngsters with a passion for the game, irrespective of their parents personal wealth!
I can’t put into words why I like Emma so much.. it’s like she’s a deep friend, slash aunt I’ve never met. She’s so real and down to earth. I just think she’s great! Now about football she has wisdom I could only dream of having, as a coach myself. - Love from So Cal ❤
I'm watching this from Vancouver in Canada, but I loved hearing the shout out to Camden Town. Back in the 90s, I went to London and directed a show in a little pub theatre in Kentish Town. Duke of Cambridge, I think. I wonder if it's still there. We love the area so much. Late nights at Fluke's Cradle (probably gone by now?), illicit postering runs with freezing hands. Damn, I miss it.
She is so refreshing for the U.S compared to Jill. A player's coach while also being super competitive and empathetic. The players under her are very lucky and hoping for a very long successful new phase of this program.
@@DerekLangdon-w9e She was literally in the league Bompastor is in now. And she laid the groundwork for Bompastor's current success, as I'm sure Sonia will say quite happily.
@@eastvandb Hayes was a serial loser in Europe! She had the players capable of winning the Champions league, but not the tactical awareness to overcome Euro teams!!….Hayes domestic success was born out of Chelsea’s open cheque, buy the best programme more than Hayes coaching success!……..If Hayes is as good as you say.. Tell me why the English FA never wanted her to coach the lionesses? The lionesses would never have won the Euro Championship with Hayes at the helm.
And if Lily doesn’t make the grade, the USWNT will drop her quick enough, unlike the Netherlands who would have nurtured her and helped her progress! Still it’s her choice. I can see her playing for Arsenal within a couple of years because of their Dutch connection!
She has away to go to even match Bompastor or Wiegman!…..As for Hayes being the greatest of all time….Why? because the USWNT beats up on semi pro teams etc. Or maybe because of winning the farcical Olympic football? C’mon, let’s have some objectivity!
I hope Emma leaves this job sooner rather than later so I can like her again. I understand money talks, but she really should come home and continue to build womens football at home.
Women’s football is developing fine in the UK……It doesn’t need a waffle Queen like Hayes to succeed! …..If you haven’t noticed, Chelsea are flying now they have Sonia Bompastor at the helm!
She's a driven coach. She has every right to go places where she can achieve goals. Money will be part of it, sure, but mainly she's gone where the resources allow her to do the work she's excited to do.
@@eastvandb No BS please! She went to the USWNT for the money! If the English FA doubled her salary to coach the Lionesses she would return in a flash! But in all honesty she is not wanted or needed in the UK!
@@dolphmanity I agree that Emma shouldn’t have to speak on American politics but Megan Rapinoe was targeted by the former and future President of the USA. Also this team doesn’t have outspoken players that they did when Alex and Megan were on the team.
@MsShavone21 You are misremembering the situation. It all started when Rapinoe said “Thanks, but no thanks. I’m not going to the f***ing White House,” to a question about being honored at the White House after the 2019 World Cup Win. Trump's initial response to Rapinoe was “Megan should never disrespect our Country, the White House, or our Flag, especially since so much has been done for her & the team. Be proud of the Flag that you wear.” Trump didn't really go after Rapinoe until she missed the PK in the 2023 World Cup. She initiated the conflict.
She's said a lot of substantial things about her life, her love of football and women's football in general. What do you mean "waffle"? She's not saying stuff that's going to end up in a tabloid with a bunch of exclamation points?
Emma Hayes is back in London! Are you excited for the Wembley match?
I love everything about Emma Hayes. She really is a visionary for the woman's game and we are lucky to have her at the helm of team USA
She's a one-off

I enjoyed this press conference, she speaks with clarity and great introspection.
Agreed
The reason why I respect Emma Hayes is that she has worked relentlessly for women's football.
What a gem Emma is! We are so lucky to have her coaching the USA!

While Sarina has a pool of 30, Emma has a pool of 5,000
Pool of 5,000? Haha, yeah funny! …..Will they all be on the subs bench?

Seems unfair
Interesting how political EH is when she want to be and skirts any equally important issue regarding US pres.
The US Presidency should be of no concern to US Soccer. Emma, unlike Megan Rapinoe, understands this and will stay in her lane.
@dolphmanity why do people bring up presidents and politics. American media never asks about the prime minister 😂
Why would she weigh-in on the US presidency? She”s English. Ask her about the Labour Party.
