About this video: This is our complete guide on how to download and install Java 21 in Minecraft. Why would you want to download Java 21? Well, you will need to get Java in order to install Minecraft mods on Windows as well as host your own Minecraft server. This means that it is important to update Java for Minecraft as soon as possible, so let’s jump right on into it!
First things first, you will need to confirm you don’t have any versions of Java installed currently. It is possible that you have Java 17 or an older version of Java installed, and currently Minecraft needs Java 21. To do this, open up the start menu and search “Apps & Features”. Open this and in Apps & Features search for “java”. You will now see any version of Java you have installed. Click on these and uninstall any Java versions you have.
Next, we can move on to how to download Java. In the description above, you will find a link to download Java in the description above. That will take you to our complete text guide on how to download Java for Windows. On this page, click the “Download Java 21” button to go to the official Java download page.
On this page, click on Java 21 and select “Windows”. Finally, next to “x64 installer click the link under the “Download” section. The Java 21 installer will begin downloading.
Now, we need to go over how to install Java on Windows for Minecraft. This is actually really easy. Just double-click on the file you downloaded, and it will open up the Java 21 installer. From here, it is just like installing an other program. Click next a few times until the installation starts and then click to finish the installation.
Java 21 is now installed, but you may need top run the Jarfix as well. This is linked in the description above, and when you click the download button on our website, the Jarfix will start downloading right away.
Once the Jarfix is downloaded, just double-click it. When you do this, you will get a confirmation it has worked. The Jarfix is a simple tool that links the .jar files on your computer to Java. This may need to be done when switching Java versions or if you have WinRAR or another program installed in order to allow you to double-click .jar files to run them on your Windows computer.

Whenever I try to open the Java Installer, it says "Error 1500. Another installation is in progress. You must complete that installation before continuing this one."

The problem is that the blocks look disgustingly brighter then usual and the dirt and cobblestone and every block looks really brighten I can send you a screenshot if you like I'm not using a texture pack or anything I use default graphics😢

Thanks for all the help. I haven't played Minecraft in a few updates so I forgot all this. I'm glad you keep making updated content for this cause things can change a lot over time so I don't like watching five year old videos on how to do stuff like this cause I usually end up getting errors and stuff.

Not a helpful tutorial. For some reason i could not download Java. Unfortunately i need it for anything like optifine or iris. Meaning i can't get the shaders i want. Please make a new in depth tutorial on how to fix this cause even the jar,fix didn't work.

If on Windows, open start window, then search settings. In settings search apps. Then click on it and search java.

I’ve done everything right and have made sure the Java version is right and that my forge is the same version as my Minecraft but everytime I go to play the game with forge it says “error game crashed….exit code:1”
it does that for me too. i've tried everything. changing the 'mods' folder name to anything else does stop the chrashing problem, but mods won't work anymore.

I highly don't recommend downloading this new java. I recently downloaded it, and most of my files went missing. I'm honestly pissed off about it because I can't recover them anymore. Be careful what you downloading
