    To get crispy hashbrowns with no oil, bake them in the oven at a high temp on a parchment lined baking sheet. Just keep an eye on them, they brown pretty quick!

    I didn't go vegan (or plant-based) for weight loss I did it to see if I could and how I would feel. 2 yrs later and I am in the best shape of my life. I am also surrounded by bacon eating whey protein drinking fighter's that are nowhere near the shape the plant-based guy's are in.

    • @HealthyVeganMama

      Woohoo that’s amazing. I’m the same. I was so unhealthy and knew I needed this change and this weight loss has been the icing on the cake because all of that fat I was carrying was super unhealthy for my frame. So happy you are able to love the way you want surrounded by non vegans. It can be easy.

    Cooking the hashbrowns on a silicone lined baking sheet at 425 will get them nice and crispy, just needs to be flipped once. Also if you shred the potatoes your self there will be a lot of extra water that needs to be pressed out a little. This will help them get crispy not soggy.

I've said to my girlfriends over and over again that I literally spend all day in the kitchen, and I'm sick and tired of it. First and foremost, I am a vegan for ethical reasons, but I also believe that a WFPB diet is the healthiest way to eat, so I will definitely continue eating vegan. I am really happy that I found your channel and hope that you can help me to simplify things in the kitchen. Put in waffle maker with no spray, press down and then DO NOT open until it stops steaming. It cooks the veggies and browns the hash browns you will LOVE it. Put it in and forget it! 😛😛

      That’s great. I really think it depends on how heavy you are into eating animal products. If you want some help you can message me on IG at hungry.vegan.mama or email me at hellotiac@gmail.com

    haha funny how u say u add stock/broth to pan to prevent sticking, cos i deliberately use nothing in my pan TRYING to get that stuck on half burnt looking brown stuff on the bottom of the pan! lol
    i keep scraping and stirring, scraping and stirring, waiting for all the brown crispy bits to be evenly distributed thru out. (i dont call mine HASH BROWNS cos Australia doesnt have grated potatoes in supermarkets UNLESS THEYRE COVERED IN OIL) so i use leftover MASHED potatoes instead and just call it Hash. (once i have lots of brown specks from the bottom of pan thru my mash, i add 2 cups mixed froz veges, sprinkle with nooch, chilli flakes, onion & garlic powder, stir it up & scoop it onto half a bowl of greens. YUM)

    Where do you get your right amount of Omega 3 and 6 from? You can’t get that from 1-2g of fat every day..?
    Also, how much fat will you be eating when your weight loss is done..?

    • @HealthyVeganMama
      @HealthyVeganMama  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Who said I eat 1-2g of fat? I eat way more than that, about 20g per day is more like it. I also take a supplement (from algae). When my weight loss is done I’ll prob stay pretty close to that amount. 20-35% of your daily calories should come from fat, per the current recommendations so that would be close to what I’m eating now. Maybe 5 more grams would be good. Hope that answers your question.

    New subscriber here! :) I'm with you on the avo- I usually eat half. Then I always store it in an airtight container with the pit to keep it fresh :)

      @HealthyVeganMama  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lauren Vacula great idea! I need to try that. I’m usually always trying to pawn off the other half to someone in the family so it isn’t wasted. I can never seem to get mine to stay fresh.

      @@HealthyVeganMama i hear you! I usually end up skimming of a thin layer on the top that gets a little brown...

    I'm thinking of starting the starch solution. Would you recommend eating as much fat as you did today to start off?

      schramy0910 Did she even have any fats in her meal ?

    • @HealthyVeganMama

      Leslie Hardin yes my sandwich had about 15/17g of fat

    • @HealthyVeganMama
      @HealthyVeganMama  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure. I’ve been eating about 15-20 grams of fat since the beginning. I don’t follow the starch solution EXACTLY, but have used it as a guide. For example, I think I sometimes eat a little more fat than recommended, as well as fruit. But you need to try and see what works for you. This should be a lifelong change so experimenting here and there is great. No rush to figure out what’s the best for your body. Best of luck to you.
