After all the GGD kits I have and countless demos and songs I released, I feel like I got everything I need until you guys come up with another banger of perfectly mixed kit!!! It makes my life sooo easier and I'm so grateful for the OKW series and GGD products. Sounds amazing!
You're really blue ballin me here man I really wanted to hear that cranked snare. I feel like that should be the main selling point for the kit considering it's the only thing (imo) that separates this release from the rest of the OKW lineup. That low tuned loathe style snare is still beautiful but plz just lemme hear the other one in like a dumb slam breakdown or sum I want it so bad.
I've read a lot of the comments on here and I see a lot of people being somewhat on the fence regarding the snare. First off I don't think anyone is wrong here. Nolly explained in the beginning that this is more of a "Modern Nu Metal" sound. If you guys listen to the new Linkin Park album or some of Korn's more modern albums, the snare is not that cranked piccolo we all associate with the 90's early 2000's nu metal era. Naming the library "Modern Nu Metal" or "Nu Metalcore" would had probably made more sense, but again Nolly explained everything in the beginning. He never said this will get you that Abe Around the Fur or Life is Peachy sound. If I was to add something to this library and make everyone happy, would have been to include 3 tuning for the snare. Low - Medium and then high cranked - but again this is a OKW library, not a full fledged GGD one. Don't be surprised if this might turn into something bigger in the future due to high demand and also this OKW has the best quality thus far - then maybe everyone will be happy! Love you GGD
Absolutely love M&M! Would be interesting to see how Nolly would approach a more generalized big modern rock library now after 7 years. Maybe the fact that it was used on some very big releases tells them that it doesn’t need improving and it probably still sells well.
@@northtimo666 Yeah this ain't it. It's also even more frustrating that they added a high tuned snare but then panned it to the side so you can't use it as a main snare. When you think of nu-metal drums you don't think of a fat modern snare, you think cranked 90's goodness with lots of ring
@@Slamthulhu Nailed it man. I hope they could add that higher pitched snare there as well. I mean Spiritbox definitely has nu metal influence, but it’s not the first band that comes in mind when thinking of nu metal.
Damn, thats my jam! Any tips on importing the midi grooves in the daw? while played in the sampler, they sound very realistic , velocity wise. as soon i drag the grooves in the daw, the volocitys are maxed out, loosing the realism while played within the sampler.
@@lukebogartmix So they're just massively out of touch with what Nu Metal is then. When the vast majority of people think of Nu Metal drums they think of 90's drum sounds of bands like Deftones, 311, Slipknot, Korn etc. not whatever Spiritbox does
@@Slamthulhuindeed. Spiritbox can be definitely counted as nu metal influenced band but overall their style is closer to Architects and the metalcore/djent scene than nu metal.
this is THE sound i've been waiting for from you guys.
on sale for $45 right now? that's a steal. JUST GOT IT
Nolly Walkthrough Videos are informative ASMR's, change my mind!
Facts.
What do you mean by ASMR
Thanks to Joe for highlighting all the kit pieces, every single detail in the video editing is appreciated!

Such a great sounding kit! Once again - thank you for these incredible tools GGD!! ❤
Patiently waiting for a Mix Ready okw nu metal template cough cough I use Reaper 😎
I don’t imagine Nolly has ever “freaked out” or lost his shit about anything and his BP must be like 70/50
This sounds amazing! First OKW I wish was a full library!
i just searched nu metal drums digital to see if there's any kit nowdays and this literally got out an hour ago. Talk about a lucky day.
IT'S JUST ONE OF THOSE DAYS!
When you don’t wanna…play drums?

We need a M&M V2 with Side Snare :)
Absolutely love M&M!

Welp.... now I have to buy anither drum library. This sound really, really nice.
The side snare is giving big Mein vibes..
Thanks Michae- I mean Nolly 😂
The Toms are amazing! Snare is a little low and thuddy for my preference. But still really nice.
This sounds like OKW architects 2.0 or OKW modern metal to me hahahaha, the snare is very modern-metal-ish, or Zakk Cervini-ish
This library is very much inspired by the new wave of Nu Metal inspired bands coming through at the moment!
Ikr! I expected a lot more deftones/slipknot kinda high tuned snare.
It does. Feels like a missed opportunity. Other than that the kit does sound good, but not screaming nu metal.

How are you gonna make a nu-metal kit and not make the cranked snare a focal point, that's like THE most important part about nu metal drums
Yeah missing that key feature
He literally explains this in the first 90 seconds that it’s the “modern nu metal”, like Spiritbox and other bands
@ He does but kinda misleading in a sense because they’re not generally regarded as nu metal.

I don´t know why but the way the drums are hit Sounds like mike malyan I dont know why
This kit was actually sampled by Nolly! ... maybe he's been practising 🤔
@GetGoodDrums nollys hits have become great. What an Improvement since the Creative live Masterclass
Does it have Roland mapping ? That's the problem I've had with the other packs.
I just adjust the midi note output of my Roland e kit
It doesn't have a preset but we have a tutorial on our youtube showing you how to easily map an e-kit to your library!
Does this have individual sound files that could be used in other vst’s like ezDrummer3?
No - our libraries are made for Kontakt and Kontakt Player.
Is there a way to crash the ride?
Yes!
