Beautiful airplane and flight! I built a .40 size spitfire and flew it 2 or 3 years until its expiration date arrived..broken prop is no big deal flying model airplanes
What a pity the prop was damaged.....could have been worse.....I take it that it was the Spits maiden flight. Gee it made my toes curl hitting the prop. But what a sound.
Yes, it was the maiden for us. The elevator was just a bit too sensitive on touch down. Rate changes have been made, and new propeller is installed now. It’s all ready, and we will be flying again soon.
I had the original Fiber Classics Spitfire back in 1997. It had a 3W-80R2 engine that was badly underpowered and didn’t cool properly. I’d love to see how you fit the 3-cylinder Kolm in there. That has the vertical performance mine totally lacked.
I have the exact set up, also from -97. Fiberclassics with 3W-80R2. Don’t remember it being under powered at all. I need to get it back in the air again.
@@RC-squadron The problem was that I did a lot of scale stuff so it weighed 45lbs. That wasn't enough engine to allow any decent vertical performance. If you watch any good video of a Spitfire doing an airshow performance, it should be able to do a 400' loop with no issues or crapping out at the top in this scale.
What an incredible sound
Beautiful model, you can’t beat a Moki radial but I think the sound of the Kohlm setup just did.. Wooden props saves your driveline every time…
Simply beautiful!
What I like most is the big propeller
very good

Awesome model. Well done 👏

@@RC-squadron Great News.
My god it sounds so like a Merlin powered Spit.

An in line engine? Almost sounds like a Merlin!
I don't do this so I don't know much about them. But this is the 1st one I've heard that doesn't sound like a lawnmower.
Superb and beautiful. 🧐🇬🇧👍
What brand of propeller are you using?
@@tonydeaton1967 it’s a four blade Fiala.
Like a Merlin
Bad landing 😮
The take off was botched as well.
I would learn to fly better before I sunk so much money and effort into an RC airplane. Learn to land!
Precisely
Yeah, bad piloting is a hallmark of RC flying, unfortunately 🙂
